For a split second, Celia wondered at what had just happened...Sure, she had sent the spike at the demon, but she hadn't really been aiming...it had been intended to be a warning shot. However, she had almost seen it turn in the air, directing itself straight into a weak spot of the Yokai's neck muscle...The knight certainly hadn't meant to kill him.

Regardless, now she had to defend herself from the other two, and they were out for nothing short of obviously bloody revenge. In an instant she found herself using one of the needle-like weapons she wore as decoration to block a sword. Even she was slightly suprised, finding that she had reacted as quickly as she had. Another suprise followed after it; her sword was drawn, with her weaker left hand, and suddenly the demon was in two.

Celia only just managed to block another attack from the remaining demon thanks to Kahaku, who snapped her out of the slight daze she had slipped into after realizing how easily she had killed the first and second.

It took a while, but not too long, before, finally, all the enemies were finished off and the calm began to settle again. Reports would have to be made up tot he War Room about the final status and any minor damages or wounds acquired would have to be patched up. It was now, when everything had finally simmered down that the fighter who Aiketh sent up to the Lord was able to go over to the Officer and report back to her.

"Captain? The Dragon Lord had a reply for your earlier report, but you dieappeared before I could tell. I was to tell you that he wanted you to either protect the Lady with your life or bring her back to the castle," he told her, at last giving her the (delayed) orders.

Said lady was at that very moment standing close to her youkai companion, listening to him speaking low to her. Obviously, their conversation was of a private nature if the demon's secretive demeanor was anything to judge by.

Celia wandered back toward the castle, frankly still very confused as to what had happened so suddenly...She left the three corpses on the ground where they fell; her report wouldn't be hard to make...The knight could certainly detail the fatal wounds she inflicted if needed, but...Frankly, she hadn't meant to make them fatal.

Her mind buzzed a little bit, as she looked at her sword...She was going to have to clean it before the blood set into the steel...after all, Kahaku had to live in there on occasion, and she could hardly think that he of all beings would want to see the world through a crimson-tainted window.

"I see." Aiketh nodded as she sent her sword back to the space between the dimensions; the blade was spelled be cleaned there. She sighed, looking back at the castle. She needed to go back and make her report and, especially, explain herself. "Return to the castle and tell the Dragon Lord I will be returning just as soon as I finish up here." Aiketh looked over the field; none of her men had died or were seriously hurt. That was good. Baran... well, she would deal with him later. Some additional training, hopefully, would settle him into place. If he did not shape up, however, she did not want to think what would have to be done about him. Taking hold of her necklace once more, Aiketh teleported to the scene of the other battle.

"My apologies," she said, ducking into a hasty bow as she stepped back from Micoi and Kanak to give them a little privacy and personal space. She glanced around; as before, no harm seemed to have fallen anyone on their side. "I'm on my way to make my report. Anything out of the unusual?" Aiketh turned to Kushina, including her in the question.

Baran winced as the Black Dragon Officer vanished. He had made a complete fool of himself. "Hey," he turned, almost shyly, to Liozu. "...Sorry about that." He rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment. "I really froze up..." his voice drifted off as he finished his words, and he shook his head.

Next time, Baran promised himself. Next time I'll do better.

The moment Aiketh appeared, the two of them kind of froze up for a second, Kanak seemingly more so, and then he turned his head the other way. Was it just the post-battle tension or was the feeling that he glared at her, without even looking at the officer, justified? Had she interrupted something important?

Glancing at the youkai who was looking in the other direction, Micoi then turned her head towards Aiketh and Kushina and gave a small, somewhat strained?, smile and shake of her head to answer the question. After that she quickly turned back to her friend and, placing a hand on his arm, began talking to him again with a near inaudible voice. The queen-to-be and the youkai went a few steps away from the two officers as they continued to talk.

Shaking her head, Kushina surveyed the corpses of the demons with a narrow stare, her gaze then flickering over the small assembled group and further, seemingly seeking for whatever threat could remain.

"Nothing. I'm quite annoyed, though, that they even got this far... My father would be displeased." Kushina shrugged and the grin that clove her face was almost manic. "Of course, he'd also have been extremely displeased I would let the Queen to be go anywhere close to a battle," Kushina laughed with a shrug, and pointed with her sword back towards the castle before the sword dematerialized.

