Mello smirked,"Well actually I'm not sure, I could say that the eyes were going to establish a bond between the growing star village and the already powerful mist. I could even go as far to say that I wanted to collect a bounty and was using the eyes as proof of his death. Those would sound the best right, of course their complete fabrications," He pointed out emphasizing on the 'too good to be true' most humans had learned in their lifetimes. "I work as a free agent in the village hidden wthin the stars, where Noble families gain power by hiring shinobi to fight their battles for them. I was ordered to take the eyes which had been recovered by Zakuro to trick you into revealing the Nibi's location." He stated plainly not giving others the chance to interrupt as he continued his conversation."What they wanted with him I have no true idea, but perhaps it could be the treasures he reaped from defeating akatsuki's previous leader. That would explain why Shigoro was sent along with me as he has always had an interest in fascinating and unique weapons. I can guarantee you though that these eyes weren't from an innocent rain shinobi, but a crimminal who doesn't deserve the honor of resting in peace." He fell silent almost lost in thought for a moment, it seemed those words had affected him somehow. "My words are harsh, but they are the truth. The reality of the shinobi system in it's many flaws. The byakugan are authentic and you would've received them if it wasn't for the many interruptions, the only reason in particular we came to ask the mizukage was because of Mist's strained past with the man." Mello's face wasn't ideal like the other ninjas but constantly changing of emotions, Mello's only flaw was his emotional control and now it seemed it was overwhelming him. "The Byakugan are merely tools, meant to further ambition. Don't take them for what their not a remnant of a fallen hero." He turned to Makoto almost ready to laugh. "Speaking of leaf, you know the ultimate sign of respect there is. A single headstone standing in the center of a field baring the names of shinobi who's lives were lost defending the village. Harsh isn't it, so such pleasentries of respect or honor are rare in the shinobi world." Mello's words were harsh, but they were accurate they were indeed the truth. They didn't make the world sound Ideal like Makoto had, instead reminding those around him of reality.

Luo nodded towards the man slowly, he had an idea in mind. "I feel as if there is a way I can satisfy both of you without getting myself, or my country too involved in this affair. Makoto, as of right now rain and mist are not concrete allies as before I became kage, Zane Hajime disconnected all ties with other countries. Although I could very well just take both eyes for myself, I am not one for rudeness. I request that I be given the rights to one of the eyes. I will purchase them from this man, and give you the other for the rain village to keep, and I invite your kage to come personally to my village so we can speak face to face. Does this sound fair?"

 Makoto UchihaMakoto didn't like how Mello just insulted the rain shinobi. "I am dissappointed that this merchant just disrespected the rain village....the kage will not be pleased to hear this at all. But, I will accept that request Lord Mizukage...at least the hyuga family will not be glaring down at us both. I'll speak to the kage as soon as I can, once I return home and inform the kage. Thank you for letting him have a decent burial with one remaining part." He said bowing slightly to him. It was a fair deal after all. He stood up and waited for the transaction to be completed "You cannot comprehend the extent of my powers..."

((Yeah, I saw Likkys, sorry! And I might actually be online for a bit longer than expected.))
Luo sighed staring at the two. "Good. Enough of this back and forth he said she said business. You two have been arguing like children longer than I have time to deal with. Mello, this goes along with my plan for the eyes. You said you would give them both to me for the price of two questions you wished to ask me, with one pass between both questions. So ask away Mello." Mello had pointed out some very good things Luo took note of, but Luo did not enjoy slandering a village without any real reason other than simple defense of one's character.
He then added to his statements, "And yes Mello, I agree the shinobi world is with its flaws. And yes it is agreed that with the business of eyes, it is understood that he who kills the individual with the doujutsu is able to do what he wishes with the eyes. However as Mokoto had explained, black marketing is indeed looked down upon, especially a kage who has to uphold the respect of an entire country." Glancing back at Altair, Luo looked at Mello once more. "As for the Nibi, what do you want with it, and who is the noble family you work for? As you can already tell, it seems it is in someone elses posession at the moment. What do you stand to gain by obtaining it since you yourself stated your reason for being here being because you are a free agent working for a noble family afterall."

Makoto UchihaMakoto merely said nothing. As long as he was getting an eye, war will not break out. Though he appeared unhappy that his village was just insulted, which didn't set well with him. But he waited to see what Mello was going to offer to Luo, whatever it was."You cannot comprehend the extent of my powers..."

Shigoro had been quietly standing off to one side the entire time. Now he stepped forward. "Excuse me, if I may. I do not know which of our village killed the one with Byakugan, but it would follow that the eyes would be property of the village that the man's killers hailed from. While I claim no high ranking in our village I am still marginally higher up the ladder than Mello, and while I detest this action I must cleave true to certain traditions of my family, among them the duty to see that any being is buried as whole of body as is possible. I am sorry for this, Lord Mizukage, but the village that a deceased shinobi inhabited has strongest claim on his remains. The eyes will go to the Rain Village."
Shigoro was well aware that this would piss several people off. He derived, deep in the chasms of his soul, some small fraction of a spark of pleasure from seeing others explode with anger and disbelief when he had no capacity for such emotions any more.

Makoto UchihaMakoto showed no expression, his face unchanged. But he was very suprised at what this mysterious man said. Obviously there was more to him then Mello. He seemed he has been on the earth longer then Mello, maybe even himself. But he then looked at the Mizukage, this was his desicion as well. "You cannot comprehend the extent of my powers..."

Luo shrugged casually, the eyes at this point were of no concern of his. He then looked from Shigoro to Mokoto. "Very well then. Mokoto as you hail from the rain village, do with the eyes what you will. Take them both home, or give one to the mist. I lay no claim to the artifacts, and certainly don't feel like fighting for them." The decision had in no way affected Luo's emotional state. His previous decision was to make both parties happy, but this one seems to do that as well. He then turned back to Shigoro curiously. "So Shigoro, tell me what the point of spouting off all that information to me earlier was if you were just going to change your whole reason for coming here by giving the eyes to Mokoto. Seems rather contradictory to whatever it is you guys were doing if you just abandon your mission now."

Shigoro shrugged as he took the jar from Mello. "I am here and our Elder is not. this is a third 'future' he would not have seen, as he was not looking for it. You rejecting or accepting the eyes was one 'branch,' but you not making the decision at all may well be another. And regardless of our mission my clan considers it our duty to preserve the sanctity of death. These are yours, i believe."
He unscrewed the lid of the jar and took off his glove, reaching inside the jar and gently taking out the eyes. He held them in his palm for a moment, seemingly unaffected by the gruesome objects in his palm, then held them out towards Makoto Uchiha. "If you wish I shall attend the funeral. I understand from the stories my comrades have told that he was a most worthy opponent."

Makoto UchihaMakoto nods. He turned to Mello and spoke. "If you please, I need the eyes to bring to my village....and thank you Mizukage. I'll remember this. As to you, Shigoro. The rain will most appreciate this, and we avoided possible war. Which I am sure neither side needs." He said as he took the jar, which he did something odd, his hand went through Shigoro's hand, reemerging with the eyes in his hand. How he did it, none will know. He looked back at Shigoro. "I'll be sure to reach you for the funeral of this young mans. I thank you again. We'll be meeting soon" He said as his around his eye began to swirl until suddenly he was gone, vanished. He learned what he needed, and the rain will be pleased "You cannot comprehend the extent of my powers..."

Luo sighed as the man took his leave. He sensed there was more to his presence than the eyes, but decided not to worry about it for now. Staring at the pair, Luo pondered out loud. "Now what? It seems now there is no reason for you to be here unless you have other business with me you wish to speak about."
