Joe dropped the wind shield and put his hands on his knees. "I think...I'll just save up my energy...for when we actually need it," he said, glancing up the hall. "We should get rolling soon."

"Alright, but be sure to follow quickly. I can only step through two shadows from the same light source" With that warning, she set off down the corridor, confident in the darkness, and entered the hidden room, stepping immediateley into her own shadow and popping up several yards away, behind a group of severely confused men with knives, as a fireball whizzed past the spot she had been standing and out the door into the hallway. before anyone recaught sight of her, she clubbed one in the back of the head with the humerus and took his knife, hoping that the rest of the warlocks would show up soon.

Takeshi followed immediately, hopping skillfully over bars and squeezing through to the entrance as they turned. He eliminated two of the Forsaken men with his handgun, then released a wind blast, yelling "Watch out!" at Kayla. She ducked behind a Forsaken, who was launched into her. She held her ground; the man was broken by the force.

Takeshi groaned. Too much magic was taking its toll. He tried to move to the side of the room.

And then a Beast screamed its way past him at Forsaken.

Joe dashed up the corridor after Takeshi and the Beast, leaping nimbly through the bars and landing lightly on the balls of his feet. He rolled immediately in case any attacks were aimed at him.
He glanced over and saw that Takeshi was struggling to stay alive. Joe blasted a fireball into a Forsaken that was approaching him, then ran over and put Takeshi's arm over his shoulder. "You can't be here alone and undefended," he said. "That Chameleonic is still unaccounted for."

Siber sprinted down the hallway, only getting caught up in the bars once or twice, and stepped into the mayhem. The errant fireball singed his hair as it sped by, and he immediately took out Leo and set him on defense mode. The rodent squeaked with effort and practically teleported to block two incoming spheres of flame. "Those bastards! I can't keep this up, Siber; you need to kill one and find cover!"
"Can do. Don't worry about all of them- I can dodge some."
He just hoped those behind him would have spread out so they weren't caught by surprise.
He looked around in a low stance for anything to hide behind; there wasn't much. As the Beast barrelled past him, though, he realized that if the enemy all stayed out in the open like this, they wouldn't need to find cover- their foe would die fairly quickly. So that he could at least say to have done something, he snatched Leo from the air and, giving the squirrel a quick command to kill, launched it at a Forsaken taken by surprise by Takeshi's wind blast. The man was quickly minus one throat, and Leo came back to him to set up defenses again.

Siber almost hit himself. Duh. He should have thought of that. "Joe! If you set up a wind wall around me, I can hit them from within it!" For the moment, he kept moving, unable to find another opening, and snapped the aura into existence, hoping he'd get lucky.

Joe shot a glance over at Siber. "I'm on it!"
He brought Takeshi with him as he came and stood back-to-back with Siber. He quickly brought the energy together and threw it up in time to deflect a volley of fireballs. "Quickly, I can't keep doing this," he said over his shoulder, blasting a fireball into a Forsaken that had popped up to attack.

{...Puglith is ready...}

Kayla stabbed one last foresaken in the trachea and sat down on the floor. She released Oscurfillius and before the channel closed, brought Puglith forth. Her skin cracked loudly, and the distinctive red scales popped up on her arms and her eyes took on a dep yellow tint. A foresaken came at her with what looked like a serrated machete. She blocked it with the scaled back of her forearm as she rose slowly, taking her time. Puglith was relishing the feeling of having an earthly body, and she was unable to hurry straight off the bat. After a few seconds' lag, though, she punched the poor man so hard in the chest that it left a dent. "ALL RIIIIGHT!" She then set about cutting a straight swathe through the crowd of forsaken, whooping loudly as she drove her fists into bodies that subsequently dropped like ragdolls.

After a few moments, the forsaken caught onto the fact that someone of enormous brute strength had appeared, and focused a greater effort on exterminating the new threat. Kayla was forced to partially abandon her assault, devoting her time instead to dodging fireballs. One caught her full on, and she was only just able to cross her arms in front of her to absorb most of the damage. Her scales hissed and popped as they cooled, now scorched. A few fell out. Apparently they weren't that good for absorbing magical blows. With a snarl, she leapt after the one who had hit her so dead on and literally tore his face off. All the forsaken in the general area hesitated for a moment, as she looked back over her shoulder with an enraged leer on her face and her clothes dripping someone else's blood. The effect was rather ruined, though, when she suddendly staggered forwards. She lashed out quickly behind her, and grazed what felt like a bit of cloth with her fingertips. "The chameleonic!" As soon as she said the words, she recieved a strong blow from an invisible source straight to the face, sending her to the ground.

