In the deepest reaches of the Astral Plane, a white flame could be seen burning in the distance. The pedstal atop of which it burned had begun to change its color. Its dark metals now took on a brighter hue as the flame danced on the ashes that were placed within. In the same area, there was another pedastal, however, its flames were not yet lit. There was one being present within this shrine, and it was he who bore witness to the tragedy that befell the world. As he sat in his place, watching the flames as they began to form a new on the floor before him, he stood from his position, and grabbed a handful of the ashes from the second pedastal. As the flames began to grow larger, the man...this acolyte, blew the ashes from his hand, and onto the flames.

He watched as the flames swirled about the air, almost as if to trace the silouette of what seemed to be a woman, floating in the air. He crossed his arms as the ashes sook their place above the flames. They remained in motion as if to simulate the blood that would be flowing through her veins. It did not take long for the flames to ignite themselves on the ashes that now formed her body. These holy flames had begun to burn the flesh onto the the ashes. From the bones to the flesh, it did not take long for these flames to restore the flesh of this particular woman. She remained flaoting inthe air once the flames finally burned themselves out. The Acolyte then took off his cloak and laid it atop of her body as it float in the air where she had been reformed. He then placed both of his index fingers on her temples, and spoke a few words, as the life that had left breathed his way back into her body.

"And that which had been destroyed, has once agian become whole."

Issildia had never known such darkness, her very existence coming to an end. Memories slowly slipped away and faded as her soul slowly began to die, with no where to return to in the shattered remains of the realm of the dead, there was no escaping this end.
Then the cold began to be leeched away, and her memories slid back, existence began to return. Though with the recollection of her time in the realm of the living came other memories, things that she had never seen or experienced before.
They came slowly at first, but their pace hastened and pain seared though her being as uncountable recollections of an entire race passed through her...memories that lasted for unseen centuries.
It seemed an eternity that this continued, when finally they ceased, any recollection of her time in the world of the living seemed so distant, as though years in the past. But nonetheless she was no longer who she once was.
She understood.

Wordlessly she stood from where she found herself kneeling on the insubstantial floor of the astral plane.
Without out regarding the one there she quickly dressed herself before regarding him; speaking with a calmness that she could never had possessed before.

"How can the necromancer's work be undone Caaro? What must we do?"

Caaro looked back at the pedastal that had been burning with holy flame, before acknowledging her inquiry. No explaination was given as to how she had been reborn into this existance, nor was one needed. The knowledge which had been lost to the folds of time, was now imbeeded in her blood, and her being entirely. When he finally responed, his voice was that of an equal if not greater calmness than her own.

"All in due time, Princess. There is another matter that requires our attention as well. However, we are ill equipped to battle such an enemy." He suggested. "It is not our way to involve ourselves with the affairs of mortals, however we cannot undo what has been done without the aid of the Revanants. Two in particular...I'm sure you're familiar with them." He explained as he gazed out at the plane.

In the distance, it could be seen that a lone individual, in silver armor was walking toward the shrine. Although his movements were not as swift on this realm, the temporal distortion caused by the veil's destruction made it a simple task to reach them. Once he laid eyes on the two of them, he bowed to them humbly and greeted them in a similar calmness.

"Caaro Askari, Issildia Nevar...Keepers of the Veil...Seiryu Azure Emerii, Grandmaster of the Rim, at your service."

"Azure..." Issildia said as she caught the tattered edges of a memory that seemed all to distant. Her eyes then hardened suddenly, there was venom traced along the undertones in her voice as she spoke.

"Where is Nahota?..."

When Issildia asked about Nahota, Azure looked away almost in shame. After a brief moment of silence, he turned back toward the two of them and answered her question.

"Nahota Ryera is dead."

Issildia's own anger at what Nahota's involvement had caused nearly had the best of her but she withheld it.
He had been forced to contend with one of his own, nothing more could have been asked.

