Kasiya smiled and nodded, glad that Keegan had wanted to go with her. It had been a while since they'd really hung out together, as the morning after the Breeder's Gala and earlier today didn't really count in her mind, mostly because there had been others with them. She replayed the battle between Nova and Pan in her mind, wondering when (or even if) the two would ever have a rematch. The Grovyle had put up one heck of a fight, and Kasiya was eager to see just how much stronger he'd grow under Keegan's watchful eye. Keegan's an amazing trainer, she thought as she used her key card to enter the room assigned to the girls. Especially with all the facts and knowledge he's picked up over the years working at his parents' breeding center. I kinda envy him for that. She dressed quickly, finding a semi-clean outfit in her bag - one of several pairs of form-fitting shorts, the grey t-shirt she'd borrowed from Keegan a while ago, and a green hoodie (that more resembled a jacket than anything else) that she'd worn once or twice before. She also put on her hip bag, a fresh pair of socks and her sturdy boots before she ran her brush through her hair, and after several failed attempts to get it up in the same style she'd worn when she was waitressing at the Gala, she opted to keep it down, which felt strange. It fell down just past her shoulders now, and she smiled as she twirled the ends in her fingertips. It had already grown at least an inch or two since she'd haphazardly chopped it off that day on the beach, and she smiled to herself. Sometimes she missed her long hair, but she definitely didn't miss all the upkeep that went with it.
She checked the time on her PokeNav as she exited the room, making sure all six Pokeballs on her belt were in their rightful place as she headed towards the lobby. She was a couple of minutes late, but she didn't think Keegan would care too much about that.
=-=-=-=-= Bidoof threw a look over her shoulder as Ace felled the Geodude with a strong hit, and she frowned, snarling a bit to show that she had this end of the fight under control. Her undying desire to prove herself outweighed all common sense at this point, and upon seeing the Gible launch herself forward in a Tackle, Bidoof felt obliged to do the same. She could hear Jake calling for her to use Quick Attack instead, but she had to prove that her Tackle was better than Gible's Tackle! With a sharp snarl she launched herself forward, throwing as much of her weight behind her attack as she could manage. The two Pokemon collided heavily against each other, though it was hard to tell which of them had the upperhand.
Jake sighed and shook his head. "Anger control issues," he muttered, looking over at Robin. Watching Milton and Nancy together however, while disturbing on nearly every level imaginable, also made Jake wonder again if he and Robin had been 'more than friends' in his 'other life'. He gulped and looked back at the two brawling Pokemon again. "Come on, Bidoof!" he shouted, trying to keep his mind on the fight. "Are you going to let that puny little thing show you up?" He figured he might as well use her anger to her advantage, as at least she had that going for her.

Leon almost snorted a bit. He was fairly certain that the Geodude could have avoided the Giga Drain attack if it had simply had enough sense to move to the side, but it wasn’t his Pokémon, so whatever. He averted his eyes once again as the girl’s shirt proved that it couldn’t quite handle her bosom and a button came flying off. As cold as he seemed, Leon was still a boy, and he felt a bit of blood rush to his face as he tried to keep his eyes off of the woman’s chest.
Ghos was having a completely different issue, however, as the rock hit him dead on and sent him flying backwards. It wasn’t that bad of a hit, but the attack had still hurt, and he would rather not have to face it again. ”Night Shade,” Leon said, shifting his eyes from the side to his Pokémon, and trying to hold them there. Ghos floated back towards their opponent’s Geodude, suddenly appearing—to the Geodude, at least—to suddenly begin to grow larger and larger until he was towering over the Rock- and Ground-type.

Mahnaz sighed as she rode up the small hill, looking at the fields they had no choice but to pass. She saw Spearow flying overhead, but nothing past that. Maipe yawned in boredom. This has got to be the most boring trip ever, the young Growlithe thought. While protective, he was extremely impatient. He jumped off the bike and followed his master closely; running made him less tired. "Lithe," he said next to her, saying "Are we there yet?" "Almost," she answered. "Cerulean is over this last hill, then we jump over a slight ledge and we're in." But, we're going to Pewter, and no one will be going that direction if they're here. Maybe I'll travel with them for a while and train and just explore. We'll see, if I meet anyone. she looked up and saw the outline of the city. Perfect.

