"If I take a break I'll never start moving again," Owle sent back. "Besides, I need to get him to you as fast as possible."

Whatever it costs me.

She looked down at Vahn as he spoke, keeping that last thought to herself. His eyes were open but he didn't look like he was seeing anything, just...staring at the nothing above.

"It's going to be okay."

She said the words like they were a command, like she was just ordering everything to be okay. Hell, maybe she was. But her next words were softer.

"Vahn, I promise. I'll get you someplace safe. Fall asleep if you have to, to recover...I'll be here when you wake up."

She didn't think he was coherent enough to confirm anything about Lucind. But the fact that the other psionic had given her small details was some small comfort...it was difficult to lie over a telepathic link, after all, and Lucind would now have had to lie quite a lot. Owle just hoped she would have caught it somewhere if the Siren was.

"I'm just going to take your word for it."

She sent the thought to Lucind, then tried to force her legs to go faster. Marginally, she thought, she might have improved, but then, no...she had to slow down slightly again. She couldn't handle it.

"He's almost out. I've seen him sleep off worse, but that was after he'd had healing magic flung on him..." The worry was obvious in her voice.

Lucind was more than a little worried, judging by Owle's emotion that the situation had become quite serious.

We'll be right there...

Around fifteen minutes after Larhien had started the hummer, Lucind saw the black car through the eyes of the magpie and 'disconnected', knowing the bird would still follow them all the way back to get its reward.

"Magpie's there..."

"Uhn...but where are they?" The blue haired man stared out and guided the car off of the road to reach their aim. Only a few seconds later they could see Owle carrying Vahn.

With screeching brakes the hummer stopped around fifteen feet in front of the woman and the wounded - Lucind directly hopped out and jogged over, still wearing the same clothes in which Jean and Knights had seen her, a mix of what was considered to be the traditional Siren style and a Middle Eastern outfit.

Now that Owle could see the woman rushing towards them, the snake vanished, reeling back into Owle's head in a rather comical and slightly disturbing fashion. She had been a little worried the car was going to run them over, but, there hadn't really been much she could do about it, so she'd just stopped walking and stared.

Owle looked rather larger than anyone ought to be; she had gone from being 5'3" to being about 7'9", and the rest of her body had grown in proportion. She wasn't exactly a giant, but she sure didn't look like she was going to fit in the car. Unless maybe they tied her to the roof rack. Of course, Lucind might realize that Owle had been shorter than Vahn the last time the magpie had looked them.

Her clothing, fortunately, had grown with her - a simple pink tank top and some ragged old jeans. Notable were the strange scales on Owle's shoulder, ruddy brown tinged with orange like flame, that seemed to shine when the light hit them. Similar scales covered her feet, and digging claws seemed to sprout from her toes. She also had a pair of itty bitty wings, covered in brown feathers...these were mostly hidden by her bright blue hair.

"Can you help me...get him in the car?" Owle asked, staring helplessly at Lucind. She felt like she'd collapsed if she had to hold him any longer...

Her eyes flicked to the hummer. Another vehicle? Another place to be trapped to be helpless? Well, at least she wouldn't have to stand up anymore...it would be nice not to stand up anymore...so nice...

"I need to get smaller if I'm gonna...if I'm gonna go with you."

Maybe she could squeeze into the door if she tried. But she'd much rather shrink down smaller, till she knew she could fit. Back to her usual size...

"And I can't carry him if I..."

Owle stumbled over the words, trying to explain.

"...if I get smaller. I'm not strong enough."

Even while Owle still tried to explain why she needed to let go of the man, Lucind reached up to support a bit of Vahn's weight which left the first blood stains on her top. The Half-Siren had indeed seen Owle changing into this XL version of hers, but as much as Lucind was fascinated by this process, any questions had to be delayed for now.

After opening both backdoors, Larhien hurried over to carefully take Vahn out of Owle's arms and carry him into the car.

"You okay," Lucind asked the other woman, while already walking backwards to accompany her brother. "There's water and some energy snacks in the back." She opened the trunk where Owle could find said things if she'd like to have some of it. Also, there was a stack of towels and the back seats of the hummer were covered with two large blankets.

Helping Larhien to lie the wounded down, Lucind entered from the other side, supporting Vahn's head and shoulders. Then she knelt down next to him, the car's interior providing her with ample space. Larhien pulled a first aid kit out of a hidden cabinet under the seats, then left to see if Owle needed any help.

"Vahn...can you hear me?" The Half-Siren leaned over the man, running her eyes over his body, checking if there was any wound to be taken care of, especially where Knight's sword had hit him.
Seemingly the man's attention was drawn inwards, focussing something else but the world around him.

Lucind raised her hands to gently clasp Vahn's head, thumbs resting on his cheek bones. This was a good was to calm down scared or panicking people, but maybe it would also help in this situation, to get through to him.
"Vahn," she started anew, her voice lower, yet more intense, and drifting into the Siren language's way of pronounciation and rythm, "Is there something we can do? ... Something to stabilize you?"

"I'm fine," Owle answered. She was relieved when Lucind started to take some of the weight...even more so when her friend there took Vahn out of her hands entirely. However, she seemed reluctant to let Vahn get more than a foot or two away from her, trailing after the wounded man like she was attached to him somehow.

An eyeblink, and Owle would be back to her usual short self, the change happening too fast for most to catch. One second she was huge - the next, as though she had never been other than small.

Larhien wouldn't have to go very far. In fact he would need only turn around. As much as Owle would have liked something to eat, she didn't want to take her eyes off Vahn.

He would find that the shapeshifter was completely uninjured, though she seemed drained, exhausted. As soon as Larhien was out of the way, she took the opportunity to sink down and sit on the floor of the car, next to the seat Vahn was lying on, her legs hanging out the door. It didn't look like they were going anywhere anytime soon, so...

