Mizuiro was liking this new guy, because now there was two smart people, and he had to do less thinking. He did understand everything, but his strategies sucked compared to theirs. He listened carefully, making sure he got all the details.
"Track them via the smell of blood? Yes, make sure it's a good cut." Mizuiro was certain he could, it was a strong smell and as long as no other scents distracted him, he would be able to track them easily. He pondered the plan a bit more, and just decided to go along with them.
"The plan sounds good to me."

Byakuran smiled and gave a nod, mood vastly improved with the prospect of help. "Very good then, let's..." but suddenly he felt something, a familiar vibration from his pouch that signaled a message from...his family. The Cube which he kept on his person at all times was actually something of a primitive radio. It picked up sound waves, those being transmitted on the Otobe's frequency, and emitted them...admittedly in such a way that few besides an Otobe could detect them through the cube's outer surface. His eyes widened however at the message coming through, his hand reaching for the cube without thinking as he brought it out and held it before him.

His face became slightly impassive... a strange sort've...distaste on his face. How should he react to this...? Should he be...happy? Vindicated? Angry? Disgusted? He wasn't really sure.

Only one thing, it seemed, was for sure.

Otogakure had fallen.

For a few moments, Byakuran stared at the cube, before clearing his throat, as slipping it back inside his pouch. "Ahem, sorry. I believe I mentioned I tend to be easily distracted." he smiled again, brushing it off. "Let's meet up here," he pointed at a spot on the rough map a few blocks down from the target building. "within the hour. We should probably come ready for a fight. I'll see you both there..." he turned looking suddenly distant, as though his mind was far away. The village hidden in the sound had fallen...and his clan were now the rulers of the hidden village...if the Daimyo dared challenge their claim, perhaps even a nation. He knew all to well that his family would not stop here... they wouldn't be satisfied with just Oto...

He needed to report this to Takahashi and Tomoyo immediately, if the network hadn't already gotten them a letter on the matter. It was impressive what messenger hawks could do these days. He might even be able to get some clarification on the subject... he was so distracted by these thoughts he barely paid any attention to his surroundings. For once in his life, his thinking was actually interfering his focus on what was around him...

(( wink *cough* sure would suck if someone followed him or something...yep. Suuuuure would. After this little bit of intrigue, we can start the mission. This way we can pick up some last minute supplies if we need to as well.))

Tenshi had enough money on him to buy a few things, but he would get them later. Right now... he had a feeling something was going to happen. Ever since he showed them the file containing all the advanced information on the target, Tenshi felt a little suspicious. "Within the hour," he repeated back to Byakuran. He quickly turned to Mizuiro once the boy was out of sight. "Alright Mizuiro, here's the deal. I'm going to try and tail him. Something seems a little off about him, and I intend to find out what. You can go and get whatever you need, or follow along. I plan on getting some smoke bombs before we start. Maybe a few senbon as well, but only if I have time." With that he turned away from Mizuiro and proceeded to follow Byakuran.

He rushed into the brush, keeping as low as possible, though he wasn't the greatest at hiding. Not that it surprised him, he was practically covered in white. The only time he would be good at stealth would be in a snow blizzard, which would come in time. He hoped that he was at least stealthily enough to keep himself hidden from his prey, or at least, long enough to get some information out of whatever he was doing. With his luck, Byakuran was a spy for someone else, and the black box he pulled out in front of him? What the hell was that? And why did he stare at it for a long time? This guy gives me the creeps...

[PASS] Batsu finally got through learning about combating genjutsu. Thank goodness, because that training was just brutal The boy had never been so scared in his life. But just when he thought about resting here came Cassie to rain on his parade with some more training.

"Hey Batsu. I think you might just be ready to learn some genjutsu on an attacking level. Of course, it's your choice seeing that you're looking extremely worn out and all." Batsu didn't say a word for a while. At this point, he just wanted to relax his mind. After all, he did just get scared halfway to death by Cassie's mind techniques.

[PASS] After a bit more resting, Batsu stood erect and nodded at Cassie. He definitely wanted to learn to attack. All he had now was his bow and arrows and that only got him so far. The weapon did very little damage and could make someone bleed if he was lucky. Genjutsu had the power to ******** someone up mentally and that could play to his advantage in battle... especially against someone he didn't care for.

