Apparently she was doing something right because the rope easily slipped away from it's knotted form. With a few more tugs and pulls the child was able to pull the rope away from her feet. Though it wasn't a difficult task to so it was definitely worth the try. Now that she had finished, the child gathered the ropes in her hands and piled them in the corner as neatly as she could. Tenma noted that she would have to return them to Rhiam in the morning, or next time she saw him.
With her task complete the child had no idea what she needed or could do. She wasn't hungry so she wouldn't need to go get food and she wasn't tired, so she wouldn't go to sleep. There had to be something to do. Sighing the girl walked over to her bed, pulling a small box out from under it. With an easy flip the latch came undone and the child peered inside. There were many different scrolls, each with something different to tell. The one that Tenma chose consisted of pictures, nothing more. There was a dancer, a woman, pictured in the many different poses of the dance. She wanted to know, Tenma wanted to learn how to move like the rest of her clan. The child just wanted to be a part of them and their lives.

Though she was nervous about it Tenma knew there was no one to teach her, so she would have to teach herself. Looking down at the scrolls she pictured the poses in her head and tried to figure out how to get from one position to the other. Almost sure that she had figured something out the child slipped off her bed, landing with the soft sound of her feet padding on the floor, and placed the scroll open against her sheets. Never taking her eyes off the scroll, almost as if she was afraid it would disappear, Tenma took three steps backwards on her toes.
Her eyes peered over the scroll as she tried to learn this dance. Then again, even if she didn't figure out how the dance actually went, she would have a fun little dance that she came up with plus a little help from this scroll. Licking her lips lightly she thought over the dance one last time and attempted to shift her body into the first contortion shown on the scroll.
With nimble unassurance the child placed her feet in what she considered a horridle awkward position. Tenma's right foot slid until it was balanced under the center of her body. After she had regained her balance the girl tried to move her left foot, the inside of her foot facing the scroll, so her toes were aligned with the front of her positioned right foot.

With her feet positioned Tenma attempted to place her arms in the correct position, however, before she had a chance to realize that it was happening, she lost her balance and fell over sideways. With a slight twinge she felt a strike to her funny-bone when she attempted to catch herself. This brought the child to ponder why they called it a funny bone, it wasn't at all funny if you hit it. As she sat on the floor, legs now in a criss cross fashion, the girl stretched and flexed her arm in hopes of getting rid of the tingling feeling.
As soon as the child felt the unpleasant sensation beginning to leave her arm she forced herself to her feet for another try at the pose. Once more she stood in front of the scroll attempting to shift her feet so they matched those of the picture. After setting her feet in place Tenma began to focus on her arms, though she was always making sure to keep a check on her balance.

Unfortunatey for this child no way, shape, or form of balance check could have helped her against the dreaded cramp. As Tenma was adjusting her arms there was the locking of muscles she could feel in her contorted left leg. Without much of a struggle the girl let herself fall backwards, catching herself with her hands. After setting herself on the floor the child began to pull on her toe in an attempt to stretch out the cramp. Accursed bodily function.
After a few solid minutes of stretching out her legs Tenma felt she was loosened enough to give her self-assigned task another try. Getting back onto her feet the child found herself becoming more familiar with the positioning of her feet as she slipped them into position with the greatest ease that she had yet to encounter in her attempts. With her feet secured in their position the girl again turned her attention to her arms.

To her pleased surprise Tenma found that, not only had she managed to stay on her feet, but she had managed to actually hold the pose. Next was the question of what she was supposed to do next. In a quick decision she decided to twist on her toes, keeping in consistant movement with her feet, and then to do some sort of double skipping toe touch. Normally this would have been an overall embarassing movement, but since she was alone she knew it was alright to giggle at herself - which she did.
After stopping her toe touches she craned her neck to peer over at the scrool, making sure she knew which position was next.

As the child craned her neck she had, unnoticingly, thrown off her balance. Once she did try to bring herself back to posture she found that she was too far off center not to shift her position in order to catch herself. With a slight puff she blew some misplaced bangs out of her eyes and tried to right herself again. Now that her next pose was in mind she wouldn't have to worry about that throwing her off balance. Balance was something she needed to work on.
After placing herself at the end of her second toe touch she began to shift into her next pose.

