'U-Turn?' Sam had time to think before the Scyther had lept forward and swiped at Miles. And then it disappeared into red light. Sam watched Miles carefully, ignoring the Beedrill that had just emerged. Miles held his stomach in pain, so the hit must have been very powerful. Sam wondered vaguely what type of move that was before she finally turned her attention back to the battle at hand. Bugsy seemed to already have an advantage if he could switch his Scyther out at will like that. Sam hadn't studied Beedrill's, but she figured they had the same basic weaknesses as the other Bug Pokemon. Besides, now Miles had practiced with his new move right?

"Rock Tomb again, Miles! From all sides!" Sam had seen a few battles with Beedrills, and she knew that they were fast. If Sam could slow it down, she felt she could gain a tiny advantage. Miles nodded in agreement. The U-Turn had really hurt, and though he still felt ready to battle, he wanted to get it done and over with. He didn't much like the idea of being hit by more U-Turns. Miles brought forth even more boulders, tearing up the Gym even further. Sam hoped that Bugsy wouldn't be angry that Miles was destroying the Gym's floor. Sam noticed that Miles had launched the boulders right in front of him, but he had also levitated the boulders that had landed behind the Scyther. Now the boulders were coming at the Beedrill from behind as well as from the front. Sam grinned for the first time, glad that Miles had followed her instructions, and exceeded her expectations. She felt some of her confidence returning, even though Miles was already hurting. 'We can totally win this,' Sam thought to herself, as she crossed her fingers that this time, the boulders would hit.

The training session was going fairly well, Amy had noticed, but then there was something else happening...

"Fearows...?" she asked, then she blinked. "Oh, t-there's people!" She turned to her paused Pokemon urgently. "We should check if they're okay!" Without another word, the girl was hurrying off to find whoever was in trouble.

Team Amy found themselves hurrying on Route 25, only to run into a group of four.

"...coordinators extraordinaire!" two of them shouted in unison, and then they summoned some interesting looking Pokemon.

"U-um," Amy said quietly to the girl closest to her, Claire. "Were you, by any chance, one of those parachuters that got attacked by the Fearows...? I could've sworn some of them landed over here... I wanted if know if they were all right..." She smiled hesitantly, and then realized she was probably interrupting a battle.

"Oh, I'm sorry... I'll just um..." What would she even do? Without another the word, Amy smiled and shrunk back a little.

As luck would have it, the girl in the clearing was suddenly rushing out of the way. Unfortunately, as luck would also have it, Moti found himself to be caught in a sudden updraft that began to violently carry him back north of the city over Route 25. With a loud riiiip, the parachute’s hole expanded even more and the poor man found himself plummeting toward a group of trainers on the ground.

”Aw, man, see Jon, I told you that it was too much.” Mina mumbled discouraged by the less-than-enthusiastic response by Claire and Rajasi. But before Jon could respond otherwise, another person had joined the fray.

“What do you mean parachuters?” Jon asked, totally oblivious to what had happened in the skies moments beforehand. He had been working hard to polish his Solrock after all!

“Oh, yeah, I heard that they were okay.” Rajasi said with a shrug. There was no need to admit that the two of them were the aforementioned parachuters. It would be better if they avoided any further attention. Unfortunately for Rajasi, their cover was about to be totally blown.

”Watch out!” Moti shouted as he had neared the ground on collision course with none other than the young girl from the earlier clearing. Although there wasn’t much he could do, Yang had begun to use her Psychic to try and slow the pair down. Hopefully the poor lass had good reflexes.

"Watch out!"

"W-what..." Amy slowly looked up, eyes widening. "Oh!" She tried to stumble forward, but at the speed Moti was going, he'd end up crashing directly into her.

"Bay! Bayleef!" Flora called to the girl, who was more concerned about her glasses slipping off than her being crushed. She felt okay, but she could not see a thing.

"Woopah," Marshall said, padding over to the two. He gazed blankly up at Moti, mouth opening wide. "Woop!"