"Is he going to be okay?"

Owle seemed nothing so much as a child. Her wide brown eyes sought out Larhien's, silently begging that the answer be 'yes.'

Eyes blazed open, with blackened pools of flame that seemed to reside inside his eyes, even as his right hand had shot up and grabbed Lucind's wrist, fingernails digging in before stopping.

"---!" Breath escaped his lips even as he continued staring upwards, even as the blackness receded and yellow once again showed. A loud gasping wheeze escaped soon after, as he lifted his head up and groaned.

"..Where.." He couldn't directly see Owle, but he felt her body heat nontheless, and yacked his head around to look. "Owle?!"

Tired or not, Owle jumped up at the sound of Vahn's voice, her body twisting around so she could look at him.

"I'm right here!"

Oh thank god.

She had been seated on the floor near his feet, so he wouldn't need to look far to find her. Nonetheless, she felt the need to be nearer. Ignoring Larhien, she forced her body to crawl into the car, awkwardly clambering about on the floor until she was next to Lucind.

Once there, she took Vahn's hand in both of hers.

"I'm right here."

"..I need a damn drink.."

Sitting up as best as he could, he shook off whatever was paining him in his head. He hated this feeling..

How much longer would he continue to have to be babied..? Cared for and always in danger of dying.

It's like... everything was trying to tell him his time was up.

"Guess my arm isn't quite what it used to be.." He said weakly in a joking manner. His right hand was held by Owle's and he flinched at the contact, feeling like that arm of his was a burden of burdens.

"There's water in the back..."

Owle looked to Lucind for confirmation. "...right?"

He was alright. He was gonna be alright. It was all going to be alright.

...except that he was in love with a guy. <******** that she didn't have to worry about him being dead, she could worry about all the complications that came with him...had he died, the same complications would still have haunted her, but she wouldn't have any closure, any chance at feeling better. And she wouldn't have had him.

Still, she couldn't ask about that now, about any of it. There would be time once he wasn't feeling so weak. So Owle smiled instead, releasing his hand as it flinched in hers. Still she stayed near him.

"Are you gonna be okay? You had me worried."

The woman said nothing, but Larhien noticed a sigh escaping his sister's lips and that there was a soft frown which didn't want to vanish but accompanied amber eyes which seemed to be a shade darker than usual.

She ignored the stinging marks on her wrist and leaned over the backseats to get one of the smaller water bottles, but didn't directly pass it over to the man and instead reached to the other side, grabbing a small bag from the dashboard to fish out a phial. Lucind unscrewed the bottle, removed the cork with her teeth and emptied the phial's content - a powder, mainly white with tiny greenish dots - into the water. After mixing powder and liquid, she offered it to Vahn.

"Just a few minerals, vitamines and stuff..." If he drank it, the water would just taste a little salty.
"Any real drinks are over in my store," she nodded, as if Feimurgan was just one block away. Only then, something like a smile crept over her lips.

Lucind squeezed Owle's shoulder and left the car, walking a few steps. She could feel her brother's eyes on her.

"Yea, I'm fine. Just didn't know my own strength..."

He rubbed his forehead a bit, not liking the idea of everyone all over him like this. It wasn't just for the sake of his badass 'act', but the fact that he was the one supposed to be helping people, not being helped.

Instead, now he could barely fight without having to be escorted away for instant treatment.

Perhaps his days of fighting were really numbered....

"Thanks." He took the drink, and took it all in one chug, not caring for the bit that spilled past his lips and down his neck.

Of all the damn... "Ungh.. the hell did you give me..?"

"Well, get to know it a little better...you're heavy, you know!"

She said it jokingly, wanting to try and cheer him up. It occurred to her, though, that it was probably the wrong thing to say.

Owle turned to stare at the Siren as Lucind squeezed her shoulder and then left, walking away. She couldn't make heads nor tails of the other woman's behavior.

"Anyway, let's go back to Feimurgan's. I still haven't had that breakfast you promised to buy me."

Though she couldn't help but be a little suspicious of what Lucind had put in Vahn's drink, especially when she saw his face after he took it. Still, Vahn seemed to trust the other woman, so Owle had no call to stop him.

Of all the damn... "Ungh.. the hell did you give me..?"

Right now, she wished for a cigarette.....although she didn't smoke. Well, yeah, she sometimes used the water pipe, but for some reason the Half-Siren didn't count that as 'real' smoking.

Looking down on those blood stains decorating her top, Lucind heard Vahn's question. She didn't turn around but answered nevertheless, making her words cross the distance of maybe fifteen feet.
"Like I said," she replied, almost sounding bored," minerals, vitamines and stuff. What you might feel now is the stuff. Remember back at Yaits when I mentioned 'alternative' methods? That's one of'em. You should give in and sleep. I make sure you won't dream.

But if your body revolts against this, too, I have to try something else. Or simply give you enough booze until you pass out."

Adjusting the shawl on her head, she added: "How do you want to help if you can't accept help yourself...?"

Over at the car, Larhien quietly informed Owle that she didn't have to worry, that it was just part of the traditional Siren medicine.

Sham walked down the central street of the strange town. He had been told about this town and figured he should take a look for all the talk he heard. He didnt know anything about the place or anyone from the town. But he still wanted to look at teh town. He walked down street after street looking at nothing in particular looking at no one. No one seemed to notice him but he didnt care. He prefered not to be disturbed although he wished someone would talk to him. he didn't know where he was in the town so he was hoping someone could help him.

LeJaune was walking, eyes straight down because he was pumped up for a fight because of the music he was listening to. He was paying such little attention that he walked straight into Sham.

"Sorry."