Daemyn's opponent, it appeared, was a dinosaur looking thing that M.A. and her team had never seen before, none of them being Sinnoh natives. But whatever. A Pokemon was a Pokemon was a Pokemon and Daemyn wasn't about to lose to Ulani in how quickly he took it down.
M.A. whipped out her Pokedex from her blue side satchel to figure out what this new thing was -- it was kinda cool lookin' -- although she kinda figured out the Pokemon's name was from its roar. "RAAAAAMPAAAAAAAARDOS!" What an intimidating roar. Not as intimidating as Daemyn, though, on a bad morning. Rock type, huh? Wouldn't be easy for Daemyn to just muscle through with his usual arsenal of attack moves, then.
"Daemyn, don't bother with that Ember you're starting up, it won't do much," M.A. cautioned airily, partially distracted by the camera glued to her face. The Houndoom, somewhat astonished by the the warning -- he was about to duke this battle out on his own, per usual, and show 'Lani the real way battles were held. But M.A.'s tone, albeit aloof, had been serious, and so he complied to her next order -- thrusting his head upward, he called forth the heat of the sun to pour upon them in an almost invasive way. M.A. felt a little woozy under the heat and inconspicuously leaned against Tora's broad back once more; never mind this, she thought to herself, fidgeting with her camera. This battle would make for a killer shot in a second; she hadn't gotten to catch a very good frame with Lani, but she might here. This was kinda fun for her, catching the strength and sincere effort of these Pokemon into something tangible, something permanent, more permanent than herself in any case.
"Throwing away a turn, eh!" the other girl cried, still somewhat peeved that Lani had defeated her Drifblim so easily a second ago. "We won't even give you a chance to survive this next round! Rampardos, Ancientpower!"
The Head Butt Pokemon glimmered underneath the midday sun, gathering all of its prehistoric strength (whatever that means for a fossil, anyways), before rushing at Daemyn.
"Alright, Daemyn. I taught you this a while back, but I hope you remember it," M.A. said, snapping away, her voice calm and slow despite the incoming dinosaur. Daemyn shot a glare back at her -- what the heck was she doing? He was about to get steamrolled, here! -- just for a moment, before she said the next word. "Solarbeam." Oh. So that was what she was getting at, Daemyn thought vaguely to himself, as he opened his vicious jaws wide and let loose a powerful greenish-white stream of pure energy.
That Rampardos didn't have a chance. And though Daemyn felt quite accomplished with that last, flashy move of his, he couldn't call it a complete victory over Ulani since he had needed M.A.'s help with that one, and that made him retain that earlier discomfort, that insecurity that maybe, just perhaps, he wasn't the strongest kid on the block anymore.

Posh the Roselia watched, entranced, as the Bellossom and Roserade continued their perilous dance among razor sharp, shining leaves and dangerously beautiful petals. The two possessed perfect control over every aspect of their actions; besides dodging each and every volley of organic ammunition sent their direction, they perfectly controlled their attacks as to allow the petals and leaves to drift harmlessly away, after clearly missing their target, as to not destroy the surrounding area. It was beautiful, this precision, this grace.
The Petal Dances the two were doing were taking their toll, however, as the Pokemon began to stagger about a bit, taking a brief reprieve in their formerly ceaseless dance. The Bellossom frowned, although his eyes were unfocused, and attempted to unleash another Magical Leaf. The Roserade, this time, didn't move away from the upcoming gust of sharp blades; rather, its eyes were closed, as if unaware altogether. Posh, still in the nutritious hot spring, couldn't help but shout out a word of precaution --
But it seemed it wasn't necessary. The Roserade had snapped her eyes open at the very last second, the confusion gone, and crossed her boquet-arms to form an "X". From there, a huge gust of wind formed, unleashing a torrent of leaves so dense that it appeared to be a green tornado of sorts. The Leaf Storm swirled dangerously about, breaking upon the Bellossom as if about to swallow it whole when suddenly the leaves dispersed altogether, falling to the ground as gently as you please.
