"Oh none of your business." Cynthia said sternly before laughing and bouncing Gabriel on her knee again. "I'm kidding. Seriously though, I serve the angel Nebiros. I'm just lucky like that." She pointed down the tunnel which seemed much darker. "If you want to see him he's down their. But I'll bring this little cutie back to that studly individual that brought him to you. He seemed like a good nanny... unless you're okay if he stays with me. I miss working with kids."

Layna felt her breath cease for a moment at the name. It rang a bell all too clearly in her head. "Nebiros...?" She murmured. How long had it been since the first moment she had heard that name? Over a year... "I would like to see him, yes." She whispered, standing straight again. She looked at her son, and then the woman. "You can watch him..." She whispered, watching Gabriel squeal in outright happiness. She turned from the two and leapt back down onto the tracks, walking into the darkness before her, her heart thumping in her chest. She wasn't sure if it was fear or excitement that drove her to see that Angel. Excitement perhaps more than anything.

"Mommy's coming back soon." Cynthia said happily, bouncing the baby happily. It was so long since she had taken care of a baby. Far back in the subway the sound seemed to shut off coming from the baby, the only sound came from the echoing of Layna's feet on the tracks as the darkness wrapped around her. "Layna...." The soft voice came from everywhere and nowhere. Shadows as soft as silk wrapped around the her body. "You have changed so... Oh Layna you are suffering..."

Layna froze, her eyes wide, her pulse wild. "Nebiros...it was you. I remember you..." She whispered, listening to the voice that spoke. "The father of my son...was killed... I was so alone..." She continued to murmur, her eyes closed. She could see nothing around her anyways. "They wanted to comfort me....but they don't know about how it feels. They can't." It felt so strange to speak to someone she could not see, but whom she could feel everywhere around her. It was like her sight had been cut off, and she had only sound and touch to guide her.

"You're son has no father..." The voice echoed. He was tantalized by her sorrow but it was all a part of what he was. A gentle brush of her hair, a shadow across her leg. "You can have him back Layna... Wouldn't you desire nothing else? The others wouldn't need to comfort you... you're family would be happy."

Layna shivered, listening to his words. Did she want Ceon back? Something in her mind said that would be a stupid thing, that he would just continue to get hurt, and hurt others. How stupid... "I-I..." She bit her lip in thought and slowly she shook her head. "He would...end up hurting my son...I'll never ever let that happen. He's too precious to me... He's everything in my life now, the only thing that keeps me human." She knew that without that bond, she would have turned into a beastly creature long ago, thinking only on instincts.

Within the darkness a deeper shadow emerged. Something of a human shape with six massively expanding wings that reached forward gently and wrapped around the Lycan mother with the touch of a lover, drawing her forward without touching her. "Then what is it you ask of me?..."

Layna felt herself move, a soft sigh passing through her lips, a strange comfort passing through her. "Comfort...peace...Strength to protect my son...I don't want him to have to be scared of this world..." She wasn't sure what to say. Her heart ached with the fact that as Gabriel grew, more danger would confront him. "I don't want to be afraid to fight my own battles..." She muttered acidly, remembering how Veroen had wanted to fight Daiguren for her. It was wrong.

"Then ask me for the strength... I can give you the strength a mother needs... You shall need to rely on no else... The voice was soft, the touch of wings with no substance. The shadow was an angel yes, but dark and strange. And it was a trap to all those that dwelled in light, darkness was all consuming after all but so peaceful.

Layna closed her eyes once more, her mind locked in a feud against each other. Yes or no? She opened her eyes to once again stare into the darkness, unable to see who it was exactly who spoke. "I ask you for it... But how can you grant this?" She whispered, confused. How could some grant strength? It was an odd concept.

The wings coiled tightly around Layna before the darkness slowly began receding further into the subway. His job was done for now. She was so much closer to him now. "Go to you're son... Go to your home and sleep well... Tomorrow things will be different..." With those echoing words the presence was gone.

Layna blinked, her eyes adjusting back to the light. She looked around and saw no one. What had just happened? She questioned. She rubbed her forehead and walked back the way she had came, greatly confused. But she would listen. Sleep sounded so nice right now... She pulled herself back up onto the platform, and sat for a moment, before returning to the woman and her son, who was still preoccupied. "I spoke to him..." She murmured.

"Good for you." Cynthia said beaming. "Want your boy back?" There was a rush of air into an empty space and the blond girl appeared next to Layna holding the boy in front of them both. "He's adorable really."

Layna reached out and took Gabriel into her arms, kissing him on the cheeks and forehead. "Thank you so much for keeping him here with you. The other...he would have worried that I had disappeared." She smiled, laughing lightly. Gabriel cooed softly, and looked to the woman with a giggle. "Bye bye~!" He burbled, waving his little hands. Layna smiled again. "My name is Layna by the way. I hope..w.e meet again. Gabriel really does like you." She said with a smile, jumping down onto the tracks once more, and taking off into the dark, running now that she knew the way. It would feel nice to be out beneath the moon again. But sleeping sounded so lovely right now...

As the doors to the subway tram closed automatically, a dolled up Sinovia caught a familiar stench in her sensitive nostrils. The overbearing scent of lycans made her cringe, her nose scrunching up in disgust. It was somehow amusing to her that lycans thought they could roam into vampire controlled areas without receiving punishment. Lucky for them, Sinovia had more important plans for this evening, bigger fish to fry. As the car started it's path through the underground railways, all Sinovia could do was smile. The sinfully-sweet look on her face drawing in stares from the few passengers on board, but Sinovia took no notice, her mind was swimming in her unknown plans of mischief.