He followed leisurely, allowing his Beast to do his part. A lopsided smile seemed fixed on his face, and his eyes betrayed amusement. As he slid between the last of the bars he took a look at the battlefield. His Beast and Kayla were being pushed back and Kayla seemed to be taking blows from an unknown source. The Beast wouldn't last much longer, but it was enjoying itself, so he left it. The others were all gathered behind an air shield. He subconsciously dodged a fireball from someone who noticed him. A Firebat answered. His grin widened. This was fun. Shift.

Erik struggled against an invisible current, pushing him back from reality. He needed to take control. It was getting harder for him to even tell what was going on outside his body. He pushed, trying desperately to get some sort of grasp on himself. Shift.

Tomas was completely lost in ecstasy. Feelings! Real feelings washed over him. Something was pushing him, though. Something was trying to push him back. He turned his attention to it, raging against this force trying to steal his pleasure.

Siber saw Kayla fall and since he wasn't too far away, swung the aura away from him and around her. Immediately, the hidden forsaken shimmered into existence and let out a pale shriek as his Chameleonic collapsed around him and crushed his mind. The concentration to send it out had weakened Siber, though, and he had to simply keep Leo near him.
He could tell Joe's shield was wavering, and saw Kayla still on the ground amongst a crowd of Forsaken. Takeshi was holding his own, but barely. "Takeshi! Come over here and add your strength to Joe's! We can remain defensive while the Beast deals with them, or until one of us regains enough strength to attack again." He looked to call over Erik, too, but something was wrong with the kid- he didn't look like he would respond if called, and seemed to be having a fun enough time lobbing Firebats and deflecting enemy blows.
Siber dismissed Leo and brought up Firage as quickly as possible, which was, to say the least, difficult.
"Go get Kayla. Keep her safe." He sat down and tried to gather more light energy, but it didn't do any good.

He crouched to catch his breath, ready to move at a moment's notice but really hoping he wouldn't have to for a while. While sitting, he watched through his Ajna, everything he could. He would learn this new subject, even if he couldn't perform all of it.

Joe closed his eyes, and a moment later the shield solidified. "I can hold it for a while if I need to," he said, "but we need to get somewhere safer. Let's get back to the wall so I can make this into a semi-circle wind-shield. I imagine it'll use less energy."

Paul pulled the slide back slightly, checking to see a round was in the chamber. "Let's get on the move." He reached into his pocket, looking for anything else he could give power. His iPod Nano came to his fingers.

Robert... could I possibly integrate my magic with the software of my Nano?

So the trigger would be the software... an advantage, yet a disadvantage.

Moving for the door, he began focusing, trying to infuse magic into his iPod.

Samuel sighed and changed the channel. Someone was watching him. Someone good. In all reality, it was probably the Hunters in the town. He would just lie low in his hotel until he got a contact from someone. It would hardly be worth the effort going elsewhere. He looked at the TV rather disinterestedly. What a day... He came to LA, found a hotel room, and lounged around all day. This lacked the intensity he had expected, but it wasn't too bad, really. Just like a vacation, only he wasn't allowed to relax his defenses at any time. Only one key difference.

Once the Chameleonic was taken down, Kayla was able to regain her footing and start brawling again, sending men flying away from her like paper dolls. She was starting to tire out, though, and began moving towards the others. "This is ridiculous...I can barely think straight like this...with all this strength..." where Oscurfillius had magnified her ability to think and plan with Takeshi, Puglith had robbed her of a lot of cleverness in favor of incredible strength. She grabbed the nearest forsaken by the forearm and swing him in a circle, giving her some space to catch her breath.

"All right, we're gonna clean this room out now!" Takeshi yelled. He finished loading a new clip into his gun, wasting the rest of the bullets from the previous one. "Joe, drop the shield... now!"

Bam. Bam. Bam. He began to systematically work his way down the line, making headshots on each as he went. Mirroring his motions, Erik began to drop the firebat on each Forsaken, working his way across the room from the other direction. The Beast and Kayla each had a crowd of Forsaken dodging around them.

"Here's my last good magic shot! It's mundane only for me after this!" Takeshi called out. A quick focusing motion to shape his magic, and away went his fireball. His orb hit one Forsaken and a serpent-shaped flame burst forth from his chest, winding through the Forsaken, each one penetrated cleanly through the chest by its movement. As Takeshi lurched to the ground, each of the Forsaken fell as well with holes in their ********," Takeshi muttered, and passed out. Before anyone could react, darkness consumed the room.

"Impressive," came Legion's voice. "But alas, we must cut our fun short. The plane arrived too soon; the warlock is already within the city." The darkness faded and they found themselves within their rooms. "I regret you will not have a period of rest before we set out. Meet in main hall in five minutes."

((Umm, i don't have the firebat, since i'm not a demoniac...just a heads-up. xd ))

Joe shook his head. "Maybe this'll be more difficult than I thought," he muttered to no one in particular. He opened his door and trudged down to the main hall.