The Bellossom relaxed, having braced himself. 'You win this round,' he said to his friend. 'Using my own move against me! Ha!'
The Roserade grinned coyly.
It was about then they noticed little Posh, sitting in the hot spring. Her odd coloring shocked them, for one reason or another. The Bellossom, for one, wondered aloud, 'Could it be?'
The Roserade, without taking her eyes off the younger Roselia, shrugged. She looked like she was about to greet Posh, but Meredith had returned by then, and seeing the leaves and petals everywhere, scolded the two very lightly, sending them off to clean up after themselves.
In Veilstone, Jun was still set up to fight against the black belt fella's Machoke, since apparently Maylene wasn't going to give him an audience for free. That shrimp, he thought to himself, though he wasn't exactly tall himself, either. Ah well.
"Think of it as a good cardio workout," he told Demi cordially when the Jynx seemed a bit reluctant; they really weren't into battles, typically, you know. "I mean, I have to admit, you do seem to be putting on a bit of..." The typically quiet, good-natured Jynx suddenly glared at him ferociously, daring him to say the next word. Jun knew when to shut up, as Demi did have a vicious Doubleslap. "Just saying!" Jun mumbled with his hands thrust in front of himself defensively, sulking somewhat as the Jynx sulked into the fighting arena.

Kilik was pretty sure that Themis wasn't going to get into any trouble. It had been a solid half-hour since Keegan had headed to the showers. What's taking so long? he thought, looking from the window to the door over his shoulder. He sighed, tapping his finger on the glass. "My guess," he said, putting his hands behind his head and groaning, "is that everyone is deciding to play around and catch up. They should be resting," he fell face-down on the bed, mumbling into the bed. "Naaah, it's whatever." He said rolling onto his back, staring at the ceiling. He could feel his eyes slowly closing, "If they want to stay up and be tired tomorrow," he yawned, "then they...can do...whaaaatever..." And he was out like a light.
-*-
"WEEEEEEEELL," Mazarin groaned, looking at Train. He put his hands on his hips and tapped his toes on the floor. He was eager to get going now that he had a new adventure to go on with these two. His mission was to make sure they weren't trouble makers. Perhaps members of Team Rocket?! They certainly were everywhere and one could never be too careful. No, he thought, They don't look like Team Rocket members... he nodded. BUT NEITHER DID KILIK! he brain yelled at him. Maz put his pinky in his ear and dug around as if someone had really just yelled into it. Whoever these two kids were, he was going to make 100%-doubly-duty sure they weren't bad guys.
"Fine. Feed your 'manz outside." He recalled Banette to respect her wishes and picked up his belongings. "No rush," he said then as he was walking out, he stopped. "Wait no. BIG RUSH LET'S GO LET'S GOGOGOGOGOGO! MOVE!" he zipped out of the Pokemon Center and ran outside, skidding to a halt. A puff of dust curled around his feet and a very itty-bitty Geodude was resting at his feet. "Doot," he rolled it out of the way. He brought his watch up to his mouth.
"Captains Log," he began, "I...haven't found...much on these...twolifeforms. They seem...absolutelynormalbut...one can never...betoocare...ful. Maz out." He dropped his hand to his side and tapped his foot, clicking his tongue. What was it about girls that took forever?
-*-
Giovanni went to his quarters, his luxurious bed awaiting him. He removed his suit piece by piece and hung it on his door. When he was finally in his silk pajamas, silk woven by only the most beautiful for Beautifly, his door opened. It was a Grunt, here to take his laundry and to press his suit. He nodded at his boss before disappearing. "Tomorrow's a big day," he said to his Persian, sitting on the edge of his bed. The feline rubbed up against his hand, purring. "We finally complete my ultimate machine, and will get further into our devolution project."
He got onto his back and Persian jumped onto the edge of his bed, directly beneath his feet, as he had done for many years. And within moments, both Giovanni and his feline companion fell asleep. Even evil geniuses needed their rest.

Woah! No need to glare at him! Ace hadn't done anything and he gave the Bidoof an amused look before shaking his head. What was with people not liking him today? First that blue menace and now this brown puffball. As far as he knew he hadn't done anything to offend these guys before. Well whatever, he could deal with a problem if it came up. Turning his attention back to the battle Ace watched with mild interest the fight going on between the two.
