Jaeger_Ayers Ouch. Second week of February and second head injury. At this rate I'm going to forget how to do long division by March. Sounds like it's time to get some kind of helmet. Dress to impress: go for one of these:

All it needs is a skull on the side and you're set! surprised

I'd have felt worse about it if my buddy had not whacked his head on the exact same spot earlier that day. I'm sure we aren't the first one's to do it either. It's a pretty poor house design, but you see that a lot with beach houses.
I'm currently in competition with Obama as to who's going to have hit their head more this month. That guy's hit his head so many times getting in and out of Marine One I'm surprised the Secret Service hasn't tried to wrestle the helicopter to the ground.

Gotta love work emails Quote: Please be aware we have identified an individual that has been calling and engaging in perverted conversation. We are contacting the authorities and will take all necessary legal and technological actions to curtail their continued abuse of our agents. Please be aware that if you receive a call from someone speaking inappropriately about pantyhose you should immediately disconnect the call. We are appalled at this type of behavior and will do everything within our power to eliminate any future calls by this person to our agents. When I work HSN, the occasional pervs we get are much worse than this proflowers one sounds. LOL loser pranksters

No one else at work likes to fix this one computer that alway messes up for one reason or another (*cough* they stack boxes on the mini modem. *cough*) and I'm the one that can remember where the wire are located (gets annoyed when everyone bugs me about why the keyboard isn't working and even more so when they sit at it for more than 5 minutes hitting the keys over and over again with the same result.) It's gotten to a point where the nice lady that works at the desk (who has bad knees) will place her hand on my back and say "watch you're head, the edge is sharp!" I've hit my head on the same drawer every day I've worked this week.
Hope you feel better hun.

Well, today certainly has been eventful. I woke up to a slew of AIM messages asking what was going on. I had no idea what these people were talking about until I logged onto the message board that I happen to be an admin of. We've had some trolling problems in the past. A lot of our userbase is former trolls, so that's to be expected from time to time. One of our Global Mods started lobbying for one of the banned members to be let back in a few days ago. I denied her, citing the reasons he'd been banned. (He used threats of hacking to intimidate another user into giving him their password, and used their account to flood the entire board... No way was he getting in.) She was relentless, and when I debunked her arguments, she claimed he would hack us if we didn't. I told her that I wasn't going to be intimidated by a hacker, nor would I let threats dictate my decisions as an admin, and went to bed. When I get up, every single thread on the 2 year old board was gone. Since a lot of the board was writings, and a lot of the rest just threads worth rereading, you can imagine how our members reacted. Her reasoning? We were elitists who were letting the site die. (She gave her moderator account to a known troll because she disagreed with a few of us... And we're elitist?) The damage can apparently be undone, though, and she was banned, so I think we're fine there. The betrayal obviously isn't sitting too well. I knew I couldn't trust her entirely, but I didn't think she'd intentionally harm the board. My own damn fault, I suppose.
As if that wasn't enough, I went to the movies tonight, (Friday the 13th) and a woman a few seats over had a seizure in the middle of it. I actually work at a theater, and this isn't as uncommon as you might think. Anyways, we cleared the way for the managers to help her out, but there was this one woman a few rows back complaining. She shouts "Is someone dying down there?" as sarcastically as possible, and continues making other comments along those lines. Finally, the woman stopped seizing, and the managers helped her out. She shouts "Look! She's fine! She's walking!" (despite the fact that she was being supported by two fully grown men) and her husband, equally obnoxious, responds with "That's why you don't let ******** kids into R-rated movies." (The woman seizing was in her mid-twenties, anyways.) At this point, my friend, whose normally a pretty quiet guy, just unloads on this a*****e. He's actually epileptic, so he knew what he was talking about. I swear to god, if the theater I worked at wasn't affiliated with the theaters I was in, there probably would've been a fight. I was at my nerve's end at that point, and it took all my restraint to not start up with this p***k. Ugh.
I'm pretty much fueled by conflict, though, so all in all, it wasn't a bad day.

Ah, the old "I hate u so I hak ur board" approach to things. Hopefully your boards had a backup you can replace it with.
Your friend shoulda punched those jackasses in the theater. If they'd gone to the box office and mentioned the disruption, they would have probably gotten tickets to a replacement show. Instead, they chose to be jackasses. They deserved whatever vitriol they got.

It's times like the afore-mentioned that make me wish someone would bring back Everett True. Some people really just need the sense walloped into them. xp

I'm sorry about what happened/is happening on your board! That's seriously stupid. gonk

Well, my area switches over from analogue to digital today. And before you all tell me that the deadline was moved back until June and I need to pay better attention, my area is making the switch when they originally said they would because it'll cost the stations money to wait until June. So, since the kids love the PBS kiddie line up something had to be done. Satellite and Direct TV were pretty much out due to having a lot of trees and frankly I never really liked either option. Cox Cable has all these bundle packages and all this really spiffy stuff none of which I care about I just want to be able to watch TV. $50 per month to watch TV. I'm not going to pay $50 a month just to watch maybe 2 shows that I don't already.
So off I go to Best Buy and I get one of those convert boxes and a new antenna. I ask the guy if these damn things actually work, he says "yes." I ask him will I be able to hook this stuff up with my limited brainpower and tell him I was able to hook up my Wii without assistance. He tells me it'll be no problem.
I go home, open everything. Read all the instructions. Hook everything up carefully. Double check my connections. Get my very heavy TV back into place in the entertainment center. Fire up the TV. Picture is still there, but looks like a**. I change the channel to 3 and begin the set up process. It scans for channels. I get 14 now. 3 different versions of PBS, the worship channel and CBS are new. Then I make a discovery:
Digital television sucks.
I couldn't even watch Heroes last night. With analogue you could at least hear what was going on even if the picture wasn't great. Fiddling with the antenna does absolutely jack s**t. The picture isn't even that much of an improvement.
So I spent the evening watching The Vicar of Dibley on DVD. I get the feeling I'll be watching a lot more DVDs soon.
Bottom line: DTV sucks, and the Government sucks for changing everything over.

I'm curious, what do you guys think about the woman being taller in a relationship. I'm a pretty short guy (about 5'5"). Couple of my friends don't understand what the big deal is, but they're average height or taller and don't have to really worry about it.
Is it weird, or should I start thinking outside the box more?

I can say as a woman how tall a guy was never really mattered to me.