"So let us go and make the Lord aware of the result of this situation."

Indeed you did, useless, pathetic little worm. But Empress couldn't voice this thought. The one most suspectible to her... "charms" had to be a friendly, open type, didn't they? Besides being a man, that was. So instead Empress had Liozu smile, and clapped Baran firmly on one shoulder, shaking his head.

"Don't worry about it. Experience comes with situations like these. Next time you'll know how you react and compensate for it," Liozu's smile was bright and friendly, though Empress would rather have moved her hand just a bit and strangled the worm. Turning back up the street, Empress shrugged.

"Let's go back, hmm? I want to check up on Ana." The smile was certainly sincere now though no difference could be told from it, because indeed the thought of "checking up" on Ana was a pleasant one. If only this body wasn't in the way..!

Aiketh nodded. She could trust Baran to make sure the others got back to the castle. That was basic enough... and he had Liozu with him. She made a mental note to thank the Earth Dragon Knight the next chance she got. By this time she and Kushina were already walking back towards the palace. It was a short walk, disturbingly so, and Aiketh was running this fact over in her mind as they went. What would have happened if Celia had not chanced to spot them? Where was the flaw in their security? She had been on the walls of the palace herself shortly before leaving for the battle and she had been able to see them from there, but only barely, and this was quite some time after Celia and Baran's report. The Dragon Fighters up there certainly had not been sleeping on the job. If it was possible to sneak so near to the castle without being detected... something needed to be done, and yesterday. Furthermore, and just as disturbing, why had the demons shown no sign of being repulsed by the Dragon Lord's barrier? There was less magic in the world, true, but the barrier about the Dragon Castle should still be there... was still there, unless Baran had failed to report its disappearance to her and judging by the small wince that he offered up whenever they rode onto its grounds, it had not. So then... what?

Baran, oblivious to the seething disgust just under the surface, smiled at Liozu. He had not really expected a response, although he knew the Earth Dragon Knight was a friendly person. "Thanks," he said honestly, then looked back at the other Fighters already finished getting their things together and preparing for the walk back, one of them holding the reins of Aiketh's darna and offering it to Liozu. They moved out, Baran not speaking again, although he glanced sidelong at the other man several times as they rode.

Ana was hovering outside one of the side entrances to the castle near the stables, waiting and craning her neck to try and see further down the path. As the Fighters and Liozu appeared, she gave a small muffled gasp and ran out to meet them, discarding any remaining illusion of working as she was supposed to be.

"Are you alright?" She came up to the darna Liozu was riding on and looked up into the Earth Dragon Knight's face, worry etching itself onto her own. She blushed as she realized that all the others were staring at her, and realized she was not at all sure Liozu did not want this sort of attention in front of them or at this moment, just after he returned. "I... I brought you this," she added hurridedly, pulling out a small basket.

Empress had been aware of Baran's glances, but had for the most pretended not to notice, except once, when she gave him a friendly-foolish grin. She was not stupid. This was just at the beginning of her stay here, and she could not afford to even let those less acquaintanced with Liozu, but who would still undoubtedly know of his nature, see anything different with his behaviour.

When Ana appeared and ran out to meet them, though, Empress could easily forget her stupid theater. Smiling widely, but reigning in the predatory air as much as she was able (she was a youkai, after all), Empress gracefully swung down from the darna and squeezed Ana's upper arm.

"That's really nice of you, Ana. So, what is it?" Smiling gently, she nonetheless couldn't stop bending down and kissing Ana's temple before the girl had a chance to answer.

"Not that anything could be sweeter than you, of course." Then Empress stood back, though kept a light hand on Ana's upper arm, to let the girl show her the contents of the basket. She wouldn't have minded the sweet, sweet blood of a dragon drizzled over the flesh of one of her own, but, alas, such things could not be expected, so she would take what she got.

"I.. um..." Ana had a sudden urge to giggle, one that was tempered only by her equally strong desire to flee out of embarrassment. She was aware of the looks of the Dragon Fighters as Liozu kissed her lightly and she flushed red, rooted to the spot. "I, I thought you might be hungry." She finished somewhat lamely, busying herself with opening the basket so as to avoid their gaze, friendly though it might be. The basket was now revealed to be one for picnics, although relatively small in size, and it contained a small assortment of food, packed away carefully in bento-style.