"She doesn't have anger control issues, she is just spirited!" Robin's reply came and it was pretty clear the girl had an enabler personality when she wanted to. Grinning up at Jaeshan she was completely unaware of his thoughts on if they were 'more then friends' though she wouldn't be opposed at all to that line of thought.
Across from them Milton seemed to be purposing to Nancy either again or for the first time. Though the way they were this was probably his hundredth time and her hundredth yes. On the battlefield the Gible wans't paying to much attention to her trainers anymore and instead on the little brat of a Bidoof in front of her. The Tackles from earlier had really hurt. It had probably hurt more then usual, either that Bidoof had landed a critical hit or the force of them colliding like that had made the attack extra powerful. She wasn't going down yet though. Letting a weak, compared to what her fully evolved form could do, the Gible let out another Dragon Rage right at the Bidoof.

Meredith brought out a towel for Posh and rubbed her down gently. Then the kind woman brought the Roselia inside to give her a different sort of massage.
"All Pokemon have an essential 'essence'," Meredith said, having Posh lie down on a masseuse bed. "That's what my cousin taught me a while back. I don't teach moves like he does, but I can definitely help refine your flower energy and attributes." Posh cringed as the woman suddenly pushed down on a pressure point before dispersing that pain -- or condensed potential energy, as Meredith called it -- throughout the flower's body. This continued for quite a while until Posh was feeling positively jello-like. It was pleasant, but strange. She wasn't sure if she felt weaker or stronger. All she knew was that if she had to play limbo at the moment, she'd probably be pretty beast at it.
Meredith looked at that clock. "Perfect timing. It's mutual meditation hour. Come, let's go." Posh vaguely wondered what this hippie business would do for her, but heck, that massage had felt pretty good, and she wasn't going to say no to her benefactor at the moment.
-------
Back at the Veilstone Gym, Jun and co. weren't exactly finding inner peace. Rather, the Black Belt's Machoke had taken advantage of Demi's reluctant and had moved first. Pumping its arms and legs, the Superpower Pokemon flexed and momentarily glowed with power -- Focus Energy.
It wouldn't be very smart for Demi to get close to this guy, Jun thought to himself momentarily. Fighting types, obviously, were hand-to-hand combatants, and Demi wasn't exactly a powerhouse when it came to those sorts of things. He remembered back in his own days at the gym where he used to think Element-type Pokemon were cowards for hiding behind their attacks, but his father had told him that all Pokemon had their own way of business, that none was less valiant than the other. (Just that Fighting Pokemon were the most valiant, for being so honest and forthright and such.)
"Psychic!" He instructed the Jynx, who, with glowing hands, lifted the heavy Machoke and, with a bit of mirth (for Demi, not exactly the Machoke, who was anything but thrilled), flung him around in the sky roughly in the moment before pounding him unceremoniously in the sky.
The Superpower Pokemon was visibly shaken. 'Demi's got a strong move, there,' Jun thought to himself. He'd seen her use that move before out of battle, to use multiple scissors to cut people's hair, but he didn't know there could be so many applications of Psychic in battle.
"Don't let it get to you, Machoke! Get 'em there with Revenge!" Burning with a desire to inflict the same amount of pain he had just felt, the muscular Pokemon rushed towards Demi swinging, not giving her any time to scuttle out of the way. Demi took quite a few hits, crying out, partly due to pain but partly due to indignation.
'How DARE you strike a woman's face!' Demi shouted angrily. 'Didn't your mother teach you better? A woman's face is her living! You impudent... Ugh! Brute!' The Machoke suddenly felt extraordinarily guilty. Well, he hadn't thought of it that way... He was always taught a Pokemon was a Pokemon was an opponent, and all, you know? 'Sorry,' the Superpower Pokemon muttered, despite his Black Belt trainer yelling a colorful inquiry as to what he was doing.
