Kioku sighed inwardly. "Yes but, I still dont know. I dont know where I will end up in the future...Maybe I will never become a geisha, or a maiko even. But that is fine. I am content just having a roof over my head." She looked around nervously. "Though, I am afraid of messing things up, and losing this roof."

"My dear, you will be a maiko and will be my younger sister once Tanpopo or Luna have become a geisha. Understood?" Iyasu confirmed it, "Now then, I have some news for you."

The clip-clop of wooden sandals could be heard throughout the okiya courtyard as Reijin came skittering back from dance class, practically sprinting up the front steps and throught the door. Pausing to remove the sandals and put on her house slippers, she sighed and caught her breath. Ano, I must remember not to run. It is not becoming. I must be careful not to disgrace Hara-onee-sama, she thought as she headed to her room. She touched the wooden box Iyasu had given her, and smiled. Iyasu-sama would be pleased at this good fortune. Kneeling beside her trunk, she lit some incense and bowed her head. The sweet-scented smoke curled around her, trailing out the window and into the atmosphere.
Okaa-sama, Oto-sama, after many months of study, a geisha has finally taken notice of me. Through my works, I have impressed her, and I finally have an onee-sama of my own. I hope that every day, through my studies and training, I shall continue to honor your memory. May you continue to watch over me.
Finishing her prayer, Reijin moved the incense burner to the windowsill, where it would not cause fire, and put her other belongings away. Leaving her room, Reijin headed towards the kitchen to make some tea.

Akino walked into the Okiya very unsure of herself. She looked around and saw that many other had already become fairly close. She thought she would never fit in no matter how hard she would try. It was hard enough being an orphan, and that made her fears even worse.

She paused and looked to see Reijin run by her room and then heard foot steps in the okiya hallway.
"Excuse me, Kioku-chan. I will be right back." She said with a soft smile and breif bow before she left to see if Reijin was all right.
"Reijin-chan, are you all right?" She asked gently, knocking on the door frame.

Akino sighed as she stood in the middle of the floor.
Gosh, i look like an idiot just standing here. i might as well go explore.
wait, i don't know my way around here! im going to get lost and spend all night wandering around. *bitterly* doesn't this place have a welcoming committee?

*sigh* i suppose i must stop being so mean, i guess i am just scared, and i don't know anybody and i have nobody to show me around or where i will sleep, or eat, or live, or show me the ropes. I guess i will just have to learn the hard way, and figure it out for myself.
She took a hesitant step forward, and then went over to the wall and cried.
I'll never be able to do it, not now, not ever.

Yokome returned to the okiya after a long night out with her little sister. She stepped into the okiya and called upon one of the maids, "Would someone mind setting my parasol away in the closet?" Yokome waited for a maid to assist her.
Yokome then saw her older sister Iyasu-san and said, "It's been a long time Onee-san! I've just gone out with my little sister as her first time as a maiko. This is a very exciting time for her."

"Oh my! Yokome-san!" She stepped away from Reijin's door and hugged her first younger sister. "Oh, you have gone for the first time with your younger sister! Time certainly does fly and I feel that I have missed out so much being so busy with classes, going out with my younger sisters, Tanpopo and Luna. Then . . . also going to the stables. . ." A slight haze of crimson dared to cross her cheeks as she began to some faint weeping.
'Who on earth is crying?' She thought to herself, glancing down the stairs.

akino heard someone asking for assistance and quickly wiped her tears away with her sleeve and tried to look presentable. she walked up to yokome
i'll take that for you.
goes over to closet and puts parasol away
anything else that you need?

Reijin emerged from her room and joined the growing group in the hall. "Iyasu-sama, were you calling me before?" she asked. "Good morning, Yokome-sama," she added politely.

Kioku sat and waited patiently, though rather nervously. It was very busy around here, and she began to wish that her own okiya was this exciting. But who was she to want anyway? Kioku sighed weairly, beginning to feel a bit feint. Her fever started to come back.

1) Akiyo slowly and quietly entered the Mizunoyuri Okiya unsure of what was waiting for her. If only someone would talk to me and tell me what's goimg on. she walked into the hallway and waited for someone to noitce her.

Iyasu giggled as everyone seemed to be coming home all at once, "Yes, Reijin-chan. You came in such a rush I thought you might be unwell. Yokome-san, it is has been a while since I've seen you last! Do you have enough time to have some breakfast or lunch with me?" She beamed a proud smile to her. She was so happy that Yokome had taken on a little sister and had already been going out to introduce her to their world. "Kioku-chan, why don't you come out here. I have some people I would like you to meet. Then we'll have some breakfast or lunch and you may head home, my little one."

seeing no further service was needed of her, akino walked back to where she was siting before and sat back down. she desperately wanted to make a friend. she didn't want to spend the rest of her time in the okiya sitting by the wall, but now it seemed as if thats all she would do...