((Sorry. I'm super tired. @_@))

Laughing softly, for Empress was indeed delighted with all this, she nodded, then gently brushed Ana's cheek to get her attention and look up again.

"Are you busy now? Otherwise I'd love some company, and you can answer that question I had for you," Empress said quietly, letting a soft smile form on Liozu's face. It was always rather hard to know what expressions you affected on someone else's face, but she had taken the time to study Liozu's while she did grimaces, since she was going to be in this body for a while.

"I... I need to, um..." Ana glanced back towards the entrance to the castle. She was honestly torn; while she did still need to finish some things up, she also wanted almost desperately to go with Liozu. "I'm sorry," she stepped back, dipping her head hastily in apology. "I'll be right back!" Ana ran off quickly. She knew a couple of the other girls there owed her favors. Hopefully she could get one of them to cover for her.

Baran had been trying not to stare as this scene played out before them, and now he slid off of his darna and took the reins of Aiketh's from one of the other fighters, leading them both into the stables. In all honesty he was somewhat jealous. Not because of how Ana was acting, but because the Earth Dragon Knight made it look so easy. Was he really not struggling at all? Baran shook his head as he unsaddled the animals, a slightly twisted smile on his face. Still, he had to admit that it only made him admire him more. Even if he was envious of him for more than he would care to admit, he still wished to be like the Knight and he still felt as though that was an obtainable goal.

"Liozu," Baran called as he stepped back out into the open, the rest of the fighters already have dispersed back towards the HQ. "Do you want me to take your darna for you?" He glanced towards the castle as Ana hurried back out, looking both flustered and rather freshened up, as if she had been trying to make herself look more presentable in a hurry.

Micoi had considered sneaking off on the way back into and through the castle. It wasn't like she needed to report anything to the Dragon Lord after all but a first gently and then pointedly cleared throat (courtesy of Aiketh) the two times she'd taken a step away from behind the officers had kind of scored the point home. She seemingly wasn't going to be allowed to leave... right now anyway. That Black Dragon Officer noticed more than was healthy to her Micoi decided, grumbling about how the dragon couldn't possibly have any private life if that was how she always was. She'd somehow gotten a feeling that the woman was glaring at her... while still looking straight ahead! Creepy woman.

As the small group finally arrived at the doors to the War Room and a knock had been landed on the wood to announce them, the Secretary of the State had opened the door and greeted them. As the door was held open for them, Micoi glanced at it before sliding a foot to the side, preparing the slide away across the floor sideways. "Ahh... you don't need me and all, you know, so I'll just, eh, remove myself... kthxbye!" The words came out in a jumbled mix on the end as she made to turn and dash away down the hall.

Aiketh started to turn and reach for Micoi, but gave up halfway through. She was back in the palace, after all, and that was really all that mattered. "Lord Jett," Aiketh turned back to face the two men in the room, entering through the door a beat after Kushina (who had not bothered moving to go after the Queen-to-be...) and giving a nod in thanks to Illusia. "Should we present the preliminary report now?" This part was not, of course, in paper for the records. That would have to be done later, after things settled down a little. There was not time for that, not yet.

Neith, standing at the base of one of the many flights of stairs in the castle, watched as the eyes of the young woman she was giving instructions too suddenly flicked wide, shooting a glance off to the side at something over her shoulder. She turned around, not sure whether to laugh or yell, as Micoi skidded down the hallway above them, looking back in the direction she had come from.

"Wait here." Neith said to the maid, beginning to walk up the steps towards the other. "Micoi," she called, her voice loud only to get the other's attention. "Wait a moment."

The young dragon must have been surprised, or scared, however you now look on it, because she practically jumped into the air. Or, correction, she did, letting out a scream of surprise and landing on the upper torso of a statue standing between two window at the top of the stairs that she'd been about to pass by. Clinging to the white marble, huging the statue's head to her chest, the Queen-to-be stared down at Neith, blinking wide eyes every other second, as the older woman came towards her.

"Uh... hi," crap, damn, hell, "and, uh, bye..." she said, intent on leaving soon again. That soon being now.

"Get down from there," Neith said briskly, apparently not too surprised herself. She waited until Micoi was standing on the ground, poised to run at any second before continuing. "I don't have much time, but... How was it?"
