He looked at her, grinning, and then, still looking nervous he said, "Well, what would you think about being my mate?" He said this quickly, nervous and slightly afraid she would say no, but hopeful that she would say yes, because he had fallen for her quickly and he hoped that he would get to stay with her.

Karin giggled and nodded. "I think I would like that a lot, to tell the truth." she whispered with a blush. "I really do like you and even if you had not been my patient, I think I would have noticed you the second you stepped onto the property. I am glad you found your way here and that Lady Kazuyo could save you. Else, I think I would never have found you or a mate that suited just me. I was one of the first foxes here, and most have already fallen in love and mated. I am one of the few left."

"I would have thought you'd find a mate easily, you are beautiful and radiant," he said, blushing as he said this to her, but knowing how true it was. He was so happy that she said she would like it, maybe he would get to have some kits of his own sometime. He would like that, and he could tell she would too.

Karin blushed. "I guess I shouldn't say the other foxes were not interested in me, but I have not been interested in them as more than friends. You are the first I felt this way for and I have treated many creatures. You are special to me, it seems."

"Oh, well, I am very glad of that," he said, turning even more red under his black fur. He looked at her, grinning very widely, and swam over to sit next to her. He was not sure why she liked him at all, but he was extremely glad that she did. He would have been very hurt if she had rejected him.

Karin giggled and licked his chin. "You should not worry so much about things. I am as I appear, and do not have any surprises to offer you so please do not worry so much. Everything will work out fine. Just wait and see." Karin giggled again, feeling like a school girl.

He laughed, rubbing his cheek against hers softly. He yawned, the warm water making him drowsy, and then swam over to the shore and relaxed as he dried off in the dun, watching her in the water. He was so happy, and he was enjoying watching her in the sun.

Karin could tell that Teithi was happy and it made her happy too. Soon the combination of swimming and the warmth made her tired as well and she swam over to him and lay beside him, soon fast asleep.

When she fell asleep beside him, he curled up a little bit and was shortly thereafter dozing too. He curled even closer to her as he was sleeping, being comforted by her warmth. He slept more soundly then he usually did, probably due to her comforting presence. He woke up a few hours later with a yawn, shocked he had slept so long.

"Morning," said Karin who had been up about fifteen minutes before he stirred and had been watching him as he slept. It made him seem so child-like and innocent. She smiled at him and stood up stretching. "I bet you are hungry now, why do we not go to the kitchen and get something to eat."

He rose, and stretched because he was always a little stiff after sleeping, and his recovering paw did not help, and then nodded. He followed her back to the house, his stomach starting to growl as they were walking. "I guess I was hungrier than I realized," he said, smiling at her. He was still a little stiff on his hurt paw, but was trying to ignore it as he walked beside her toward the mansion.

Karin saw him favoring his left paw and gave him a smile. "You need to rotate your paw a little but not hard enough to make it hurt worse. Just enough to stretch it out and keep it strong. Otherwise, don't put too much weight on it or you could hurt it worse." she explained as they entered the kitchen and she retrieved some fish for him.

He sighed, and then did as she was telling him to do. He smiled over at her when she sat some fish in front of him, but then he waited for her to start eating. He was really happy and sort of hungry also, so once she started to eat he dug in happily. He kept rotating his paw a little to work out the stiffness and continued to eat.

Karin smiled at him. "I would advise you to get some rest after dinner. You have been doing a lot today and we don't want you to reinjure yourself. Perhaps an early night is in order." she suggested as she finished her meal.

He nodded, and then said, "I do not remember the way to the rooms," blushing a little at his forgetfulness. He yawned, realizing how tired he actually was. He cleaned off his paws quickly and then wiped his face. He stood and stretched again, his paw feeling a little better now after he stretched while he was eating.