[FAIL] "Yes Cassie-sensei, I wish to learn genjutsu. Please teach me what you know." [/color]Cassie couldn't help but smile. She thought for a second that the boy was going to cave after getting broken down by the last training. But this boy's dedication proved to offset his pain. If he kept this up, the boy could go farther than she initially expected him to.

[PASS] Cassie started to share some of her knowledge with Batsu. She knew that he wasn't strong enough to learn some of the upper-level techniques, but starting off slow wasn't a major problem/ But hopefully the boy would pick up quicker here than he did with the genjutsu kai technique. Maybe since it was an attacking technique, Batsu would catch on quicker. Then again, he did come from a family of genjutsu users and he didn't do so well. Time will eventually tell how he'll do.

[PASS] Batsu stood and awaited Cassie-sensei's orders regarding his next lesson in genjutsu. He was eager to learn and as many people in the village knew, the boy couldn't stand not doing anything. However, Cassie could warp his mind into something terrible. So it was best for Batsu to not say anything to piss her off. He was too young to die, or be declared clinically insane.

[FAIL] Cassie kicked up a little bit of dust before looking up at Batsu. "Okay, so you've seen first hand what genjutsu can do. Use that knowledge for future reference. I suggest not focusing solely on genjutsu.in the event that you come across someone who has experience fight with or against someone with far more knowledge on the fighting style. Remember: no matter how strong you are, there's always going to be someone even stronger than you."

[PASS] "But Cassie-sensei, what if I continuously train in order to make myself stronger. Surely there won't be someone that strong out there that I would encounter." Cassie just stared the boy down and scratched her head. "Do you honestly think that you are the only person in the world with that type of drive?" Batsu couldn't even look at Cassie when she said what she said. He knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that there were many people that had the same - if not greater - drive in comparison to him.

[FAIL] Batsu looked backed to Cassie. Admittedly, the boy was a little intimidated by the fact that someone, somewhere. could easily defeat him despite the fact that he was willing to train ridiculously hard to try and combat that. It was all a bit hard to deal with, to be honest. The boy couldn't do anything but sigh. God knows how defeated he felt.

[PASS] Batsu's eyebrows kinda furrowed as he realized that he didn't have to let everything that was said get to him. "I don't care if there are two hundred people stronger than me or just two. I will continue to train and become a formidable opponent... and if I die in the process then I'll be happy knowing that I did what I wanted to reach my goals. I refuse to sit and watch the world pass me by while doing nothing."

[FAIIL] Cassie nodded in response to Batsu's resolve. It was refreshing to hear someone say that there was no way that he'd give up for nothing and no one. "Okay, I'm glad to hear that. So I will teach you this technique and you shouldn't have any issues winning a battle. I just hope that you continue train this jutsu outside of battle." Batsu nodded in assuring that he would keep working on the jutsu.

DC
Awareness: 7 (17 if synchronization)
Roll: 20 (Auto-Success)

The homeland of his clan had been reclaimed. The thing they had been working towards since their banishment. The goal that all their efforts were supposed to be leading towards...and yet Byakuran felt nothing of the satisfaction or elation this was supposed to bring. He only felt the cold chill of logic running across his view of events. This was it. He would no longer have the luxury of playing innocent. Soon his family would be sending him new orders...and no doubt he would finally have to actually DO the job that he had been sent to do all those years ago. Until now he'd done nothing more then the equivalent of telling his family events around the village and the general political climate, keeping them informed on the situation. But now...

Now they would want the villages secrets. Now they would no doubt give him assignments and missions. His mere position as a spy was now not merely that of an Otobe...but as...

His head lifted as his felt another person nearby. His ability to pick up vibrations made him surprisingly unreliable on his eyes most of the time, save for more superficial reasons where sight was required. He supposed it was the equivalent of what most people used their nose for. Useful, but a far second in assessing their environment to their main senses.

Wait...scratch that...he felt two presences. The first one he'd detected was familiar, running towards him with a measured swiftness that Takahashi simply didn't possess, and the other...he'd not really gotten a good look at the boy, but from the echo that was coming to him, he suspected it to be one of the two other genin he was intending to team up with. He supposed it was logical, he was heading off towards the housing district after all, and they might have wanted to pick something up....

He frowned. If the pair of them weren't from clans and therefore had their own complexes elsewhere...

