Taun awoke, looking over a large battlefield. Smoke filled the air as soldiers from the fire kingdom used their element to wreak havoc among the other soldiers. Air knights flew down from above, choking the flame by trapping the air above them. A large blast sounded and teams of earth elementalists threw boulders, hitting the air knights unaware. Crying he looked down and saw his friend Zig, her eyes devoid of any life.

Shuddering, Taun awoke, this time back in the temple. He was drenched in sweat and his arms were covered in scratches. He stood up slowly, thinking about the coming war and where his allegiances would lie. A loud squawk disrupted his thinking and he saw Akito, his crane holding his foot out with a fresh note. "Good you're back!" He said untying the note and quickly reading it. He looked down and dropped the paper on the stone floor. He hoped that the battle he saw wasn't coming this soon.

From the Fire nation, the heat and the height of their mountains a soul returned. Weeks ago Colm had preformed a spell of protection on all of noble birth, one that had taken away the sight of Illusion Paramore. Illusion had not meant to return, she had thought the spell had gone wrong and this would not have happened to her. But at the moment, she didn't think anything. For upon inhaling the cursed flower planted by one who was sent by the dark king himself, she had been returned to her true body in the temple. But could she wake up? Only time will tell. She breathed quietly as she lay in a deathly state of sleep.

Katczinski, invisible as always to the world, floated into the castle. He was tired after his journey here from the mountains in Fire, but he promised himself he would not rest until he at least had something to start with.

He chose the castle, because he had been there to witness the events before- the princess and all of the others becoming astral projections and returning to their bodies. For some reason, it had never occurred to him before that Illusion had not returned to her body before, but with her recent disappearance those events were immediately brought to the front of his thoughts.

He silently floated through the halls, looking for signs of Illusion, hoping her body had not been moved if it were still here.

On the cold hard ground she lay, her breath even and steady, but she showed no sign of waking. The forces that held her were great enough to take her sight, they were great enough to keep her in a comatose state. The rapid eye movement that came with dreams never would show behind her eyelids, for she could not dream. Colm had made the spell, Colm had given Fuka the plant, Illusion's last thought had been 'he's going to attack while I am gone.' She left Morr incharge because he was one of her guards and he was strong, he could lead where she could not.

Katczinski continued to wander, looking for anything that seemed familiar, and found his way to the room they had come to meet in before. He recognised the artefacts which he had wanted to steal earlier, and after a moment of looking around he recognised the body of Illusion. His gasp of surprise did not escape the vaccuum around him, but he quickly waved a hand and touched down to the ground as he dispelled his illusion and became visible. He walked over to her body, not sure if he was capable of lifting her or not. He pinched the bridge of his nose while he considered all the options he had.

Among other things, he could:
- Run back to the mountains and tell his brother where the body had been found, but risk having the body discovered as it lie here.

- Attempt to carry Illusion back to the mountains himself, which he didn't believe himself capable of. His brittle bones would likely snap under the weight, and that would be bad for both of them. The idea of watching Illusion plummet to her demise, and it being his fault was not a pretty picture.

An eyelid flickered as Illusion began to regain some form of trapped conciousness. I can hear, yet not move or speak? Internally she struggled for the opening of her eye, how grand it would be if she could lift just one lid? Even if not a sliver of light could truely ever enter it and be recognized as such. For hours she tried to pry them open, and once the light outside had grown dark? She did.

OF course, given that it was dark in the room and there was no light outside, it was much the same as if she hadn't opened her eyes at all. She heard breathing, but who? Morr she thought, but I told him to take over? Why should he be here? That was when she saw the outline of the figure above her. Strange. Perhaps another mesmer? Projecting their images into my mind, at least it helps.

Kat looked down upon the body of Illusion, and noticed something strange. He examined her mind, his own eyes shut, and felt the hum of consciousness. He was no mind reader, but he knew how minds worked and he could tell this one was thinking.

The air around him gently began to wave inwards as the vacuum disappeared, and he knelt down by her, placing his hand behind her head.
"Still blind, are you?" He said softly, a slight chuckle behind his voice. He began to try creating images for her, to grant her sight like his brother had done, but it felt fuzzy to him. He waited for anything, a response, an acknowledgement. He waited to see if her mind would open up to his intrusion or try to shut down.

"Blind? I was...blind?" The person who held her looked fuzzy in the dark. She squinted, trying to see more clearly. "Where are we?" She tried to remember what had happened, where she had just been before opening her eyes.

She kept blinking, trying to blink the fuzzy rings on the outskirts of her vision away. "Will you bring a light? It feels innaturally dark." Her voice was soft and quiet, as if she were afraid that disturbing the dark with a light may be a bad choice.

Kat made a strange expression as he thought about how he would do that one. He tried to snap his fingers a few times, and light sparked from them, but he could never keep the light going. He looked around, and walked over to a wall and plucked a torch from the wall. He tried to spark more light to light the torch, but it wasn't working. "I have light here, but not heat. I cannot create fire. Perhaps if we could magnify it..." He said, looking around feebly through the darkness for any tools to use.

Lus thought of what he said and frowned. She focused on where she saw his shadow, and made out the image of the torch. If one was to be misled into seeing the light, then it would be as if they had the vision of a night predator... She focused her eyes on the torch, and a small flame lept up from the middle or an illusion of one. But on her eyes if not his she could see the room. "You must be a great Mesmer to be able to give me the vision of sight as if it is coming from my own eyes and not your own!" She exclaimed.

Katczinski looked over at Illusion, slightly startled by her words and the fake fire, and broke his train of thought. "Hmm? What exactly are you seeing?" He said, unsure of what effects the illusion he had tried to create had. He knew his brother had shown him the trick, but he had never used it before. He looked over at the fire, and slowly reached out to it, to see if it had heat or could fool his mind into believing it was hot.

She tried to focus her eyes on the room around her, it hurt to focus, as if she hadn't done this in years. "We're in a modest room, like that of the temples or a small village. You're near the fire I made." She squinted some more, her eyes were starting to water. "I'm sorry, I can't see through these tears..." Wait...my own tears are disrupting his illusion? "You are a master of illusion if you can alter the mind with so many small details."

"Oh dear..." Kat said, pulling his hand away from the fire and walking back to Illusion's side. The fuzzy rings beginning to disappear as he withdrew his influence. "...I am not capable of those kinds of things. What has happened here?"

"What? I don't understand..." She closed her eyes and tried to clear her head. She could see, but could she really see? Her whole being trembled at the thought that her sight may have been restored. She opened her eyes anyways and could see just as she had before she had closed them. But even if her sight had been restored, they had more pressing issues at hand.
"Kat, I need you to tell me everything that's happened since I've been out. I will not feel well until I know that my nation is well."

"Nothing much has happened. Some figure has approached my brother, but I know not who he is. A few of our people remain to hold the new ground claimed by Air, and we do not know how Palpi Sol is right now. I'll admit, I would be worried about that capitol right now, particularly in the event that fire somehow reaches it unbeknownst to Moriarty..." He sensed some aggravation from his brother, and that the other man had left. "...And now Moriarty is headed back to the Capitol."
