"Mom is going to get you all if you keep saying she's like that. Makes her look all worrisome and an annoyance." But mom would deal with that wouldn't they? She wasn't so much worried as more or less running amok in her husbands house. Oh dad was going to be surprised when he got home. But back to things at present and he wrapped his arms around her, giving her a squeeze. "Oh come now, it's not like you won't see me soon enough. After all, you pretty much know where I'm going to be anyway."

Malik let the two be themselves, before his son went to go play with the other one.

"It does serve him right. wet clothes in the winds out here and the salt...who knows what things might think wet elf is tasty. But, since we'll be head ing home soon here, my turn to be a pest to you."

getting himself up and giving Savvy a hug, and straightening out her colored hair.

"You be safe, and you come home. I don't really care if the rest of these pirates get home, but you make sure you do. if you need anything, don't hesitate to contact us, someone will bring you whatever you need, even if I have to trust Galesen to do it, or have nym drag it."

giving her a kiss on the forehead.

"the past between you and I is far from laudable. but things are going to get better. Just make sure your home more often to see that."

"Elf snack, I'll keep that in mind." Shaking her head lightly but stilling when she heard him get up, relaxing some where she knew where he was by his hug and hugged him back, let him fix her hair and what not. "I've come home before, and I intend to again. I'm made of tougher stuff than most think. And I'll make sure I do...after all, what with the slim picking out here who knows what will come in handy." Closing her eyes briefly before nodding. "I will daddy. After all, my feet and fingers have to eventually get too tired or too battered and will need a rest. Better get on up...because you know very well I'm not going there unless someone drags me kicking and screaming." Sometimes it was so trapping to have a phobia.

"Not quite, but the truth is I don't need another adult around shadowing my every move. I fled from my parents for that reason and I didn't particularly want my uncle to come join me for the same purpose. She nodded and gave him a laugh, "So true, you never go anywhere. Our days never were complete without messing with each other in some form or fashoin." Hugging him tightly, she stepped back and then waved her hands, swiping her fingers under her eyes to alleviate the pressure from tears. "Go on. Take care of yourself, Dhair. You'd better be in one piece when I finally saunter on back home."

"Oh come now you know I will be. And you can just rest sure in the fact that you probably will find me lounging at home when you do come, as you say, sauntering back. Now you be a big girl and find out what you're looking for here." Ruffling her hair and letting her back off before teo fingers to his lips to give out a shrill whistle bringing a breath of air that glistened for a moment before Serino stood there, nickering happily.

"Still not getting your own horse, I see. afraid to pick a favorite or do you just prefer to keep your mother out of zephyr mishaps concerning trees?"

Malik came up on deck, and glanced at Shyrae.

"And were those tears I saw you wiping away a few moments ago?"

Drow skin hid blushes or she'd be one embarassed little elf. "Raindrops, actually, Uncle Malik, though there might have been a tear or two in there, too. I miss you all more than I thought I would." Shaking her head and then walking over and hugging her Uncle. "Take care and keep Mama out of trouble. She's probably driving Daddy insane and you know when that happens she ends up at your house. And you," looking at Dhairiss, "Don't you forget what I said. I'll keep an eye on Sav and make sure she and Hunter don't destroy each other...though I might let them fight. Just for fun. I think it'd be amusing to see Hunter half decayed."
PostPosted: Sun Nov 25, 2007 5:48 pm

"It's not that I don't want to pick a favorite or that I'm trying to protect mom. That's your job. Serino just doesn't make me feel guilty. After all he can carry you around without complaint and you're still bigger than me." Unlike his brother, he was somewhere between his two parents in height. Rolling his eyes lightly he laughed at Serino startled a little at the little n** he'd gotten as one rather irritated Ramoth showed up. To which Serino headbutted him. "Hey, I didn't say come before her, you did that you asked for it." Ruffling the creatures mane before mounting up. "Ah leave her alone dad, come on. Let the girls have their fun."Nodding to Shyrae then, "I'll remember. Elves after all - we don't forget. But don't be too evil...someone has to be sweet in your pairing." Thusly waiting for his father to mount up before a smile and two fingered salute bye to those on deck, Serino giving a prance or two before disappearing.

