catzeye21138 fatcheehcs catzeye21138 I don't really care lol. I'm kinda oblivious to the different kinds of flutes. Hey does anyone know that when you get to High School if you have to pick 1 instrument or if you can do 2? My band director said I was marvelous on the French horn. sweatdrop you can switch to wherever you are needed. or if not then do waht you really like to play. my bd lets us learn another instrument, but gets mad if we dont commit to both. I started the french horn a while ago(didn't I just say this... I'm losing my memory. XP) and play it in the begining band and the flute in advanced band but my band director is sooo super excited that he has two french horns and an expirienced music reader as one of them! xd He asked me to play extra loud so that everyone else could try to match it lol. In my band, we only do one O.o; unless you're in Jazz band and you play a different one there. I have your answer for you! Open-hole does make a difference. My friend has a silver-plated nickel open hole and sound five billion times as better then my student one. Exaggeration, I know. But, that same friend, didn't clean her flute before putting it away for the summer, so on Tuesday night, at rehearsal, it started dripping mold. ICK!

I run a rag through my flute after every single time I play it. So do the other two flutes, kinda a habit I guess. =) A good habit though. x)

Ya, you could call it that, I call it a nessicity. x3 Though most of the time, when I practice at home, I leave my flute together and stand it against something (mostly my desk) to let it drip dry or evaporate, whichever comes first, either cleaning it out or standing it up works. As long as it isn't wet and you seal it away in the case.

Jessica J I play the flute in concert band, wow I didn't know there were so many flutist on this site! ^^ (happy biggrin whee mrgreen ) I guess I'm in a concert band too. X3 We don't march or play at games, its a school band and we do a spring show, winter show, music fest and every other year musical. I only got to go to musical once! crying But I get to go to choir twice of course. stare Last year someone fell of the risers and had a concussion. gonk We all were in the audience watching them get judged singly and she fell off, we were all singing for like an hour for her. =( Poor girl. I fell off in the mass choir from the top row! gonk I almost broke my butt bone! XDD It was really sore the rest of the day! And someone called the paramedics because they thought I had a concussion too. xp Yah, a butt concussion! rofl