Demi pouted, feeling her cheeks swell up where he had hit him. 'An apology isn't enough!' she screeched (though her voice still remained relatively demure), beginning to Doubleslap him, hard. The dazed Machoke soon found himself a victim of a particularly strong IcePunch, and was knocked out under the power of a woman's scorn and guilt.

Last, but definitely not least in terms of weight, on M.A.'s roster was Tora. Daemyn's Sunny Day was still blazing above though the hound had returned to her side from the battle field; the sweat made M.A.'s band-aids sticky and her stomach feel nauseous -- had she eaten lately? She couldn't remember, which wasn't exactly a good thing, since Nurse Joy had instructed for her to eat with her pain medication. Whoooooops. Diego, noticing M.A.'s pallor although he was supposed to be asleep this whole time, painted her a vast sun umbrella and an electronic fan to help her cause, and the brunette took it thankfully with expressive eyes. The Smeargle smiled loopily in his sleep; yeah, he supposed he kinda liked this new trainer of his to some extent, at least for her earnestness.
(Plus, Ulani seemed pleased when he helped out Mary-Anne, and though that wasn't the reason for which he did help her out, he thought it was a nice perk. Not that he was seen noticing, since he was either sleeping or pretending to.)
The girl's last Pokemon was her Gallade, and it was obvious that she was real ticked that her other two Pokemon had been taken out so easily, having assumed M.A.'s team wouldn't have been much of a fight. "This one's my strongest!" she shouted.
M.A. looked at Tora. Technically speaking, Tora was probably weaker than Daemyn and 'Lani, but she made it up with pure willpower, probably. "Alright, Tora! Do what you gotta do. Keep your eyes on the prize," M.A. instructed. There weren't really any fancy tricks to Donphan's move pool, though she supposed she should probably add something to it later as her duty as a trainer.
The Gallade braced himself for the oncoming Indiana Jones-esque rolling boulder, though Tora was definitely faster and smaller. "Psycho Cut, Gallade!" the girl commanded confidently, knowing that Rollout was a Rock-Type move and wouldn't hurt Gallade tooooo badly. The Blade Pokemon nodded before swiping its sword-like arms in the sky, forming visibly pink-hued scythes that actually pushed Tora back out of her Rollout! The Pokemon broke out, somewhat stunned. She'd never been forced back like that, before. Her strength was her virtue, and now that it had been denied so easily, the Donphan was a little shaken.
In fact, Tora's hesitation allowed the Gallade to fly in with another attack, the super-effective Leaf Blade, which struck Tora right on the head and bowled her backwards. This Gallade thing was strong! M.A. was in quite a bit of awe; she'd never seen one before, but it was mighty cool, she thought. But Tora had to snap out of it! "Tora! Don't bother with Rollout, muscle through with a Slam!" Tora, however, was still a little slow to start. It took Daemyn's furious yapping to spur the Donphan to action, though only the Pokemon could understand the colorful language the Houndoom used. In its paraphrased, PG version, he probably scolded her to stop being so disgracefully stupid.

Riza had been too busy getting back to work with Eris and Faustus to notice Akima's sullen disposition and Plua's refusal to continue their training. Akima pouted and leaned up against the same tree the Fearow was resting in, deciding to watch the two younger members of her team. She was quite impressed with Eris' progress over the last few days, though she wasn't sure what she thought of the dragon-thing. Riza had talked about her hometown before and how many of the trainers from there raised dragons, but she'd never known what was so cool about them. After all, she knew her ice-type moves were strong against dragons, so why should she worry?
This time, Riza decided that the two Pokemon should work on their battling skills, though she was more focused on what Faustus was capable of. Jaden had told her that Clair had been training him so she wondered what exactly that meant. Eris had started off with a hazy Smokescreen, and she smirked at Faustus as she disappeared into a fog of thick, dark smoke. The Dratini's fins twitched ever so slightly, and though he backtracked a bit, his eyes began to shimmer ever so slightly, and soon a small Twister had formed in the center of the field. It grew larger and more powerful under the dragon's control, and soon its momentum had drawn in all of Eris' Smokescreen, leaving a confused and somewhat annoyed Quilava standing in the middle of the field. * * * * * At that point Noa dismissed her clones, glancing over her shoulder as Gardenia's Roserade launched another flurry of Magical Leaves. The bird clicked her beak and tucked her wings in to minimize the damage to them, wincing as she felt more cuts stinging her. She looked back down to Katie, though it was hard to see her as she was still under the umbrella.
