Armads the Doom Bringer

17+3 = 20 (Heart)

The third shuriken hit about a centimeter above the second one. It appeared that lightning could strike twice, or he was actually somewhat capable with these little metal death dealing weapons. Perhaps if he kept doing well with these weapons he could begin to specialize in them and become truly formidable. It was a doubtful prospect, but it was a possibility nonetheless. The fourth shuriken was just as shiny as the others, and Minoru could see his reflection in it. He prepared to try to throw it sideways like a discus, instead of throwing it like a dart. It was possible that there were better ways to use these weapons, and maybe Minoru was on his way to discovering those secrets.

18+3 = 21 (Heart)

Again the shuriken flew gracefully through the air. Again it struck home in the dummy's heart. Either Minoru was really lucky, or he had struck gold in using these things. While he liked the kunai more, Minoru seemed to have natural talent in wielding the tiny weapons. He wondered if there were any that had special abilities, since he had heard there were things like exploding kunai. That was a though for a later date however; Minoru had to finish this arduous task first. He picked up his second to last shuriken and tried throwing it like he had the previous time. Perhaps he would be able to duplicate the effect and the success that he had achieved the previous three times.

NAT 20 = (Heart)

Minoru's second to last throw hit the heart yet again, almost as if there was a magnet drawing them all there. He considered the idea that there was some form of divine intervention going on. He had failed to complete many of the other challenges in any semblance of order or speed. Even his hand seals took him at least an hour to learn. Maybe this exercise was some form of reward for pushing through those past challenges. Still it was prudent to not get too cocky. There were still screw ups to be had, and he only had one shuriken left. With any luck he would be able to finish this exercise on this last throw. It was a long shot, but a kid could dream couldn't he?

16+3 = 19 (Head)

Minoru wilted slightly as the shuriken curved in mid-flight and struck the dummy in the head. Considering the scale that he was working on, he had just missed the opportunity to complete this training. He walked up and took all the shuriken and kunai out of the dummy. After all this way he could take as much time as he needed. He picked up one of his shuriken out of the pile and tried to line up his throw. Even though this training had gone relatively fast, it was still something he needed to finish. With the Genin exams drawing closer with each second, he needed to get this done on schedule. At least he didn't have anyone else around. Minoru preferred to train alone, so he could completely focus on the task at hand. It was unfortunate that he would be stuck with a group of people he didn't know.

11+3 = 14 (Stomach)

Minoru's final throw hit the dummy in the stomach, an ironic turn of events to his eyes. After all it showed that even with all his success he was still human in the end. Minoru quickly retrieved the shuriken and put all his weapons away. With any luck he would get the chance to train with them again. He quickly pulled out his academy scroll, scanning it to figure out what he still needed to do. Unfortunately he had failed to complete two or three other things, one of which he needed other people to do. He reluctantly resigned himself to the fact that unless he found someone above Genin level, he was basically screwed. However the other two exercises were still available for practice.

Minoru decided to move on to a Jutsu that he hadn't learned the day before, but looked easy enough to complete. All he had to do was switch places with another object; in this case it was a small rock. Seeing as he didn't have the rock he used in his Henge lesson, he picked a random rock off the ground. It wasn't like it mattered what rock he used. He placed it on a stump a few feet away, then went back and began making hand seals. How hard could this Jutsu be anyway? Even if it seemed like it was easy, there was always the glaring possibility of failure, although he had done especially well in the other Jutsus so far. Still they were mutually exclusive so it didn't matter how well he had done before.

19+2 = 21 PASS

Minoru easily found himself standing on the stump the pebble had been on. It wasn't like he was trying anything new after all, if he could make clones of himself and make himself look like other people; it was altogether possible that he could switch places with objects. He wondered if he could also switch places with unwilling people. That would be very useful in turning an opponent’s ranged attack against him. It would be less useful in other situations, but this was a defensive Jutsu after all, not an offensive one. Minoru decided that instead of replacing the pebble, he would just go back and forth so he didn't have to move it. He tried focusing on where the pebble had landed and tried again.

