Miles snapped his phone shut, placing it in his pocket while the other hand pressed the eleventh floor. "We'll be going to Jaydn's office instead. Just as well, we're almost there."
Still aware of Xavier behind him, Miles still made no immediate move to make conversation with him, as the two had close to nothing in common anyways. He instead balanced his cigarette on his lips, putting both hands in his pockets, watching the floor numbers move up.
As the doors opened on 11, Miles walked out, letting Jason follow, and door after door later, the inconspicuous door of Jaydn's office came closer. With the simple turn of a key, Miles was able to let himself in, one of the few people who could. He gestured to a seat in fornt of the desk, and sat himself down as well.

Nori was happy to see the newer woman approach, and his smile grew unconsciously larger when she introduced herself. He was not all that surprised that he had been mistaken for a maid, as many of the others thought so as well. And I practically am one anyways...
Ky seemed to respond to Molly oddly. Not her casual self, and not genuinely friendly. Perhaps they were still strangers to each other. "It's okay Ky, I can take care of it. " He smiled back to Molly as well. "Sorry, there isn't much of a schedule when it comes to meals. Just first come first serve I guess. " He tilted his head to the side in somewhat of an apology, but he liked how Molly was kind enough to approach and ask.

Jason followed behind Miles. Miles walked a bit slow for Jason taste he was accustomed to taking long strides and covering ground quickly. He filed into Jaydn’s office behind Miles and walked to the table. He placed both of the cases he had on the table punching in the code for the steel case and popped it open. Jason rarely slept ever since his brother died and for the first time since he walked off the plane into Brazil he felt truly tried and it showed. Looking up at Miles Jason asked “Who was that guy with the bad dye job? Oh, I have something for you.” Jason popped the black case open and pulled from it an envelope and slid it across the table. I was this moment he noticed Miles’s face. So pretty boy can throw down. Jason smiled at this thought. Jason’s brother Marcus had loved giving presents seemed like he never went a week with out bring home a new coat for mom, or a toy for Jason or his sister Lorie. To Marcus it was a way of showing that he could provide for his family that they didn’t need a father because he could do it all. Indeed Jason grew up knowing that Santa doesn’t bring you presents; Marcus brings you presents. Marcus puts food in your belly. So as Jason grew up he came to feel that presents are how a man shows he is a man. So people that know him well, know that when Jason leaves for a trip he always returned with a gift of some sort but they too would know that he hated getting presents back. Indeed it is easier to find the city of Atlantis then it is to find Jason on Christmas. The last gift he had really enjoyed was the dice his brother had given him the week before his death.

Miles gave a genuine smirk at Jason's comment about Xavier. Not so much that he was insulting the teen, but because Miles found it quite rich that Jason had anything to say about another while wearing clothes so abominably tacky. He kept these thoughts to himself and curiously eyed the envelope.
He had come to know that Jason liked being what others would call 'generous', but Miles believed in Quid Pro Quo; Something for Something. Nothing in life is free and must be earned.
Taking the envelope with one hand, Miles opened it partway to see tickets to a Christian Dior men's fashion show. It would be an interesting place to meet people, no doubt, and spy some upcoming designer suits... But Miles slid the envelope back over to Jason.
"I'm sorry Jason, you know I can't accept this." He never intended to be rude, but Miles had refused all of his gifts before. Accepting presents was an easy way to be indebted to another person, and Miles preferred the satisfaction of getting the things he wanted by himself.
He went back to Jason's question. "And the man you met in the lobby was none other than Xavier Matsui. I hope the both of you haven't already made bad blood in such a short time." Although they probably had. Miles leaned back in his chair, further shadowing his eyes and smiling a little. "Jaydn probably won't mind if there's a bit of hostility between you, considering there usually is when it come to Xavier. Just as long as it doesn't interfere with anyone's (or god forbid my own) work. "

Isn't a maid... Molly tried to keep her thoughts from her face. It was hard for Molly to imagine why someone would work for nothing, selling themselves short. No matter how much they enjoyed the work, its still work, and the worker should be reimbursed for their labor. At least that’s what Molly believed.
First come first serve you guess? Molly gave Nori a quizzical look, "How does anyone know when to eat without a schedule?" Molly turned to Kyrin and asked with apparent sincerity, "How do you keep a schedule when you can't plan when you eat? For that matter..."
It was just then that Molly realized the pronoun that Kyrin had used when referring to this new supposed girl, Nori. Molly maintained eye contact with Miss Matsui for a moment longer, and then her gazed shifted to the metaphorical pink elephant in the room that she had apparently just noticed. A thousand questions and ideas flooded Molly's head and in the confusion all she managed was a "Good day... everyone." Molly exited the Kitchen and made her way to her room because, as she later realized, it was the only place she knew how to get to.

