Slowly the howl faded as his lungs emptied and he couldnt howl any longer. He looked at her a barked in delight.

She snapped at him playfully. Her heart was racing with adrenaline, fast-paced and ready to jump if she was ready to run and play. She growled, bowing on her front legs, her tail wagging.

Jeff grinned mischeviously at her. His tail slapped the water next to him onto Layna. Then he quickly lept at her again hoping to catch her at least a little of gaurd.

She snorted, shaking the water from her. When she looked back up, he barreled into her. She growled softly, falling onto her back.

Jeff stood over her. "Looks like big tough predator became prey." His breath was on her neck he was so close. He was being playful.

She shivers. "I am so not prey!" She thumps him with her hind-legs, growling.

Jeff lightly nips her neck before taking off into the brush to show that he had her. "Alright then mighty hunter. Catch me."

She growls and rolls over, taking off after him. She wasn't going to be pushed down, she would catch him.

Jeff wanted to make this difficult, so he forth right sprinted as he did he continued to turn the chase to where he ended up down wind. Even though his fur wasnt as dark as her, his was more forested colored so in the night he was pretty well blended in. As he ran he make sure he jumped onto random large rocks then to a different one a ways off in a different direction before setting foot again as to avoid leaving an easy trail.

She pushed her nose into the air, catching only a small amount of his sent on the breeze. He really wants me to hunt him......hmm. She pressed her nose to the ground and followed the lingering odor from him. She followed it carefully. If I know him enough......he won't let himself back down easy..... She thought, intent on her task.

Jeff remembered when a trick foxes used when he chased them. He found a stream and as quitely as possible walked down it for a way then jumped out onto the other bank and continued his flight, now that he was down wind of Layna. He could tell where she was easier. He caught her scent, she was still after him but he wondered if he had thrown her for a little while. He moved now with more deliberate silence than speed. Twigs didnt snap and leaves didnt cruch when he carefully set his foot. He tried to keep his steps mostly on rocks abit larger than his feet.

His scent was becoming stronger, so perhaps she was getting closer. He would be moving quick, but he would be careful, which would slow him slightly. She neared the streeam and the scent ended abruptly. She snorted. "I hate water!" She looked at it, and then at the bank on the other side. "Why does he have to go through water?" She grumbled and slipped into the water, swimming to the other side quickly.

Jeff quickened his pace again, the stream should give him some time but her going into the water would cause him to mostly loose her scent. Jeff lept into a low laying branch and moved to three others away from his trail. He cursed himself silently for landing in a spot of soft soil, it we leave a nice fresh print.
(i got school ... today so i need to get some rest, finish this tomarrow.. Yes? any ways good night)

She got out of the water, shaking briskly. "I hate water, evil stuff on the fur!" She looked around her carefully. His smell had diminshed more when he was in the water. She scrunched up her nose and picked upa faint smell. It wasn't much, but it could do. She followed it, her eyes an omnipotent grey.