He stopped and looked in the direction Tomoyo was approaching from, waiting patiently, as though he knew exactly how and when she would be coming.

The woman arrived shortly, slowing to a stop without so much as having to catch her breath. "Kid,"

The woman of his network contacts was a tad to beautiful and clever looking to be anywhere NEAR being married to her partner Takahashi, but she played the role well. She was also the only one of the two with Ninja training from...somewhere. He didn't really know all that much about the woman besides the fact she was in the employ of his family. She was probably a rogue Nina from somewhere, but where he had no idea. Her long silver hair was shifted aside from her face as she leveled Byakuran a rather intense look that was very different from her usual knowing smirk. "did you..."

Byakuran looked rather collected as he nodded. turning to face with a now rather serious expression. "Yes. I received the message just now. So...it's true then." he frowned pensively. "Otogakure has fallen."

The woman folded her arms, giving a slight nod. "Yes..." she hinted for him to follow. "Come on. Your relatives sent word. They want you to know that they're alright. They lived far enough away from the village, so they made it out alright." Always with the double speech, always with the codes. But Byakuran caught the meaning. He had orders.

(( For the above use of code, roll an innuendo check. We'll make the DC: 20 since she's an NPC.))

Byakuran looked slightly embittered. "Yes...I suppose they would..." in a reply that didn't at all seem to match such news. As the woman headed off in the direction of the housing district, him in toe, Byakuran turned his head, looking back into the tree's behind them, directly at where Tenshi was tailing him. He gave a slight smile, a knowing smile, before actually giving a chuckle, and moving off after the woman...

There was something off about him walking off to simply talk to a woman, and he didn't quite like it. When she arrived, she mentioned something about receiving a message. He replied by saying he just got it and Otogakure had fallen. An entire village has fallen? Who could do such a thing? Something didn't seem quite right and the woman mentioned his parents. He didn't know much about Otogakure, and he knew less about Byakuran. Perhaps his parents did some back and were worried about him. Nothing they said tipped him off otherwise, but the fact of a village falling did. What made it worse, was Byakuran knew he was there.

He didn't think he needed to trail anymore. If there was anything important to the current mission, Byakuran surely would have told him, right? His mind returned to the mission at hand and he still needed to grab a few things before they would start. Metal wire, a few bomb tags, smoke bombs and maybe a few kunai. That should be enough stuff, and I'll keep an eye on him during the mission, perhaps have a word with him afterward. He stood up and turned away from where Byakuran was headed and went to get supplies. If he wanted more info, he would need to survive the mission first.

Tenshi returned to the renedzvous point and decided to train on his jutsu while he waited for Byakuran to return from checking on his parents. Alright, I just need to manipulate the air around me then... He made the handseals and infused his chakra with the air and released the chakra inside him. The wind began picking up, though it was ever so gently, he could feel it moving his hair. Soon he would make it shift the dirt on the ground, making it extremely effective.

He released the jutsu and repeated the same steps, creating the handseals and infusing his chakra, but somewhere along the lines, his chakra didn't quite infuse enough into the air for their t be any effect at all. He gave an exasperated breath as he shook his arms out.

He smiled as he moved his head in a circle to loosen it and give him a better feel. He made the handseals and tried placing his chakra into the air around him, but the chakra didn't leave his body and was simply molded into his hands. No you need to go out there, he thought as he waved his hands around himself, as if it would convince the chakra to do his bidding.

He needed to concentrate and focus on his chakra. Simply slip into his meditative state and feel the flow of chakra through him and gently coerce it out of his body and into the air around him, from there he would move it around himself and the area around him. As if the air was reading his mind, he could feel it shift about him and move to his thoughts.

He released the chakra and started from the beginning. He let his mind wander to nothingness and simply focused on his inner chakra network. If he forced it too hard, it would refuse, but if he placed his hand gently to its back and gave it the slightest push forward, it would do his bidding, almost like a parent guiding his child. The chakra went into the air and Tenshi guided it along the path he desired.

He seemed to be getting the hang of it and clearing his mind was definitely the key to channeling his chakra. It was probably due to the intense meditation he had undergone before becoming a genin. It didn't surprise him any and it seemed to work out fairly well for him. He closed his eyes and repeated the same process, giving his chakra direction in the air around him and now he was halfway through with the first step...