"I see...So what is to be done now. I presume that the Ryeras' actions will have tempted a number of undesirable individuals out of the underworld…"

Before Azure could reply to her statement, a pillar of flame errupted to his left. Within that flame, it could be seen a silouette of a man. He stepped through the flame as if they were as thin as the air around him. Once he came into sight, he greeted them with a warrior's salute and introduced himself as well.

"Suzaku Kuroha Emerii, Arbiter of the Astral Plane. I come bearing knews of the Mortals above." He said in a mild manner. There was no evidence of feeling in his speech, and his aura was that of something which had been dead for quite some time.

"Kuroha, you're late." Azure stated. "What news do you bring?"

"The Horsemen have executed Akurei Takinowa." He said, still the same emotionless tone apparent in his speech. "The Takinowa Regime is now under the command of Takino Meridious."

"So he has finally crossed over." Azure suggested. "If that is the case, then we have much to accomplish."

"I am familiar with this Meridious." Caaro interrupted. "He is the Keeper of the Dead, and the usher of souls into the Nether Realm. If he has crossed over, I am sure that Trenius Sekia is now home to his undead army."

"It will make the necromancer's work difficult to undo with the likes of him having crossed over. He is in his element even now and I doubt he will freely consent to being returned to the Nether Realm. " Issildia uttered flatly.

"So how can he be dealt with..."

Caaro paused briefly as he traced an unseen rune into the air. Within a matter of seconds, a window of scrying opened itself, and the world, and what it has become was now open to viewing. In particular, the Temple of the Acolytes.

"As the world is now, we cannot hope to defeat Meridious or his horsemen. Even if we destroyed their bodies, their souls would create new ones for them. With no where for the dead to return, they have all become true immortals. The immortality granted to us by the veil, has been compromised." He explained.

"So how will we attack?" Azure asked curiously.

"You will become immortals yourselves. All three of you." Caaro replied. "All three of you have been given significant roles by the fates, but in the end, we all serve the cycle, and have a duty to maintain that balance."

"In other words, we must restore the veil." Kuroha suggested.

"Precisely, and that temple is the key." Caaro countered. "This is the place where the Crystals of Ages will be restored. When all seven crystals are reunited, they will have enough power to restore the veil to its former glorry...perhaps making it even stronger than before."

"Strong enough to bar Meridous's travel to the Nether Realm." Azure concluded.

"That is the idea."

~Some time later

The world had taken on an unusual hue since Issildia had last seen it. Colors seemed leeched from the surroundings and the air was thick with half whispered words. The living world now combined with the realm of the dead was slowly having it's very life drawn from it, or at least it appeared that way. The Forest of 1000 Souls spread out in and endless sea of mottled green in the growing dark as night descended upon them.

"There is a light guard out covering a tight perimeter, though a secondary line is scattered farther out, it should not be difficult to deal with them." Issildia said from where she stood calmly in the lifeless braches of a tree, far above the ground.

Azure and Kuroha were not far from Issildia's position. They were spread out for tactical purposes, but their talents over the shadows allowed them to hear one another's words. Azure could feel the pressence of the guard that Issildia mentioned, however there was something amidst about their numbers. He began to run a cross examination of the surrounding areas, only to find that they have no ambushes organized, as they would usually. This did not bode well.

"Something isn't right about this. Their numbers are too little to form an effective defense. There must be something we're missing." He suggested.

"I can feel it as well." Kuroha continued. "They have become far more powerful than they were last we met. The cause is still a mystery to me."

"Perhaps we are expected." Issildia noted flatly as her hand instinctivly fell to the blade at her belt.

"Maybe we should let ourselves in..."

"No." Kuroha stated. "You two stay here a moment. I wish to test a theory."

Without further hesitation, Kuroha's form vanished, however his presence could easily be felt as he moved toward the gate of the village. The undead seemed to stay clear of this village and Kuroha seemed to know why. As he reached the gate, his form reappeared above, perched in the trees. Whatever he was planning to do, it was a risk that he was willing to take.

"What is he doing?" Issildia inquired lowly as she continued to moniter their surroundings.
She did not understand the reasoning behind Kuroha's actions but should this be a trap they could easily be cut off from each other.
