Zepia Eltnam Oberon Save for Toastie, Amigo, the Count and Fortenra, none of the old characters have their previous Resonance Souls.
Also, Toastie's Phoenix Heart has changed a bit. It's no longer 1 death every 30 minutes. It's true immortality, as of yet. In other words, Toastie can be killed over and over and over again.
In the original story, after dying Toastie would simply come back to life with her wounds healed. The new Toastie, on the other hand, comes back to lie as a phoenix in mythology would - from flames.
You could say that new Toastie is more powerful than original Toastie. Then why the crap does she not become a regular fighter like the rest? She either shoots fire or does nothing, despite not being able to die. XD

Cause Toastie hasn't been trained in martial arts and that crap. XD
You could say that it's because of her Resonance Soul. Because she is virtually immortal, she doesn't feel the need to avoid the attacks of her enemies. If needed, she can block them by summoning a wall of thick fire to absorb attacks, but she finds that too annoying. Also, her fire is stronger than normal fire, especially when it changes color.
Resonance Soul doesn't depend on ki. It depends on the Soul itself. How strong a Resonance Soul is depends on 1) the Soul itself, 2) the experience of the user and 3) how well the user can use said Soul. Personal strength has nothing to do with it. Of course, Resonance Souls do have side effects - Fortenra's Decay Arm saps away his life, and other characters will have Resonance Souls that tax their body or the like.
The Count's Resonance Soul, the Jade Armor (or Quetzalcoatl Armor) isn't really that impressive when taken in context - it allows him to turn into a mass of butterflies, paralyze people with his eyes and turn into stone. But when you consider his experience with it, he becomes one of the stronger characters in the story. His Jade Form becomes an unbreakable barrier, his Crimson Butterfly allows him to evade attacks easily while providing chances for sneak attacks and his Emerald Eyes can momentarily stun enemies or can be used to hypnotize those with weak minds.
When extremely pissed off, she can go into an overload and become a literal phoenix, but she has to die to do so. Toastie doesn't really have the... body for fighting, and trading punches and so on tire her out.
Just to clarify one thing... the fact that everyone is getting the crap beat out of them by Shoy is not because they're weak, it's because Shoy is THAT strong. If I were to make a tier, Shoy would be a top tier character. There's nothing really flashy about him, but he excels in virtually every standard. If he was in a fighting game, he'd have an A+ class in Strength, Speed, Defense, Ki and Technique, along with other stats.
Toastie still has more tricks up her sleeve, of course. What was she trying to do before Azrael stopped her, I wonder?

She either shoots fire or does nothing, despite not being able to die. XD But a nearly endless ability to shoot super phoenix fire is a pretty good advantage. Her opponents can get exhausted after a while but she can still get in plenty of attacks. Everyone's getting more kick a** with every new chapter. =o Edit: About time all guild posts weren't 'general errors'.

Edmond Dantes Man, that's what I've been saying. Experience is where it's at! Also, are we gonna see one of those Omake chapters anytime soon? Yeah... buuuuuuuut.... Er, I guess the best way to say this would be to use an expression of sorts... No matter how well you can swim, trying to outswim a tsunami is a futile effort... (or would that be "run"... since when one rolls in, it sucks the water away? o.o) Either way... I guess it'd be like, no matter how much fighting experience a human has, if he tries to kill a god, it's not going to end well for the mortal... Shoy might not be a God, but he's not weak... Then again, it looks like he's enjoying the fight with the kiddies a little too much... o.o( )

Alright, I FINALLY read the ENTIRE story up to current. And I'd like to know: What is a Resonance Soul? I mean I realize it's a power or whatever, but are you born with it? 'cause as I was reading this I was trying to figure out how Q'd fit in (lolol I'm such an egotist) and the Resonance soul part eluded me. Though it'd be kind of cool if Q wore a collar to prevent himself from using his Resonance soul purposefully. Or was kind of like a servant to someone else because of the collar. Kind of like Toya from Ceres. Except less lame and lovestruck. And no ability to take his own collar off. I'm lame. emo Anyway cool story. Loved the omake.

Zepia Eltnam Oberon Resonance SoulResonance Soul is simply a word I made up at the spur of the moment for special abilities belonging to characters of the story, and each is unique in its own right. The Resonance Souls can generally be divided into the following groups: Arm and Leg, which deal with offensive powers, Body, which deals with defensive powers, and Head, which deals with mental powers.Type-2 Resonance SoulType-2 Resonance Souls are enhanced Resonance Souls, breaking free of the limits set on the normal Resonance Souls. The Type-2 Resonance Souls are the Gauntlet (enhanced version of Arm), the Greave (enhanced version of Leg), the Armor (enhanced version of Body) and Helmet (enhanced version of Head). Unlike their former counterparts, Type-2 Resonance Souls are not limited to one job - a Gauntlet can be used for offense and well as defense.HeartHeart-Type Resonance Souls are unique Resonance Souls that contain abilities that surpass any other, and are owned by a chosen few. Little is known about them, but their power is not to be doubted. I dug this up from the first thread... http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=8407563I didn't include the lists of Resonance Souls because most of them are different from before...

Danke, Triskellion, Danke.
I've been thinking about creating a Guide / Terminology section so people know what's what in this story. I just haven't been able to yet due to school and s**t.
As for [Q], your character's role hasn't changed by much. XP Not that any of you know what [Q]'s role was supposed to be in the original story. But still, [Q] is a major character in the storyline, bitches.