And so it was done...though there was something freeing about how things had turned out. After all...when you started life with your father not even wanting to look at you because you almost killed his wife...it was nice to finally clear the air. "Things do change, don't they Chy? Now only if this blasted rain would cease."

And she was done...or at least testing said she was done and she was quite thrilled with herself. There was nothing like getting the results you wanted on a freshly finished invention...so a few clocks had to suffer and what not but hey, some sacrifices had to be made. Though she had to contain her squeal of joy over it all, not wanting to disturb Kaznec as she pulled a soft cloth from her satchel, wrapping the item up and tying it with twine to keep it safe for the time being. Oh her brain was just buzzing now.

"Someone bring me my maps...this is turning into a a dangerous dead end." Waiting and looking things over before she sent someone who was brave enough to swing make the journey between ships over to hunter. He was a young boy, looked like a nomad they had picked up earlier. "Capta'n De'con? Mi capta'n Neer'm wanted to know ho' ye fare...even she's hav'n troubles. And if ye ha' any suggest'ons. We're all gett'n bogged."

He landed heavy on the deck with a squirming bag in hand. Not caring for Fang's crew's reaction anymore. Upturning the bag, out tumbled the two little creatures and a model ship...that looked a lot like Fangs." Setting down a bowl of the sludgy salt, he toy was set in it and a little shard implanted into the ship. A ring of crackling energy sprang up in a almost cage like formation around the children.

He pouted. "This 'on't look like a fun place to play...it's wet."

It was not an entirely good idea to sleep the morning away but he wasn't feeling so good at the moment. Stiff neck, odd throbbing in his wings and tail... He could hear the rain pouring outside, hitting against the hull of the ship as they plowed forward to what he inferred was their next destination. There was nothing he could do but wait. He pushed himself up to a sitting position though, flicking his tail a bit to test things out and still feeling the ghostly pain there. This form did have its disadvantages. A look over to Jae though and he tucked a strand of hair behind his ear, tilting his head. "What are you doing?"
PostPosted: Sun Nov 25, 2007 6:37 pm

Fang walked out on deck, and looked down at the...things...and then back up at the one that brought them.

"exactly what are those, why do they have a model of my ship, and what could they possibly do with it that would make me not want to throw them overboard the second you leave?"

snapping his fingers at one of his officers, who promptly left the deck. the ship lurched a bit, not enough to unsettle the crew though, and the ship did pick up pace.

"I have effective methods to battle the salted mud on my own."

Hunter regarded the boy a moment, before glancing at the Claw.

"We're going as well as we can be at the moment. as for suggestions, only thing I can think of for her is to get Red to scorch the path ahead of her. we're going to be deploying the claws here soon to help with the crusted salt and mud. or ask the star eyed kids for some assistance. I'm down two elves here, one's aquaphobic, the other seems non-inclined to help with this either."

Clumsy plus surprise were not two good things to add up, which she duly found as she fumbled the wrapped object in her hands a few times, attempting to keep hold on it rather than falling to the deck and possibly breaking. A good few tense seconds before she got hold of it, holding it to her chest with a sigh of relief. "You scared me, I didn't hear you wake up." Taking a moment to let her pulse get back under order. "Just back to inventing...I'm feeling quite well today considering what things have been feeling like." But that excitement lit in her eyes as it usually did when she had something to show him and she scooted over to sit before him on her knees, hands that bore series of thin lined whelts untying the cloth.

