I've seen many animes that are all too awesome to be able to choose only one. I'ma list a few that are among the top of my list. biggrin On the other hand, I think I've only been attached to one manga. That may be because I've only read two before, but who cares? biggrin Enjoy my recommendations and reviews!
Fav Manga: Pandora Hearts. The whole concept of this story is so awesome, and the characters (especially one in particular) are total luv-v-v. <3
Fav Anime(s): Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - Not only is the story deep and moving, it's soo amazingly thrilling and epic! Though it can tone down on the corniness at times. Plus, it's oh-so-funny! Hakuouki - This is one anime that I absolute love and hate. The characters (which are 90% guys) are total eye candy. There are some uber-cute moments in the first few episodes... but then it's all downhill from there. Like, wayyy downhill. And not downhill in the quality of the anime or anything. No, I mean downhill as in what happens to the characters. To find out, you'll have to watch it yourself. Pandora Hearts - Yes, this may be probably be my number one; as said earlier, I absolutely love the concept, the story, the characters, and the drama. And I especially love one certain character in particular... Bleach - I did enjoy the anime... at least, the first sixty-two seasons of it. After the three-hundredth episode, it was pretty much all crap. -___- However, the seasons that follow the manga storyline were actually very interesting. Can't say it was my favorite though. My favorite season, actually, was an exceptionally awesome filler season. The characters, who had pretty much bonded by then, were all awesome, and I had such a great time. Definitely a good anime to watch.

Well to be honest, I don't know my absolute favorites..but I can list a few for you and possibly a few short summaries to go along with them.
Darker Than Black (season 1 and 2) - (summary from season 1) 10 years ago in Tokyo a field known by the name of Hell's Gate appeared, and at the same time, people known as Contractors. These Contractors, psychics, were able to wield unnatural abilities. At a price.
Hei, known as one of the most powerful of these contractors, alongside a few of his partners, one of whom being a silver haired girl named Lin, works with one group among many others, for the most part all rivals, who are trying to figure out the secrets of Hell's gate.
((To some probably sounding like a sort of stereo-type story, but truly, rather unique compared to many others that I've seen myself. Amazing story-line, and interesting characters. However I suck at explaining things so please, do go check it out!
Also, in the case of this anime, it's backwards! Instead of it being a manga first, it actually started off as an anime and was later adapted into a manga. Also, In my opinion, along with a few other friends that have watched the anime/read the manga after, the anime is indeed better. So go check it out!))
Dead Man Wonderland (Both a Manga and an Anime) - Now you may say that yes, The anime and Manga version of most shows are usually pretty different from each other, but trust me when I say, that for both in the case of this anime/manga, are drastically different, in many ways. You can watch the anime, then read the manga, or read the manga, and then watch the anime, which only goes to episode 12 I believe.
However for this, I suck at a summary and so therefore I suggest going to take a look at it for yourself! However if you dislike blood I suggest against it. It's not exactly a gore based series, but there are some parts of it that can get a bit bloody.
I can try for a sort of summary, at least though if you would like. It deals with a Prison, built as more of a sort of theme park for those who visit to watch the prisoners take part in violent sometimes fatal games for the tourists own amusement. A middle school student at Nagano Prefecture's middle school, Ganta Igarashi a somewhat normal boy, is thrown into a world he never quite expected.
After a massive earthquake that took place ten years before this story starts, the prison was built. Ganta's class was getting ready to go to that very prison as a class field trip, so that they might witness some of the attractions themselves, when something terrible occurs. A man, donning a blood red cloak and some sort of helmet covering everything except for the lower portion of his face, suddenly appears outside of the classroom window. Everything erupts into chaos as the students notice, Ganta being the first to see him. Soon after, he finds himself face to face with the masked Red Man, his classmates nothing but a bloody mess around him, and knows that he's done for.
However, the red man doesn't kill him, and instead does something odd. Now, Ganta finds himself being accused of the crime, and comes to the realization rather quickly, that there was no way around his being convicted. Soon enough, he finds himself in the very prison, his class was supposed to go on a field trip to that very day.
((alright, I tried my best to avoid any spoilers to the best of my abilities, and pretty much every other summary had the same details in them from what I saw before writing my own, only some of them gave away what the red man did that I considered odd in my own, but i say that one should read/watch to find out for themselves.))
Also if you're interested in knowing a few other animes/mangas that I've read watched let me know! I'm more into the psychological, horror things of course, but I do watch and read other sorts as well.