Ironically this pose had a lot to do with balance. In order to set herself she would have to lean all her weight backwards...while on one foot. As she had proven in the past balance wasn't her forte and again she was out to prove it. While she shifted her weight back and brought her leg up she found that it wasn't as easy as the picture suggested. Attempting to hold the pose Tenma found herself wiggling around, but it had no avail.
Once again she found herself standing flat footed, but at least she had been able to catch herself before falling again. Just like the time before the child shifted back into her ending toe touch.

Though the child was successfully able to shift her weight back she didn't seem to be able to maintain that posture for a long enough time to claim it as a pose. With a sigh the girl set her foot back down so she would stop wobbling. Her feet were becomingsore from all of the twisting and contorting it required for her to maintain what remaining balance she had. After taking in a deep breath the child returned to her toe touch and shifted her weight back in order to initiate another attempt.

While focused on shifting her weight back from her toe touch Tenma suddenly found herself sitting on the floor. The child had no recollection of exactly what happened, but she knew that whatever had transpired hadn't led to the desired ending. Pulling herself up to her feet the girl shook herself of, ready for the try she should of had the time before. In her toe touch position Tenma began to ease herself into position with hopes that she would actually know what was happening.

With her body settled back into its pose and her arms held in their motion Tenma found, to her surprise, she had actually managed to hold this new position. After a moment something dawned on her, somehow she had to go from this pose to a completely different one. Letting the small child in her speak Tenma found herself doing a few spins on her toes and pausing to check her pose on the scroll.
The twirling and spinning had put a gentle smile on her face as she remembered the nights she used to dance with her grandmother. Sure that she knew what the pose looked like Tenma decided to give it a try. Placing her hands on the floor, because she wanted this dance to have some sort of fluidity, the child gave a strong push off the floor with her toes and hoped that it was enough for her to clear the other side.

Enough force had been applied and Tenma easily cleared herself, landing perfectly in her pose. With a slight thought the girl knew she had to look adorable and that was something she might be able to use to her advantage someday. There was a giddly feeling inside of her as she knew once again she had succeeded. For her final pose she wanted to do something interesting and, considering her encouraging encounters with tumbling so far, decided and few summersaults and kartwheels might be the way to go.

Though her tumbling had gone off without a hitch the child found herself slipping and falling before she even had a chance to check her next pose. Taking this opportunity, unideal as it was, Tenma checked with her scroll to find her next pose. After it was stuck in her head the child returned to her before pose and went back into her tumbles. If she couldn't hit her pose out of the tumble, eventually, then she apparently hadn't learned anything at all.

Once again the tumbling and the kartwheels went off without an incident but better. This time the girl actually managed to land in the final pose, which was actually a bit awkward to strike when combined with the tumbling routine. Those were the four poses she wanted to attempt and, with that behind her, Tenma knew that if she wanted to really get this down she would have to try doing the whole routine perfectly without stopping. She could do it, and if not she would finally tire herself out too much to stay awake.

With a slight hop to her walk the child returned to the other side of the room and assumed her first pose. Taking a deep breath the girl held for a few seconds and began. Toe touch, toe touch, pose. Another breath in and another breath out to make sure her mind was were it was supposed to be. Twirl, spin, twirl, pose. Once she found her grandparents again this would be the first new "skill" she would show her grandmother. Summersault, kartwheel, front flip, final pose. Once again Tenma held her final pose to let herself smile in realization she had completed this little dance of hers. On springing feet the child looked over the scroll and, with careful hands and a loving gaze, she rolled up the scroll to return it to its rightful place.

With the completion of yet another task that night Tenma felt that she shouldn't, couldn't let this momentum die. Not to mention, she was beginning to tire, so she would have to focus all that much more. Her fingers quickly grabbed up her academy syllabus as her eyes scanned the optionaly assignments that she could still do. There were so many to choose from but there were also some that she couldn't do because of where she was. Then she spotted it, push-ups would be prefect given the time and space she had.
Dropping down to her hands the child let her chest rest on the floor as she positioned her hands into a more workable spot. For every one she decided to would have to keep her back perfectly straight and she would also have to touch her nose to the floor every time she came back down. Taking in a deep breath the girl lifted herself to arms length and held it momentarily before bringing her nose down to the ground, also holding that pose for a few seconds. Up, down, one, up, down, two: Tenma had found a rhythm that she intended to stick with throughout the assignment.