"Are you all right?" Amy asked the man, fingers dragging her glasses back. They seemed fine, too! "I'm really sorry.. I should've moved..."

And with a soft thud, Moti ran straight into the girl. After bowling her out of the way he continued for a few good feet, managing some nice cuts, before coming to a halt inches away from a rather large tree. Meanwhile, Yang had abandoned ship and landed gracefully on the ground nearby. Figuring that her master would be fine, she psychically lifted away the parachute and then moved over to the poor pedestrian Moti squished in his unfortunate rampage.

“Ugh.” Moti muttered as he pulled himself out of the dirt. He took a few seconds before getting in an upright, sitting position. “Sorry about that!” Moti exclaimed as he began to check himself for the damage. Luckily it had been a body to body contact, so the other person shouldn’t of had any significant damage. And speaking of the other person, the orange haired, man took a moment to survey his casualty.

A young girl. A young nerdy looking girl with short brown hair and a cute red sundress. A Bayleef and a…

“Woopah!”

A very close Wooper. Then racking his focus outward, Moti noticed the other four people in this group. “Well, what do you know, it’s Rajasi and Claire. Fancy running into you here!” Moti added. “Well, I guess not actually running into you, but into that young lady over there. No need to apologize though,” He added as she began to, “It was totally beyond your control, if anything I should have had my Espeon there push you out of the way.” He paused and then decided it couldn’t hurt to make a formal introduction. “I’m Moti by the way.”

Amy stared in slight amazement at the Espeon. It was such a pretty Pokemon... She slipped her glasses back on, and smiled to man.

"I'm Amy," she said as she stood up. "It's nice to meet you, Moti!" She blinked, gazing at Marshall.

"...Woop."

"Marshall," Amy called, and the Wooper happily headed back to her. "I'm sorry about him..." Her attention briefly drifted back to Espeon. "What a beautiful Pokemon..."

“Nice to meet you too, Amy.” Moti replied as he got up, dusting the dirt and brambles off of his lavender shirt and pants.

’Thanks Amy!’ Yang thought-spoke to the girl.

“Yep, Shining, or Yang as I sometimes call her, is quite the charmer. And a psychic type which is a major plus if you ever need something from across the room and are too lazy to get up. Or too sore as I suspect I will be in the near future.” Moti added with a thoughtful glance.

”Aaanyway.” Jon interrupted. “I’m glad you're both alright, but can you please move out of the middle of our battlefield? We were about to have a contest battle and show off our cool team moves.”

“C’mon, Jon. We don’t want to be rude, this man just literally fell from the sky. Give him a break.” Mina added, her Lunatone humming in agreement.

”My, my! How rude of me!” Moti responded as he hurriedly moved out of the way. “You kids have fun with your fight, and meet me at the Pokemon Center, I’m going to go with Amy here and get her some lunch or something as compensation for my intrusion in her personal space. If you don’t mind that is?” he addressed the girl.

”Will do,” Claire replied. Too stunned to have previously said anything. “Glad you made it through that. We’ll catch up later.” And with that said and done, she pulled out her Pokeball and with a flourish, her blue Gastly, Yokai had appeared on the battlefield with his usual mischievous grin.

Amy didn't seem too surprised by the telepathic abilites of Yang, but she merely smiled at the Psychic-type.

"Oh, sorry," Amy said quickly as she removed herself from the battlefield. Then she glanced up at Moti and smiled a little. "I don't mind at all. Thank you!"

What a nice person... Amy thought happily as she checked up on her Pokemon. Flora was standing dutifully beside her, while Marshall was sort of circling the two, happily chanting his name.

"Have you been to Cerulean before?" Amy asked as she headed to stroll beside Moti. She absent-mindedly brushed off her dress as she waited for an answer.

“I’ve visited Cerulean in the past but not recently. I think the last time I was here was when I got my last gym badge.” Moti said with a chuckle as the two began to walk southward. “I’m afraid I’m not up to date on the happenings in the city though so if you know a place you’d like to visit feel free to lead the way.”

