"Thats good to hear," Kahlilia said, deep relief in her voice. She was able to see the resemblance between Esmeralda and Roman, and automatically assumed they were siblings. She smiled and stayed where she was for a few moments, surveying the others quietly. Evantually, she turned around to go all the way back to the barn so she could put Kelly in her stall, and then let the hyper Benvolio run around.
Once she had done that, she came back to the fields on the back of the galloping Benvolio. She was far away, closer to the barn then the fields, but when Benvolio slowed down after a smile, she smiled and gave a wave.
Xavier gave a rude snort at her comment and walked by her to exit the stall. He exited the barn with no actual destination - maybe his cot to sleep more and call Rebecca again. That might be fun, yeah.
But where was it?
Damnit! I don't even remember where my room is!
Of course, his thoughts contained more colorful vocabulary that is inable to mimic.

Emily left her sketchpad lying near the tree and walked over to Shannon. Apollo of course followed close behind Emily; wanting to stay near his friend. Emily stopped when she was standing next to Shannon and placed her hands behind her back and pulled out the scrunchie.
" Is there anything I can do?" Emily asked putting her hair in the ponytail again.

Esmeralda grinned. "Ain't it just," she said as Kahlilia rode away.
She stumbled slightly as she got to her feet. All kidding aside, Roman immediately moved to catch her, and she smiled up at him. "It's fine," she said reassuringly. "Here, watch me get in all by myself."
Roman rolled his eyes again but stayed within arm's reach as Esmeralda climbed into the truck. He knew his idiot sister would be too proud to ask for help if she couldn't make it in. As it was, she was fine, which made him give a slow, relieved breath.
Esmeralda winked at Emily. "You can talk them into not taking me to the doctor," she teased. "I don't want to get poked with sharp pointy objects and have flashlights shined into my eyes and get asked if it hurts when he does...this."
"Ez, my dear sister," said Roman seriously, "if you are anything less than completely honest and scrupulously polite while dealing with the doctor, I promise that you will be in the hospital. If he doesn't put you there, I will."
Although someone who didn't know him might have been worried by that threat, Esmeralda didn't even seem fazed. "Yes, Daddy, I promise I'll be good," she said, smiling up at him. "If I'm really super good, can I have a cookie?"
"I should have been an only child," Roman sighed. "And since you are seventeen years old, Ez, I see no need to bribe you to behave at the doctor's."
Esmeralda gestured at him, grinning at Shannon and Emily. "You hear that? I may well have broken my head open, and all he can say is 'Be a grownup'." She looked very sadly up at Emily. "Not even my brother sympathizes with me." Then she smiled brightly again. "It's a good thing I know he loves me so much!" She leaned back against the seat and closed her eyes.

Emily turned from Shannon and smiled at Esmeralda. She wanted to retort something back; but found she couldn't say anything. All that Emily could do was wave and smile. Apollo nudged her from behind and put his muzzle in her back pocket searching for sugar cubes. But he found none so he rested his muzzle on Emily's shoulder.
" Have fun" Emily called with a smile.

Esmeralda gaped at her for a moment, her eyes so wide that they were practically eating up her face, then burst out laughing. "Oh my God! That is so perfect! Emily gets off a good one! Did you catch that, Roman?"
Roman sighed. "Maybe she knocked her head a little harder than I thought," he muttered.
Esmeralda abruptly stopped laughing and winked at the blonde girl. "Sure, Emily. I'll have fun being poked and prodded by the doctor. Save me a shovel for when I get back. Have a lovely day. Don't let my brother play in traffic, Shannon!"
Roman looked at Emily and Shannon. "Is there any way I can claim it's mistaken identity and we aren't really related?" he asked with a weary grin. "I suppose I can always claim she's a changeling - I've often wondered."

Shannon just laughd at the siblings as she climbed into the driver's seat. Keith? Ride Dancing Dolly back will you? She clsoed ehr door and put the truck into reverse.

" I'll be right back Shannon." Emily said and with another wave at Esmeralda she began walking backwards and smiling at Keith.
Emily then turned around after walking backwards and began running to the tree while laughing. It felt good for her to be out in the sunlight and in the open air. Once she arrived at the oak tree Emily grabbed her sketchbook and mounted Apollo. She was holding the book in one hand and the reins in the other. Apollo trotted up to Dancing Dolly and whinnied.

It took a while for Benvolio's high energy to fade away, but when it finally did, he didn't even want to stand up for his "bath." Kahlilia was hosing his dusty coat down and combing him as the tall stallion stood quietly. "Good boy, Ben." She told him.
Evantually, after cleaning him up, she put him in his stall where he lay down and fell asleep. She giggled a little, filled his food container. She put in the usual hay and oats, but had secretly snuck in carrots. She looked over at Kelly, who was wide awake in the stall directly to the left of Benvolio's. She looked up at her and made a snorting noise.
"Well, hello to you too, sweetheart." Kahlilia said in response.

Esmeralda glanced back at Roman as the truck started. "Hey, big D, can you check on Sahara for me when you get back?" she asked, sudden worry flitting across her face. "She's the little chestnut Arab. I don't know if anyone took the time to look after her once she went back to the barn."
"Sure," said Roman. "I'll check your horse if you're good for the doctor," he added with a little smirk.
Esmeralda turned to Shannon. "You hear that? That's blackmail, isn't it?" She grinned at Roman. "So there! I have witnesses!"
Roman laughed. "Actually, it's extortion, Ez," he called after the truck. "Don't worry, I'll check on your pony." That said, he sauntered over to Dolly and Apollo, looking across the fields and wondering how he was going to get back to the barn.

Emily chuckled when Roman called Sahara a pony. She leaned forward and patted the fiesty Apollo on the neck. The way he was dancing around in place made Emily wonder just how bad Apollo wanted to leave the fields. Emily began whispering calming words in his ear and soon he was standing still with his ears rotating around.
