Did you not see the announcement? Go here and find your character's wish/name and it'll tell you how they're being affected while at the beach. The hex or whatever's moved to stage two, it's getting pretty good =D

Man, I'm almost sad I haven't gotten around to making my second character.
That guy would've had the greatest meltdown ever!
It makes me giggle just thinking about it. ;u; Ah, so sorry for not responding to you sooner.

I can't say I know what's causing it, but anyone who is at the beach for the New Year's festival is having their worst nightmare--or at least whatever is based on their New Years resolution-- manifesting in really frightening ways.
If you signed up for New Years then you should have something going on with your character that they can't help or control at all.
The link posted above by SoujiAtsumi should take you to where it tells you what your character is supposed to be experiencing right now.

I'm guessing that all the chaos will stop whenever the new day arrives?
(Maybe not, it might end up getting crazier)
But if you really wanted, you could still experince it away from the beach.
I don't think anyone would be angry over you not wanting to miss out on all the action!