So he doesn’t like fashion shows either. Oh, well I will figure out what he likes eventually. I pity the woman that ends up with him because Christmas will be a b***h. I have yet to find a gift that suits that man. Next time I will just bring him Russian hookers. A smile creped across Jason’s face at the thought. “So the boy told me nothing but truth. I just got to this city and I am already making powerful men angry with me.” Jason sat down in one of the chairs leaning back in it as far as it would go and rubbed his eyes. Rocking forward Jason continued. “I had wished that last little bit of info had been false and that Jaydn had informed me that he had more than one brother. Any others I should know about? Also is there anyone else in the building that is prone to spilling important information when angry. A few wrong words to a cop and I end up a dead man. I don’t have Han’s immunity to the law even with it; I wouldn’t run my mouth like that to a stranger, all it takes is one cop trying to be a hero and you end up six feet under.” Jason picked up the envelope and looked inside again at the gift he was sure would have impressed Miles. “Oh, well if the tickets aren’t to your liking I won’t let them go to waste. I could use some new treads. Can you believe this is high fashion in Brazil? I like the fabric but light green? I feel like I just left a retirement home.” Jason laughed.

Leaving the elevator and making his way down the hall of the eleventh floor, Jaydn let himself into his office, catching Jason's laughter. Closing the door behind him, he greeted the men, "Hello Miles, Jason. I apologize for the wait."

Jaydn crossed the room to his coffee maker, starting it up, before heading back to his chair beside Miles. He took in Jason's appearance but made no audible comment on them. Well he's looking his best. He gave a nod and smile to Jason, taking a moment to participate in idle chitchat, "Welcome back, I see you've found us easily enough. Did you have a pleasant trip?"

His gaze had flickered briefly to Miles after assessing Jason's appearance and Jaydn took note of the Russian's state. Got in a bit of a tussle, I wonder what he's brought back from it. Jaydn knew Miles to be someone who didn't particularly like to get into fights but also as a man who got what he wanted regardless of the obstacles. Whatever it was this time must have been very good.

Kyrin paid attention to the way the Nori responded to Molly and resisted the urge to shake her head when Nori apologized. There isn't any need to apologize, she's just being selfish. But Ky knew that it was in Nori's nature to be friendly and want to help out and she knew that it wouldn't be any different for someone new. But Kyrin also knew that if Molly tried to use Nori, that it would stop in an instant, because Ky would see to it that Molly refrain from that kind of behavior. When Molly asked how a schedule was kept Kyrin was almost confused as to why it was such a big deal. "I apologize." She said simply, "We don't have a set schedule because we all work at different times and..." But it was at that moment that she realized that Molly wasn't even listening to her. Molly had turned her attention to Nori and Kyrin made a sudden realization, She didn't know that Nori was a boy. Ha. Nori is so good at looking like a girl. And a smile crept across her face when Molly made her hurried leave. Once Molly was gone and out of the room, Kyrin laughed. She cringed slightly at the effect it had on her eye and her laughter became a slight chuckle as she held the ice to her eye once more. Turning to Nori, she said, "What made you want to dress up today? Oh! And your hair looks nice, did you just dye it?" Kyrin gave Nori a smile. With the exception of the disgustingly colored abomination on her face, she was in relatively good spirits having had Jaydn run off to attend some business and having Molly scurry from the room in confusion.