Katie peeked out from her shelter, a few rain drops falling on her cheeks and nose. The rain was starting to let up, but it wouldn't stop completely for a few more turns. Katie watched the Staravia carefully, able to see that the flying-type was looking weak. 'Now's a good a time as any,' she thought, looking back at the Roserade. It had taken a few hits now too, but she couldn't gauge how much stamina it had left. "Okay Noa!" she called loudly. "Bring it on home with your Endeavor!"
Noa spread her wings wide and let out a loud, intimidating cry that echoed eerily off the surrounding trees. With a sudden burst of speed she was diving for her target, her body glowing slightly as she intended to leave quite a mark on the Roserade before she was taken down, and hopefully make things easier for that pesky flaming-monkey that Katie seemed to love so much.
((No worries Mitsu, I've been busy too. :3 ))

Amy felt somewhat confident that they had trained enough, and her Pokemon deserved a nice break. So, it was time to hunt for a nice salon, specifically one that serviced Pokemon too. That wouldn't be too hard, right?
Evidently, it was. Amy had come across several generic salons, but none offered anything for Flora or Marshall. She was ready to give up when she came into a seemingly dead-end, and noticed a brightly lit store.
The Sunflora Salon! read the sign. Amy saw that it was nearly empty, save for one or two customers. And quite a few of the titular Grass-types, happily wandering about.
"Let's go in," Amy said to no one in particular, stepping through the door. Instantly, she was greeted with a fresh scent that reminded her of warm spring breezes on lazy afternoons. She smiled a little when a blonde instantly greeted her.
"Welcome to the Sunflora Salon! How may we help you?" the blonde, who donned a nametag that identified her as Rose, chirped.
"Well, there's this contest tonight--"
"Say no more!" Rose smiled, and noticed the two Pokeballs. "We also offer our services to Pokemon! How many do you have?"
"I have a Bayleef and a Wooper," Amy began, but she was once more cut off by the energetic woman.
"Oh, that's no problem! Sunny, Buttercup!" Two Sunflora immediately hurried over. "Can you handle a Bayleef and a Wooper?" They nodded, smiling pleasantly. "Thanks! Bring 'em on out... um, I didn't catch your name."
"Amy," the future coordinator replied as she let Flora and Marshall out. Instantly, they were guided into the back room by Sunny and Buttercup.
"Nice to meet you, Amy! Now, for a contest..." Rose frowned thoughtfully, then looked back to a redhead emerging from the room the Sunflora went into. "Jordan! Coordinator! ...Oh goodness, is it your debut, by chance?" Amy nodded. "Jordan, we need to go all-out. Make this pretty face shine!" The quiet redhead smiled, gestured to a chair near the sink, and Rose asked Amy if she had an outfit.
"So we can make it all match," Rose explained, and Amy obligingly showed her kimono, which was thankfully still unmarred by today's various events. "Beautiful... well, Jordan. We gotta time this perfectly!" The two women hurried Amy to the chair, and they got to work.
Amy, in her true nature, managed to absolutely relax while she and her Pokemon were being pampered, and she managed to fall asleep. And then she managed to dream...

Keegan subconsciously rubbed at his still-aching forehead as he made his way back to his own room, fumbling stupidly with the key card for a moment or so (he'd had the magnetic strip facing the wrong way, of course) before he was actually able to go inside. A quick glance around showed him that both Kilik and Themis were both sound asleep, and he sighed, envying the both of them. It didn't take very long for him to get dressed, as other than clean boxers and socks he put on the same clothes he was wearing before, and though he initially opted to leave his jacket behind, he decided against it and put it on anyways. He made sure everything he needed was in his pockets (even though he would make an effort to keep his smoking to a minimum while around Kassie) and he stuffed the key card in as well, and he was nearly out the door before he remembered the still-sleeping Manectric. He called the Pokemon's name a few times in a hushed whisper, as not to wake Kilik, but Themis wasn't waking up on his own any time soon. Keegan finally held up the Electric-type's PokeBall and recalled him, knowing there was a good chance he'd need him later. After all, he and Kasiya had a considerable track record for getting into trouble, even if it was nowhere near the one he'd set with Mike and Flannery.
