Still rather confused, Maryl slid off the couch and paced over to the front door, picking up her half open bag and scepter, then starting back down the hall to follow Seth. As soon as she was out of view from the Living room she fished her spellbook from the bag, carrying it under her arm.

Dahn jumps out of the house, only to find himself to be surrounded by demons everywhere, and points his guns in the opposite direction from each other. "This is the part where I'm dangerous....."

Kel approached the open front door and peered out. He ticked his eyebrow noticing quite the crowd outside. He called out to Dahn, "I don't suppose you could lead them a bit further away from the house?"
Seth leaned her back against the wall by the cellar door and folded her arms. "Well now, I can't imagine someone like that being able to float completely below the radar."

Maryl reached the basement door, noticing Seth hadn't entered but instead was just standing by it. She released her book, letting it float up in front of her as she made a few quick gestures with her hands, ending with her holding her right hand up high above her head. A faint flicker of white washed over the house as her barrier spell took effect. "I couldn't tell before because he was so gravely injured but... There definitely is something about him that attracts lower planar creatures. Something similar." She looked up toward the ceiling, "Well, it isn't as powerful as the one around the refuge but it should do the trick."

Dahn smiles at Kel as if he was completely sure that they didn't need to worry about the damage to the house. "Don't worry, it'll all be over in a second." Aiming one pistol at the battalion, pulls the trigger, and wiped them as the bullet sweep through the demons.

"Okay." Kel shrugged and moved away from the door, shutting it but not locking it back before he took his coat from the tree and carried it off toward the closet. After putting his coat away, he approached the kids by the cellar door and stretched his arms. "Well... any thoughts?"
Seth sighed and took out her new weapon, looking over the blade again and running her fingers across the inscription. "Nah... I'm just wondering about a few other things."

Maryl recognized loud and repetitive sound of the gunfire coming from outside as she peeked around the hall corner toward the front door. She looked back toward Kel and Seth with a sort of confused look on her face. "Wait... So he's...", she pointed out toward the front door, "And you're...", She pointed to the father daughter pair. "What if he gets hurt again? There's a lot of them out there!"

Kel rested his arms behind his head and smiled, "He'll be fine. You saw how quickly he recovered before. And besides, they seem to be particularly after him so let him deal with it."
Seth simply nodded in agreement. "Besides, it was suggested that we get to safety."

Maryl rested her hands on her hips sighed and pouted in irritation. "Humph!" The two of them didn't seem the least bit worried and it was vexing to get an idea of if they believed in Dahn or just didn't care. Her mind began to wander to something else as she began to relax. It was curious to have such a thing happen so close to capital city.

Seth peeked around the corner of the doorway looking through the hall toward the front door again. She put a hand to her ear to listen then turned back around and sighed. "I still hear gunshots. Should we just wait till he finishes, or do you think it'd be odd for us to go about our business again?"
Kel shrugged, "The forge is outside."
"Ah... Well..." Seth trailed off mindlessly. She didn't really have a remedy for that at all.
Shutting his eyes, Kel leaned back against the wall and folded his arms. "Don't you kids play games anymore? What do you do when it rains?"

After turning to look at Seth in confusion, Maryl scratched her head and looked up at the ceiling. Nothing in particular came to mind at first as she thought about it. "Well, we used to play games back at the orphanage but I've been wandering for a few years. I don't really remember any." She rested her hands behind her back and shifted a bit, feeling stiff from standing.

Seth looked back at Maryl, just as baffled as she was. After hearing Maryl's explanation she folded her arms and gave one. "I work... Besides, I didn't get along well with the other kids back in school. I still have tough times with my co-workers. Thick headed midgets..."
"I see..." Kel sighed. "Well, childhood is about freedom and exploration. maybe you two should go out and while away your days off instead of hovering over the refuge."
Seth thought about those words for a moment. It would be nice to relax and be carefree for once. She turned to Maryl, her first actual friend and nodded, "Well since you don't start work till the day after tomorrow, we could visit the hot springs. I've always wanted to go."

Maryl Nodded to Seth cheerfully. "Okay, that sounds great. I haven't been through the fire nation that much. I didn't know there was anything like that out there. All I've ever learned about was the dry arid climate and difficult mountain passes."
She began to pace around, excited about tomorrow. Her distraction was quickly disrupted when she reached the hall in view of the front door again. She couldn't see through the windows so at least visually it was difficult to tell what was going on.

Dahn sets his pistols back into the holsters and turned his attention toward the family. "It's over now, all the demons in the area have retreated from the area, and I gotta get going somewhere."

Kel hurried over to the doorway as he heard Dahn from outside. He popped the door open and peered out to look. Apparently the invaders cleared out. "You're still looking for the queen right?"
Seth hurried in right after Kel and stepped around her father as she called out to Dahn. "She's headed out to sea! TO THE WEST!" She shouted.
