Anetra_Pendragon I think Audley sent the payment in advance, since he asked to "get refunded" before the account was hacked.
I did - because I trusted them. Don't laugh (; I do still trust them and I wouldn't call this an issue of untrustworthiness on their part - just a major lack of inspiration and motivation, I think. Still, frustration-plus that I can't really contact them because they have a policy of not reading messages - I guess that goes hand-in-hand with no motivation, though. I don't really want to get a mod involved because the artist hasn't purposefully set out to rip me off, and I appreciate their plight because I can be a slacker about communication and a lot of other things besides, but still ... what else can I do? Except nothing, of course .

Cuz uhm, he's the one that mucked it all up to begin with.

Assuming they filled a hack report, they should be able to get their gold back, but it will likely be a very long wait. If you think they'll honor the refund and you can stick it out, go for it. Otherwise, get a mod involved (an art forums mod). They won't be able to refund your gold, but they can let the artist know that they need to get your art to you 'or else'...

I think taking it to a mod or at least letting the artist know it CAN be taken to a mod is definitely your best option.

Extremely painless - in this case I can have someone else intervene on my behalf (don't laugh - I'm saying that a lot - but I do have a longstanding not-done real dosh commission with this artist, as well).

I dont know what I'd do in that situation really...
But you should get your refund or art.
The logical thing would be for them to just go ahead and do the art?
They lost your money but their hands weren't chopped off or anything so... =x