11+2 = 13 PASS

Minoru managed to repeat his past success, but he stumbled forward after he did. Apparently he wasn't nearly as adept at switching places with objects he couldn't see. Even if it sounded easy, it didn't mean that it was. The fact that he was even able to complete it that time was a shock to Minoru. He had assumed that he had failed that last time. It was quite amusing to think that if he failed he would end up somewhere random, like the bottom of the ocean or something. He would have to try displacing himself with another substance in the future, not that it would happen anytime soon. Minoru seemed to have a habit of thinking up things that were too advanced for him to attempt. Even so he made mental notes of the things that he wanted to try so he could come back to them when he was of a suitable level.

6+2 = 8 FAIL

It seemed if Minoru wasn't focusing, he wouldn't finish the Jutsu. Where the first two attempts had gone over nearly flawlessly, this past one had done nothing to further his training whatsoever. He just ended up wasting his chakra as Minoru's mind went other places. Quickly refocusing his mind, he looked back over at the pebble on the stump. He wondered what kind of condition the objects he switched with were in, since they often seemed to be more or less the pawns of the exchange. He wondered if on a smaller level, they were losing something when they switched places. It didn't really matter either way. Minoru focused on the Jutsu again, and hoped for the best outcome possible.

9+2 = 11 FAIL

Perhaps this Jutsu wasn't nearly as easy as Minoru had first thought. But tough training made for tough men, and that was how Minoru wanted to see himself, however far from the truth it may be. Strength was respected, loved, feared, and worshiped all at the same time. The Senju had strength, not that they seemed to do much with it. Someday Minoru would make sure that his strength would put even them to shame. Nonetheless he had to finish the task in front of him, and it was pathetic that it was giving him this much trouble. He quickly repeated the handseals and tried to switch places with the pebble yet again.

It seemed that jealously was the best policy for Minoru. For the third time he had managed to switch locations with the pebble. Oddly enough Minoru wasn't getting all that tired. His fight with Conan had served that purpose well enough. With any luck the upcoming Genin exams would include another round of fighting. There was no better way to test out your skills than to use them in actual combat. Of course if it came down to having to show off, Minoru was royally screwed in every sense of the word. For now though, he still had to focus his attentions on finishing the curriculum. He would definitely finish before the exam started, but he wasn't sure if he would be proficient when it happened.

NAT 1 = AUTO FAIL

It appeared that he wouldn't be able to continue his streak after all. On one hand he had easily completed the jutsu's he had attempted before. At the same time it was costing him valuable time that he could have been using to train more useful abilities. But his personal feelings didn't change the fact that it was required training for all ninjas. As useless as it appeared, it could end up saving his life one day. Minoru went through the hand seals again as a warm up before running through them again to attempt the jutsu again. He had to succeed this time; there was just too much left to do. With any luck he would be done everything before the exam, but if he somehow missed one or two things, would they still allow him to take the test?

11+2 = 13 PASS

With the familiar rush and the feeling of his feet on new ground, Minoru sighed as he completed the Kawamiri no Jutsu for the fourth time. With that he crossed it off his list of things that he needed to do, since it said that only four successes were required in order to complete the exercise. Now he had to find something else to do to occupy his time, while also working towards his current goal of getting a promotion. No one ever gave you respect as an academy student, no matter what you knew or how hard you worked. Status was everything, and it always would be. Unless someone came along to change that, that is.

Azusa slowly made her way into the meadow not far from the memorial stone, she looked over at it longingly and wondered, would she ever find her brother, and if she were to, would he end up on that stone as well. She closed her eyes pushing back the tears from starting, thinking back to him just disappearing like he had without a trace. She clenched her fists choking on her breath every few seconds as she slowly regained her composure, rubbing her face with her sleeve before opening her eyes with a look of determination.

"I'll find out what happened Onii-chan..."

She bent her knees lightly as she slapped her hands together quickly cycling her hands through the seals Tiger Boar Ox and Dog. Building up chakra in her stomach as she closed her eyes focusing on trying to make a copy of herself.

(Isn't it kind of weird to be using Dex for something chakra/focus based?)