“What brings you to the city?” Moti asked. It sure seemed to be bustling, and they weren’t exactly at the heart of the urban area either. It’d take a few more minutes of walking before the group would be over the bridge/boardwalk and into the limits of the bustling town.

Seeing as their masters were getting acquainted, Yang decided to make small talk with the nice Bayleef trotting alongside her. “Hiya! I’m Yang, the Espeon, what's your name?”
PostPosted: Sun Aug 15, 2010 3:12 pm

"I haven't really explored all the places yet," Amy admitted, glancing about the city. "So I wouldn't know a place where we could eat... and I'm here because of the contest tonight." The girl smiled at the thought.

Flora blinked and smiled at the Espeon happily. "Bay! Bayleef!" I'm Flora! It's nice to meet you, Yang!

"What brings you here?" Amy asked after a moment, eyes open for any nice-looking places to go.

“Ah, that sounds like it’ll be fun! I didn’t realize one of those was going on today. That explains the crowds, too.” Moti said as he looked for a nice café somewhere that the two could just chill at for a while. “I’m here on business I’m afraid. But we had time to do a little sightseeing of the coast although I’m going to have to say something to my boss for booking a trip with that crazy skydiving company.”

“Of course, I’ve been thinking about ditching this gig anyway, so maybe it isn’t worth the paperwork. I never got very far into my gym challenges and I think my team would be ready to take on a few more.”

The two had made it closer to the Pokemon Center by now and then Moti saw a cozy looking restaurant. The sign above the door read the “Ludicolo Lotus” and had a picture of the Carefree Pokemon with teacups balanced on its head among a field of lotus flowers. “What do you think about that one?” Moti asked.
PostPosted: Sun Aug 15, 2010 3:41 pm

"It looks nice," Amy said, heading inside. The cafe was surprisingly empty, save for a couple or two, so they would have no trouble finding a table to sit at.

"What do you do?" Amy asked once they had sat down, Marshall and Flora settling beside the table.

Moti let Amy lead the way to the table and pulled out the chair for her before taking his own seat across the table. Deciding it would be best to return Yang, he have her a scratch behind the ears and then returned her to her ball. Before Moti could answer the question, a rather happy Ludicolo danced over to the table with two menus resting upon its sombrero. It let out a cheerful “Luidcolo!” before handing the aforementioned items to the two youths and then waltzed off to check on other customers.

“This restaurant sure sticks to its advertisment, eh? Must have taken a while to get the waiters though as Ludicolo are from Hoenn if I’m not mistaken.” Moti replied as he glanced through the menu trying to decide on what would be the best dish to order. He finally decided on a simple grilled ham and cheese sandwich and a glass of water. In a moment a woman of about the same age as Moti came over. Her name tag read 'Juliet Alenka.'

“I’m Juilet, and along with my team of Luidcolo, I’ll be taking care of you today.” She said with a short bow. “Are you ready to order?”

Amy decided to take a note from Moti and recalled her Pokemon, just in time for the Ludicolo to arrive. They were so... happy. Amy felt as if it were infecting her, and she smiled. They'd be wonderful for contests...

Amy quickly scanned the menu, and closed it only a few moments later, having decided what she wanted. She smiled at Juliet, hands placed in her lap.

"I am," Amy said, but she gave a glance to Moti. She didn't want to be rude; she would order when he did!

Leon wasn't going to lie; the woman was attractive. Unfortunately her personality left much to be desired, and he stepped back casually, fishing out a PokéBall and sending forth Ghos. Even Leon, though, had to focus to make sure his eyes didn't drift downwards to observe the woman's body more, and he get his bored gaze on the Gas Pokémon that was in front of him.

"Giga Drain," He commanded Ghos, who looked a bit puzzled for a moment. Something seemed to click, though, and he began to try to use the attack, a few rather large, greenish orbs floating slowly towards the Geodude. Leon was fairly sure that there were supposed to be more orbs, and that they were supposed to move faster, but Ghos was using the attack for the first time, so he couldn't really expect him to be able to perform it perfectly.