"Now just look for a moment and take it in. I know it seems simple, but it kept bothering me." In her hand she held up what was the handle and intact trigger of a pistol with a guard at the end. "Just a pistol handle right? Wrong." Turning it so he could see the forward end, which had a slot in it. "See that? Okay so...I kept thinking whenever someone needs a dagger, they always have to unsheath it and sheath it and daggers are supposed to be quick so," Pulling it back because we didn't want him losing an eye, she held the item verticle, and pulled the trigger...and up from the wooden handle itself popped a sharp polished steal blade fast as a blink of an eyes. "No more fumbling." Placing her thumb on a small button like leve on the opposite side and pushing down, the blade retracting. Another pull of the trigger to demonstrate again. "The dagger is once again efficent again."

He laughed. "Try to get them if you wish...that fencing will incinerate you first. Those...would be my insurance that you don't double cross me. Come now...we both know we don't trust each other and I know you've already sent word to the riders like you were supposed to. Now I need you to not mess things up for a bit with your own ambitions." A look to the children who sat rather unrattled. "Children...how does the ship slow down? And how does it sink?"

They seemed to conspiritally whisper to one another a moment before one held the model and the other furled the sails...the actual ships sails following suit. Then a little pressure to shove the ship down into the slush a little more and again, reality bent to comply.

A grin at Fang. "I never said I was looking to help you go faster...just showing you that it would put you in a bad place to try something that is not to the plan as of current. Humans are greedier than any hoarding dragons." Two more little models were tossed into the caging around the children, the Chimera and Gale Claw. "Yes, I do have all the cards in hand at the moment. Well Fang? Is that clear enough for you?"

A little salute to Hunter and he was back off to deliver messages, apparently enjoying this whole thing. Pirating was fun. But message delivered, she nodded and weighed her possibilities. A burst of fire could light them up in the murkiness of the day like a house of straw with a spark. "Mister Robins, keep eyes on the Chimera...when she sets out her claws, we'll give our wings a stretch...see how that does us. Forsaken rain at a time like this."

He watched her more or less flail for a moment, though breathing out a silent sigh of relief like she did when that object was caught. "Sorry. I'm not a loud waker." But if she was inventing again, then it was indeed good news and signs that she was feeling healthier. It wasn't a big surprise that she wanted to show him her invention. She usually did and he found it enjoyable as well, it was intriguing learning how new things worked. Thus he listened to her reason, getting more excited by the second until she pulled that trigger and he jumped and blinked as dictated by instinct in someone that just had a dagger pop out before their very eyes. "That is very effective. Surprisingly fast too..." Watching as she demonstrated it again. "Where did you get the parts for it?"

No one every seemed as pleased at her about these sorts of things though she never seemed to care if they did or not. She reveled in her self accomplishment on such things. Retracting the blade once more and effectively recoiling the spring rigging she had managed inside the now hollowed handle, she beamed once more much like a child who just heard they got to eat cake for every meal and it wouldn't ever make them sick.

"Small springs make for fast uncoiling when released, more speed to the action." Still grinning. "Well, some I had with my from when we left and some I pulled out of this junk barrel that's stashed down here. Like the boring look or something that may be useful in trading...but there were plenty of repeat items." And indeed where she had been sitting before was a graveyard of metal and wood. "Quite tricky to put together too." Wigging her fingers at him of that one had that bore red streaks of whelts. "You going to field test it for me sometime?"

"Crystal."

before giving a glance to another crew member, then waiting for the dragon to leave while he regarded the...things in the cage. Of course as soon as teh dragon was out of sight, and even then waiting probably about ten minutes past that, he motioned to the crew member to come to him.

"anyone on this ship with artistic skill, I want them to be working on something in particular."

leaving the children been and walking a good distance away from them.

"I want a mockup of that dragon. as detailed as they can make it, question those creatures if they have to. I want to be able to bribe them with a much better 'toy' than my ship."

Hunter gave it maybe another twenty minutes, before a nod to Richards who had the claws deployed. the blades helped churn the mud and salt, which helped the Chimera move through the beds, though still not at the best speed. but at least considerably improved. Hunter gave a look at the crow's nest, and Desdemona was giving hand signal's back, quick and reliable communication in wind and rain, since they didn't have to worry about a miscue or not hearing anything. At least she was being a good girl for once.