Keegan was smirking broadly at the memory of him and Mike chasing down a bunch of kids after they'd made fun of Flannery's hair and made her cry (she was much younger and less confident then, as now he'd hate to be on the receiving end of her wrath). He and Mike had been quite the team back then, sans Pokemon, so he couldn't help but wonder what it would be like now, with them both being (somewhat, in Keegan's case) skilled Pokemon Trainers. He was glad to see that Kasiya was arriving in the lobby just as he was, and he waved at the blonde, more out of habit than the actual need to grab her attention. "So, where to, leader girl?" he asked, a mixture of nervousness and excitement at the thought of them taking a walk together. After all, things still felt strange between them, at least to him, especially because nearly every time he looked at the little blonde, all he could see was her older sister. ===== Ooh, Seismic Toss. That one would be hard to get out of, and as Bugsy watched the the Mankey practically flying towards his Beedrill, he knew this would be it for the Poison Bee Pokemon. They had speed and momentum on their side, but he would most certainly go down fighting. "Brace yourself and give 'em a Twineedle!" the youthful Leader called, hands resting in the pockets of his khaki shorts. He was glad to see that this challenger had at least bothered to think of strategies to help her win rather than just barging in and surging through with brute strength.
Beedrill gave a buzz, though it was somewhat subdued as it was still in a lot of pain. It drew back its stingers once more as the Mankey neared it, giving another indignant buzz as it was forcibly grabbed around the neck. Struggle as it may, it couldn't free itself from Miles' hold and suddenly the two were plummeting towards the ground at an incredible rate. With a final grunt, Beedrill thrust his stingers forward into its opponent, knowing that it wouldn't be very damaging (as Fighting-types resisted Bug-type moves, after all) but it was more the possibility of poisoning the Pig Monkey Pokemon that it and Bugsy were aiming for. It had only the barest amount of time to retract them once more before it found itself slamming headfirst into the ground, completely out of it. ===== Miharu bit her lip as she watched Miles launch himself at Bugsy's Beedrill, trying to picture the outcome in her mind. She glanced at the young Gym Leader, remembering her own match with Bugsy, from not too long ago. Luckily Tingle had decided to pull its weight for that battle, otherwise it would have been a lot more difficult to get past that tough Scyther of his. Miharu watched the two Pokemon rocketing towards the ground, very much hoping that Miles would recover, not only from the fall but that Twineedle as well, and land safely. "Come on Miles, you got this," the green-haired girl whispered, her gaze flickering over to Sam. "You've both got this!"

...basics of being a trainer...
Rising from the mud to become pure and stainless...
(Eleven years ago...)
"Daddy!" Amethyst Maple cried out happily once she heard the door shut. She always knew when he was home; it was like a sixth sense. The five year old darted through the house, the largest smile tugging at her lips at the sight of the black-haired man.
"There's my little girl," William Maple grinned, obligingly picking up Amy. "And how are we today?"
"Great! I turn six soon!" Amy said brightly, hugging the professor's neck.
"So soon?"
"Uh huh! Did you learn lots today?" Amy asked, looking into her father's blue eyes. They seemed to darken.
"I have," he answered truthfully, smile quickly becoming forced. He gently set the girl down and gave a meaningful look to the woman entering the room. "I've learned quite a bit."
"Would you like some tea?" Melissa Maple asked, apparently better at hiding things than her husband. Amy tugged at Melissa's dress.
"May I have some too? Please?" Amy apparently picked up that 'having tea' was code for 'talking about something important,' and she wanted in!
"I'll make you some, and you can drink it while you watch a contest," Melissa suggested gently, glancing at the television in the room. "How about that?"
"Okay," Amy answered, slightly put down, but then again, she got to watch a contest! "You know, someday, I'll be a great coordinator like the ones on there!" she exclaimed, pointing at the T.V. "And I'll win all the pretty ribbons and I'll have bunches of Pokemon and you'll come see me! ...Right?"
