Pausing, Terrie looked down at the scarf she had draped around her neck, touching it gently with her chin since her hands were wet. "Well, too late now." She said with a shake of her head. "You could have kept it for the market, but I could not bear to part with it now."

"Good." Replied Emris with a smile, "For I dared not sell it since I had it saved for a taur special enough to wear it." Leaving the packages, Emris moved over to Terrie and poked her playfully. "I think it's late and we both need our rest...or I do at least." He stretched and yawned. "How about you?"

Terrie froze. A taur special enough?? She barely reacted at his poke, mearly blinking and turning her head, staring at him blankly, almost too scared to dare a hope. "You... think I'm special?"

Instantly waking up from his sleepiness, Emris gazed at Terrie. He didn't know what to say....was saying she was special to direct or something not wanted to Terrie? Pushing aside his racing thoughts, Emris shyly moved past Terrie towards the hallway. But he paused long enough to sincerely answer her in a soft whisper, "You are special."
But then he returned to his grinning face, "Better get some sleep since we have a good walk in the morning. G'night, Terrie!" Like a chased foxtaur Emris quickly walked down the hallway and slipped into his room. Then taking a deep calming breath, Emris opened a book and tried to distract himself by reading before getting some sleep.

Terrie stared openly until he finally answered. The shock kept her from speaking even after Emris had nearly run from the room. It was at least a full minute before she pressed her hands to her chest, shook her head and headed slowly for her room. Pausing at the door, Terrie looked over at the door Emris said contained his room. "Good night." She said softly, a loving smile on her face as she entered her room and went to bed.

After what seemed like a good couple of hours Emris's eyelids started to flutter close. Darkness over took his room as the last embers of the fire died out and the foxtaur fell asleep surrounded by blankets with an opened book right next to him. (*hopes time skip to tomorrow morning is okay*) Light flooding in through the cracks of his wooden shutters woke Emris up from his troubling yet foggy dreams. Stretching the foxtaur yawned before even standing and crossing the room towards the door. Yet, Emris's hand hovered for a minute before he opened the door and silently walked down the hallway to the kitchen.

(time skip was dandy ^^)
Even with her usual waking routine throughout the night, Terrie finally awoke feeling rather rested and fresh. She woke up with the sun and opened her shutters wide. How nice it was, not having to run straight away, and knowing that when she did leave later, she'd be returning by the night. She knew where she'd be sleeping tonight. Also, Emris' words last night... A warm shiver crept up her spine and brought a giggle to her voice. She poked her head out her bedroom door and listened. Hearing nothing, she crept into the kitchen. She bit her lip, thinking for a few minutes before taking the chance. She was going to try to make breakfast for him. She grabbed the jam and bread from where she had seen Emris put it last time, and in her searches found a few potatoes. She chopped those and put them into a pan with some herbs she found. Where they supposed to turn so dark? She was scraping these into a bowl when she heard steps down the hall and she rushed to get it onto the table along with two cups of water, stepping off to the side to see his reaction.

(^.^) Sniffing the air before leaning into peek inside the kitchen, Emris was surprised to see food already on the table. Giving a bright smile the foxtaur commented before slowly entering, "It smells good..." Now the question is how did this happen? But Emris already had a strong idea of who the mystery was.
So with a chuckle Emris looked about the kitchen for the cook of this surprising meal and grinned at her. "You beat me up this morning...but I think it smells like a good thing today."

Terrie smiled with immense pleasure, her tail flicking about quickly, so happy to see Emris was pleased and not wrinkling his nose. "I thought I'd give you something, since you've been doing so much for me. The potatoes might be a bit burned, but not too badly." She giggled bashfully and held out her arm, indicating for Emris to take a seat and dig in. "Hopefully this will hold us over for the morning. Enjoy?" She hadn't meant for that to be a question, but that's how it came out. Hopefully he would like it.

"Thanks for being so thoughtful." Emris thankfully smiled at Terrie before moving in to sit down. Poking at the meal with his fork, Emris looked up at Terrie. "So far it seems fine." He chuckled and finally took a bite of the food and munched silently. Not too bad...a bit crispy and tasteful though. "And...it passes with me." Emris stated warmly after swallowing the first bite.

Terrie grinned happily at his approval, nearly clapping to herself. She then moved and settled herself across from Emris and started munching her own breakfast. Yeah... a bit crunchy, but it could be worse. She smiled proudly to herself. "So how long will it take to get to the market? Do you think we'll be there the entire day?"

"It's a good walk. So we better hurry and probably." Replied Emris before quickly scarfing down the rest of breakfast. Wiping any mess from his face, the foxtaur started moving quickly to get things gathered. All of it went into two baskets along with a small pouch of coins which he made sure to tuck safely into his satchel along with another smaller one in the basket of peaches.

"Okay." She stuffed her food down and put the dishes together on the table. Then she picked up a spare bag she had found in her room, tying it around her waist. She might find something to fill it with. She picked up one of the peach baskets and looked over expectantly. "Ready when you are."

"Aye, then." Emris replied before straightening his warm scarf against his neck and heading out the door. The sun was already rising a good deal in the sky and the foxtaur felt himself quickening his pace as he cut across the stream and into the forest. "There's a fork up ahead that we'll take to get us onto the main path that leaves the woods and heads to the marketplace." Emris informed Terrie as he looked back at her.

Terrie hurried after Emris, keeping pace easily. A chilled morning breeze cut through and she pulled her own new scarf a litte snugger. Maybe she could find a cheap sweater at the market as well... She walked silently alongside the pale foxtaur, her nerves starting to get the best of her. Not liking large crowds, she wondered if there would be many taur at the market. Would it be hectic or calm? Would there be thieves there? Would she be able to control her own grown instinct for stealing? She blushed deeply and turned her face away to think a little more.