[PASS] "First thing you need to do is mold your chakra ad focus on using it on your opponent's mind. Once you connect, you'll have the ability to control the thoughts and the perception of who you're attacking. Hence why genjutsu is considered by some as the most dangerous ninja art there is. This shoulld come natural to you since your family is experienced in genjutsu."

[PASS] Batsu took what Cassie-sensei into consideration. The boy closed is eyes and tried to mold his internal chakra towards his brain. It wasn't something that he was used to, but in due time he'd get the hang of it. Thanks to his training in medical ninjutsu, Batsu had a little bit of expertise in molding chakra. However, that was towards his hands. But how hard could it be to finish. If he needed help, Cassie-sensei was just in front of him to help.

[PASS] Batsu continued to tap into his chakra flow and worked on the flow headed towards his brain. It took him a bit but he was starting to get the hang of it. The chakra was swirling in his head and he could feel it. This was actually beginning to get easy. He definitely wasn't complaining. The easier it was for him, the better.

[PASS] Using what he learned previously, Batsu put the knowledge to the test. The boy opened his eyes and stared straight at Cassie-sensei. His eyebrows furrowed as he tried to link up his chakra with hers. It took a few tries, but eventually he ended up succeeding. The boy smirked in happiness as he was well on his way to learning his first genjutsu technique.

the wind was at his command. He made the handseals and released his chakra. The wind picked up around him and this time anyone would be able to tell that he was doing something to the wind. Of course the air was slightly cooler, due to his chakra being naturally colder than most. If he could master it before the start of the mission, it could come in handy.

Odds were that he wouldn't, however he would be just as effective. If he had to he would simply hide. If hiding was not possible, then he'd blow the place up. Either way, the job would get done. He reformed the handseals and beckoned the wind around him. It blew around, moving his hair and loose clothing. He had only a matter of time before moving on, though he would need to rest first.

He could feel himself becoming exhausted. Each attempt sapped more of his chakra. He wondered how Bumu-sensei felt when she trained that awesome wave type jutsu she used against the Umi. He didn't want to even fathom the amount... he had to start somewhere and he was satisfied with this. He made the seals and the wind around him began to move. He released the jutsu and wiped his forehead. Hehehe, this is getting exciting...

Tenshi tried performing the step of his jutsu though his mind wandered to the mission coming up. He couldn't shake off the nervousness of the unknown. Not to mention working with a kid he only just met. This is going to be an interesting mission. And an interesting opportunity to get some info on what is really going on. Tenshi snapped back into reality and relaxed his muscles. He needed to bring his focus back to the jutsu. He shook out his arms, relaxing his body.

Tenshi made the handseals and dispersed his chakra into the air. The air around him began to rotate and move a few leaves, but nothing quite as drastic as it would be once he finished. He coluld almost jump with excitement...almost. I am totally going to be a ninjutsu swordsman! I will be devastating!! he would be lethal on the field, or at least he hoped so. Tenshi formed the handseals and gathered his chakra into his hands to disperse it around himself, like he had done nine times before. However, he was about to release too much chakra and so his gauntlets prevented any from leaving his hands. You need to keep an eye on your chakra output. You are not going to be able to remove these chains if you can't keep yourself in check. You know how they react... It was a failure on his part and he would need to keep a closer eye on it and prevent it from happening again. he couldn't let himself slip in that direction. Every other direction would be fine, except that one. He would need a long rest after this stage of the jutsu, that was for sure.

he took a deep breath and closed his eyes. He needed to have his entire concentration into practicing the jutsu. He wasn't going to allow himself to lose control over his own chakra. That was for the weak... well... that's what they said. He didn't want to get in the habit of letting it slip for fear of an elder seeing. That would be just his luck. Not only be 'shunned' by the village, but by his clan too. They could be sticklers sometimes.Oh! Concentrate on teh wind... He almost lost his concentration and ruined the perfectly good attempt. The wind picked up around them and stirred a few dust particles, but nothing that could help him blind a man laying on the ground. He released his hands, he had finished the first step...

Hirojo hid in the trees, looking across the way where his sensei lie in wait. He had to nail this, this was his final test before becoming a chunin. If he passed, he would become a legend. He just had to kill one of these two, and they were so close together. If he failed sensei would have to clean up the mess, and that wasn't going to end well for him if it happened. He began to perform some hand signs.