Jason could feel Jaydn eyeing him up. Never have I worked with so many guys that cared so much about the way a person looks. It just ain’t natural for a man to care more about ones attire than millions of dollars sitting in front of them. I wish they put half the time they spent on fashion into this company. If they did that we would own half the eastern sea board by now. If their voices weren’t so deep I swear the lot of them were girls. Still wouldn’t surprise me though if each of them were and just hid it well. Jason smiled feeling the need to explain his attire to Jadyn. “The trip was tiring, Russia was too cold, and Africa to hot. Brazil was nice though wish I could have seen more of God’s Eden the women are exactly like you hear they are and my shoe laces have more material to them then most of their clothes do. Only down side is this funky get up they wear there.” Jason popped his collar. Jason pulled out three documents out of his steel case sliding one to each of the other men. “If you don’t mind I will catch you up on the pleasantries latter. Sorry for the lack of legends on the graphs but you can understand why I wouldn’t want a document in my possessions that said whom I was dealing guns too. The percentages are accurate and the numbers below them are the dollar values in millions. The red shades denote our three African buyers. Just like you asked before I left 60% of the stock I am able to obtain will be sold in Africa making us the majority of our money. As a side note my previous estimate was wrong I said I could possibly obtain 1.8 times the stock I use to sale your uncle. Unfortunately that stock is only 1.65 times. I am still working out another supplier though. Continuing on the 40% of our stock is currently slated to be stock piled in a small African country being that you never told me what you had plans to do with it. However I took it upon myself to start getting it into the country but due to transport problems our current route into the US allows me only to get 20 or so guns into the country at a time I have been building up a stash in a near by city so if you are in dire need for arms I have some. The major reason I ran back here so fast is while in Brazil I meet an Argentinean man who for 19% of our weapons stock is willing to trade us a coffee plantation. All math said and done after the cost of the guns, workers wages and setting up a fake business the plantation will make us about 5 million over the next two years. Which is pocket change I know, but I would give us a direct trade route into the US and we could sneak guns into the country by the ton by hiding them in the coffee. My opinion is what good is it to have lots of guns sitting in surplus if we can’t get them into the country. It is better to start off with a trade route into the US before we become a massive empire.”

Jaydn listened intently as Jason reported his news to him, examining the papers given to him. He took a moment to consider the proposed plan. It seemed to work in their favor and Jason was right, what good was it to have a load of weapons at their disposal if they only sat about, gathering dust?

"It's unfortunate to hear about the stock but eventually there are bound to be some miscalculations. If another supplier does emerge that would be enough to cover what we need and hopefully more." He pulled his eyes away from the diagrams for a moment to focus on his weapons dealer. "As far as the coffee business goes, is there any chance of us convincing the man to be satisfied with perhaps 15% instead? Or have we already bartered down to the 19%?" If Jaydn was perhaps talking to some of his other men, he would have spared a question on whether or not they could trust the plantation's trader to remain tight-lipped on the matter but, knowing Jason as he did, the question would have been wasted here. If there was anyone here who would ensure that this business was kept a secret, it was Jason. Sometimes Jaydn felt that the man took it to a wholly paranoid level but then again, it was to be expected from someone who dealt daily with illegal arms. In any case, Jaydn appreciated it, it made his job infinitely more manageable.

When Jaydn had walked in, Miles looked up, humored. He had wanted to speak to Jaydn personally about his successful (for the most part) casino deal, but that was for another time. All attention was on Jason, and Miles listened to him talk, staring at the hands crossed in front him him in concentration. It was a large plan, and usually the larger the plan, the more likely there was something to go wrong. Miles wondered about any back up schemes, but that was for Jaydn to ask. Overall, it seemed like a auspicious deal, so might as well take the gamble.
Even if Miles didn't put all his chips on the table for Jason, he would for Jaydn.

Nori's head tilted slightly at Kyrin's laughter, but he didn't mind in the least if she was joyful.
He looked down and smiled at her compliments, always unsure how to handle them. "Thanks, yeah I just colored it this morning. My sister called, so I'm in a pretty good mood you can say." He looked back up again, glad that they both seemed to feel better after the previous night.
"How's your...? How are you feeling?"
He still wondered about what happened to her eye, but he trusted that she would tell him in time. They were close, but it wasn't her obligation to spill her guts all the time, and Nori figured that it was best to respect her privacy at times.