"Of course," William answered with a smile. "We'll come and you'll win! That's for sure." Melissa smiled in agreement before she went off to make the tea. William flicked on the television, set it to the right channel, and headed to the master bedroom.
It was a bit later when Amy grew bored with the contest (or perhaps too curious to focus) and crept over to the door, trying to hear the conversation inside.
"We are sons of *******..." Amy gasped, surprised at her father. He never swore! And now he kept doing it, the same word! Amy was beside herself.
"You can't say those words!" she cried as she burst into the room. "You told me you can't say those--"
"Amy," Melissa said sharply, causing the girl to shrink back in fear. "What did I tell you about eavesdropping?"
"S-sorry," Amy muttered, flushing red. Then she noticed her father, his dead eyes staring at her. He looked like a shell of a man. "I-I'm sorry! I won't do it again! I promise!" Amy ran from the room, more disturbed by how her father looked than by the prospect of punishment.
She really wished she had just watched the contest.

Sam wanted to cheer as she saw Miles grab the Beedrill and start plummeting towards the ground. But she stopped herself when she heard the command for a Twineedle. The command was familiar, and Sam knew there was something connected to it, but she couldn't quite figure it out. Sam didn't bother compromising Miles' position to get out of the way of the Twineedle, so the sharp points of the Beedrill's stingers dug into Miles' soft stomach. He hardly felt it in his rage, but as he hit the ground, he felt very peculiar. He felt his stomach, which was suddenly in fiery pain, and he started to sweat. Sam watched as Miles scrunched his face up pain, and she thought she could almost see a tint of purple around him. 'Oh...that's right. Twineedle has a chance of Poisoning the opponent. Oops.'
"Miles, you okay?" He didn't respond. Sam debated on what to do next. The Beedrill seemed to have taken some heavy damage, and Miles could still take one or two more hits. But with the Poison, he would be out for sure in less time. Sam rummaged around in her bag, pulling out a slightly smushed Pecha Berry. "Miles, eat this!" she said, as she tossed it to him. He quickly shoved it into his mouth, shuddering, then he calmed, and the purple hue disappeared. He stood straight again, ready for battle once again. The Pecha Berry allowed him to realize that he still had some fight left in him. Sam glanced to Bugsy, mirroring him by putting her hands into her pockets. She shrugged nonchantly, as if this was all part of the plan. In truth, she did feel more confident then when she had started, but she still felt very out of her depth.

Kasiya looked up in time to see Keegan waving at her, and she smiled and waved back at him. For a moment, it felt just like old times, and she wondered (and hoped) if they could ever get back to being like that. She didn't even mind their occasional arguments, as they were usually over the stupidest little things. She also couldn't help but wonder what he was grinning about. "I don't know, I was just gonna go for a walk," she answered, trying to peek around his bangs to look at his head. "How's your head? Are you dizzy? Did you put a band-aid on it? Are you really okay to be up and walking around? I mean, you were unconscious and bleeding on the floor and those two things together are never good." She knew she sounded worrisome and overprotective but she didn't really care. Keegan wasn't the type to take care of himself willingly, so someone had to do it for him. "Does it hurt?" she asked, unable to stop herself from asking one more question.
=-=-=-=-= Jake couldn't help but laugh out loud at Robin's comment. "Spirited, eh? I'll have to remember that," he chuckled, watching the Bidoof and Gible closely. Now that he was paying more attention to them both, he couldn't tell which of them was angrier. He'd taken his PokeDex out again and he identified that fiery attack as a Dragon Rage. "Like before, Bidoof! Rush through it with a Quick Attack!" he shouted, wondering if the little brown fuzzball was capable of winning this.
Bidoof gave a growl but nodded at her human's command. This guy may have liked that wimpy Turtwig but at least he seemed to be a good battler! With a snort she charged forward, more white light streaming out from behind her as she sped into the Dragon Rage. It felt like her whole body was on fire but she wasn't going to quit until that stupid little dragon was knocked into the middle of next Tuesday! More growls were escaping her throat as she burst from the flames and once again threw herself into the Gible with all her might.
