"He probably just wants to spend time with her," Earendil shrugged as they entered their quarters. "I mean, he's been hearing about her since he was little, she's his father's best friend ..."
He started packing his things - clothes and all, since he had no idea when they would be back on the ship again.

"This is true..." Lin replied as she gathered her stuff, "At least he won't be bored."
She knew how time generally was suppose to seem slow for the young.

"And we won't be long," Earendil murmured as he tossed things into his bag. "Not a lot to get, really."
In fact, he was already finished packing his things. He looked over at Lin. "Need a hand with anything?" he asked her.

"I'm fine," Lin replied putting the last item into her bag, now the room was bare again, "I have everything now. Miyuki do you?"
Miyuki nodded her head up and down, "I got everything!"

Earendil chuckled at Miyuki. She was always so full of energy.
"Come on, then, Amalirahc and Haldia will be waiting for us," he grinned, holding his hand out to Miyuki. "And from now on ... Ancient Tongue, all right, Miyuki? That is the language of this land, so that is what we will speak here, all right? Otherwise, you will not learn it as well."

She couldn't really disagree with that and only nodded to what he said, "Okay ada."
Even though she found it hard, but only because she didn't have as much time learning it as she did High Elven.

Earendil chuckled softly, then leaned over and kissed her lightly on the top of the head. She was a good girl, really. She tried.
"Come on, we should get back before Amalirahc gets impatient," he said, ushering Miyuki towards the door. "And don't worry, Miyuki, before long you'll be speaking the language just as well as Amalirahc."
He smiled at Lin before following Miyuki to the door.

"If say so...." Miyuki murmured before heading back out of the room and back up deck where it was less crowded.
Three people in one room was kind of pushing it.

Up on deck, Haldia and Amalirahc were sitting across from each other Indian-style. Haldia had her hands out, palm up, and Amalirahc had his hands, palm down, hovering just above hers. Their eyes were locked, and both of them were grinning.
"We are ready," Earendil called out as they arrived up on deck. He blinked at the two of them. "What are you doing?"

Miyuki stared at the two, they seemed to be sitting very still.
"What are you doing?" she mimicked her father.

"It is a game of concentration," Haldia replied, her eyes still locked on Amalirahc's. "And a game of attempting to predict your opponent's moves."
She twitched, and Amalirahc pulled his hands away as if he had been burned. She just grinned at him. "That is one."
Amalirahc looked over at Miyuki and the others. "If I do that three times, she gets to hit my hands," he frowned. "But if I do that and she actually moves, then we switch ... but she's really good at it!"
Haldia smiled and lowered her hands, then, standing up, reached over and ruffled the boy's hair. "Looks like game over for now," she laughed. "Come, I think it is time to return to the island."

Miyuki blinked at them a few times, she wasn't sure if she could play a game like that to be honest. She nodded anyways, at what they were saying.
"What do after that?" she asked.
"Lessons of course," Lin murmured.

"For lessons today, we're going to go for a walk in the jungle," Earendil explained, "and Haldia is going to tell us all about it. You can ask any questions you want - as long as they are in this language."
The focus of today's lesson was after all the language - getting Miyuki used to hearing and speaking it, getting comfortable with it.
By this time, Haldia had summoned her spirit, and she was helping Amalirahc climb up. "Come," she smiled. "We will have a fun day together, and then you can come and see my people."

"Ada..." Miyuki looked up at him, "Help please."
She still needed help climbing up on the roc, not quite big enough, not yet.

"I have you," Earendil smiled, picking up Miyuki with one arm and climbing up onto the roc with the other. He sat down and set Miyuki beside him.
"Ready?" Haldia asked, looking at the others.