“Unfortunately 19 is the negotiated price, he wanted something like 24 when I first met with him. I may be able to get it down to 17- 18 percent but he seems like he might bail if I try to talk him down much further. If you want go through with it I can have business proposals and charters made up for our new coffee company within a week or so. Mind you it will be a while before international trade agreements get passed and this route becomes available to us. So my current route will need to make due for now.” Jason took off his glasses set them on the table and blinked a few times before replacing them on his face. Taking a deep breath he began again. “So with our foreign affairs all but formalized I have a few questions on out domestic affairs. I know you just got moved in and settled down but have you started to absorb any of the local gangs? I kind of need to get a rough estimate on how many street level people I will need to outfit. I would like to meet today with any higher ups you may have, that require weapons; so I can get to know their tastes just so I know if I need to start looking for anything exotic.

Kyrin was glad for Nori’s sister at that moment; glad that she could make him so happy. And thinking about that, Kyrin realized how upset she must have made Nori the night before. Settling herself in a chair she looked over at Nori, ”My eye aches, but I will be fine, just as long as this color goes away soon, its too prominent for my face and its going to get way too much attention.” She sighed, ”I’m sorry about last night.” She looked at the floor for a moment before looking back up at Nori, ”And like I said yesterday, Miles didn’t do it. He wouldn’t touch me in that way, he’s not stupid.” She placed his jacket on the table and said, ”There was a meeting last night with some powerful people in the city and Miles was going to gain some information. He was going to bring Charles, but Charles said that he couldn’t go…” She paused, ”And so I decided to go to see who was loyal to my Father and to let the people in the room know who they were dealing with in this city. I went even though Miles told me not to.”I should have listened to him, then I wouldn’t have this. She thought bitterly. ”Well, Miles was accused of cheating and tempers flared and a fight broke out. I ended the fight, in a rather brash and definite way after getting struck in the face. In all honesty if I could off the insolent man who hit me without causing a fuss, I would, but frankly…I can’t.” She shifted the ice to her eye again and said, ”I apologize again for the worry and I assure you it is my own fault for my eye.” She smiled, ”I will heal and we learned some valuable information.”

There was a moment of silence as Jaydn contemplated Jason's proposal. He nodded, "That will be fine as it is." He glanced at Miles, giving him leave to add in any information he may have that had yet to reach Jaydn, before he answered Jason's question. "We've begun taking over some of the local gangs, fortunately it seems they are much less of a threat than we had ever expected. Just boys playing a game, at best." Jaydn gave something of a scoff. "As far as meeting people goes, I agree that it would be best. We have some new faces among us."

“I would be careful whom you say such things too. If my memory serves right about twelve or so years ago a Californian politician once made the same comment about a local gang called the river side boys. He had said they were just boys playing around and he was going to reach out to them. I think…don’t hold me to it but, I believe the politician’s wife and two daughters were killed while he was out one night; all because of the comments he had made. Cops never found the party responsible. Remember a child with a gun is more deadly than a man with one; kids know no fear and adults wish not to kill them.” Though his face never showed it Jason remembered the night he spoke of with perfect clarity. It had been ten years ago. Marcus and three other gang members had taken Jason with them to do “work” for the gang. Work implied do what it took to ensure the safety of the gang and its territory. They broke into the house of the politician and proceeded to show him just how dangerous it is to underestimate the river side boys.

At Jason's last comment, Jaydn gave something of a knowing smile but nothing more than that. The Mafia Prince was well aware of how uninhibited a child was with a gun, his childhood had not consisted of just sunshine and puppies.

He pushed back from his desk, signaling a dismissal. "Go ahead and take an hour to get settled in. There should be a room available for you to stay in on the 16th floor. I believe room..." Jaydn pulled open an adjacent drawer, shuffling through a few files and slipping out a piece of paper. He glanced at the sheet for a moment before continuing, "591 should be free. The connecting room is being occupied however so don't be too surprised if you find another man in the bathroom there. You'll be sharing it." He slipped the paper back into the drawer, shutting it.

He stood, speaking now to both Jason and Miles, "I'll be calling a meeting on the tenth floor conference room in an hour from now." He paused for a moment then said as an aside to the weapons man, "Each of the floors require an access code that you enter into the elevator. Security purpose. Miles, if you could escort Jason to our living floor and supply him with the codes to that floor and the tenth, I would appreciate it. Jason, I can give you the other codes to the floors you need at a later time. Are there any other questions that need to be addressed now?"
