The Shadow reacted quickly, flinging itself together, ideally with Helmsborough directly in between them. It couldn't keep him, but whatever time he would have to take to get clear would be worth the cost.

Helmsborough blasted each side away from him with whatever accompanied the red light and followed Sabre.

((The whole idea is that it's impossible to tell who's who, making it much more of a challenge to single out your foe without getting ripped up. Obviously not much ripping going, but that's the concept.))
The Shadow-halves slammed themselves back together a distance from Helmsborough, and then suddenly did something rather surprising. A hand burst from the mess, and before Helmsborough could probably react, it had launched a lightning-bolt soul-attack at his chest. He might have a block, but it had all happened very quickly; hopefully, this would at least give him a nasty shock.

Helmsborough took the attack with his shield, which dispelled the attack as it approached. Helmsborough swung his blade and released an arc of red at the Shadow.

Joe glanced up at Siber. He saw the small smile. Returning it (but not visibly) Joe said, "Hey. I was right, wasn't I? What I told you when we first met?"

Siber looked at him. "Joe, I'm surprised when I can remember conversations I had two hours in the past. I imagine you told me your name, so yes, you were right about that."

After Joe clarified, Siber raised his eyebrows and looked back at the healing mass of bloody flesh. "Yeah, I think so. I've been mostly enjoying it, thus far."

The Shadow slid itself under the arc with ease, then dashed around to behind Helmsborough, waiting to see a weakness.

Looking to Renard, Joe said, "You know, I have a lot of energy. If you want a bit of healing stuff, just let me know. You can use it on her." He waved vaguely at Linda.
Joshua was coming along nicely.

Obviously Helmsborough intended to make no move. Sabre, however, had even less desire to shift positions. So he decided to work on escaping instead of fighting. Sinking down to the ground, the Shadows' facial features disappeared and the Shadows themselves spread out all across Helmsborough's barrier, looking for a weakness.
