She grimaced at the voices, and the barest shine of light that she could make out in her own darkness. She wasn't sure what these things were...they were packed full of energy she could feel that. But they weren't something she could reach out and touch it seemed and that instantly set her on her guard, her posture stiffening defensively. "Loud and monotone is what I would call you both.

"Well, predictibility is good, but it's not something that I want as a constant. A nice balance would be good...when things get too structured people forget to find the wonder in life...and when there's not enough structure everyone is scared of what could possibly happen next. So yes, I think balance is key." A little blink as she looked to him as somehow the conversation got on her. "I suppose you could look at it that way. I never really know exactly how something is going to pan out so I'm always surprised. And somethings what I make helps people....the Laerethe seemed rather taken aback with my inventing and very appreciative at the same time."

She merely inclined her head. "Comes from my father. He has a head for those sorts of things. It has come in handy once or twice." She wanted to chuckle at Savvy's observation but thought it might offend the balls of light. "Loud perhaps, but I don't think I'd call them both monotone. The yellow one especially has a higher pitched voice." Though she frowned, "I wouldn't know...that term is largely unfamiliar to me?" Glancing over at Savvy. Too bad the girl couldn't see or she'd mouth 'butthead'? It didn't sound like a pleasant thing at all. "Not participating in a game hardly seems grounds for name-calling, however."

Areesa muttered a 'hmph' in response to Savvy and then let her light drift on over to Shyrae. "I wouldn't?" Flickering for a moment. "No, I don't think I would, I'm picky, aren't I Xeke?" She made a humming noise for a moment and then bounced once. "Just because you can't keep up with them doesn't mean either of those two are true. It does, however, mean you're a butthead."

"I say they are energetic but then again they are energy, though mostly it's Areesa who is the more hyper one. Still they act like a couple." Caden could be seen walking to wards the elves and little balls of light with a small smile. A look to Areesa and Xeke and his smile grew. "Well it's nice to see the two of you again, where have you been?" They always seem to come and go, though he didn't mind ti he just had to wonder where they go. A look to the elves and he gave a small nod of hello before turning to Shyrae. "I saw the cook come downstairs pretty much pissed, dusty, and somewhat off, did I miss something?"

"Can't wonder be structured too? Like the enjoyment we find in life, among various other responsibilities..." Oh, now they were getting into all the abstract concepts that he often had troubles wrapping his head around. People found it frustrating, maybe it was time to tactically avoid the subject? She got a look of interest though as all of a sudden he seemed to realize that while he was very much intrigued by the Laerethe, they were probably also interested in the things in this plane. "Your inventions are very useful and they are like surprises of sorts, to me anyways."

"Monotone, I'll concede. It's not like we can change our voices to mimic the tone and pitch of others." Continuing to merely pulse in place, seemingly content that one of the elves was on his side. "Haven't you considered the possibility that it's you that can never explain things properly?" Turning somewhat at the new voice though, rune dimming momentarily. "A couple... of what? And we have been here, in this plane, around."

She was still stiff, unsure of these....creatures? Exactly what were they and why wasn't she able to more or less reach out and touch them? Because they were too fast or they were simply not something to touch? Of course uncomfortable for her translated into mean. All she knew was that one was yellow. Ears again twitched at Caden's voice...even he seemed to know what these things were. She was feeling out of her element and even more defensive.

"I never said wonder couldn't be structured. It all just doesn't need to be structured to every breath and even move, every blink and step. Sometimes it's nice to step off the beaten path to find new adventure." Giving him a light smile...it was not often that you could surprise Kaznec and it was a sort of an honor for him to be indeed surprised. "Glad to see you think that way...and if so you'll probably enjoy what I'm making next once I'm fully back on my feet, so to soeak. Maybe even you will find a use for it."

"Magical balls of energy with a rune in the middle. Not unlike the toys my father used to make although those were never actually alive. They won't harm you, Savvy, but they do seem to have personalities." Keeping her voice low enough that only the elf beside her could hear her. "Look through my or Chy's eyes if it will help put your mind at ease."

She turned to Caden and nodded, "Yes, I believe you did. He and I had a little disagreement and he used unnneeded measures so I retaliated in kind. He found himself out in the middle of the sandsea and that dragon female that's always stripping went out and saved him." Crossing her arms, "Needless to say, I don't think he'll attempt such a thing again."

"Hyper? That sounds like sulky and I already claimed I wasn't sulky." Her rune blinked again and she shot through Xeke's ball once just because. "No. I explain things just fine. You don't listen and you don't pay attention long enough to catch it when the rules change. They really aren't that hard of games." Her light flashed over Caden's face momentarily. "I popped in on Kazzy and Bellah a little bit ago but they were having a private conversation."

A look to the blue ball and he cocked an eyebrow. "A couple, like a man and a woman who are together. You two seem to argue all the time so I think you argue like a couple some times." A look to Savvy though and he watched her for a moment, it seemed she looked uneven, maybe she didn't know about the Seons? She wasn't talking much. Heck they've been out here for awhile so he thought everyone knew them by now. A look to Areesa and he blinked. " Hyper is the opposite of sulky though, still you seem full of life, always bouncing around and being cheerful." He smiled though as she came closer to him and flashed a little of her light. "Ah alright, well it's good to know that Kaz and Jae are fine." A small nod to that before he looked to Shyrae and he nodded. "Well whatever he did he got what was coming to him, though that dragon helped him? And here I thought she doesn;t care for anything much." A small shrug before he sat down and sighed lightly.

And Caden got a rock dropped on his head.

"I heard that!"

before she slipped back into the crow's nest.

Mister Richard's came above deck, and as he thought, the elves we're doing anything.

"Ladies. you have work that needs to be done and handled. If you continue to disregard my orders, I'll be forced to take measures on it. and I don't think either of you want that to happen."

before putting his boot on the back of someone who was watching the interaction rather than scrubbing the deck, and shoved him down.

"Not your concern, back to work."

putting his boot down on the deck again.

"Now, kindly get to your posts if you would."

See, abstract was not good. And he blinked at her words for a moment, were those metaphors for something else? "But those things are structured because we control ourselves and our actions. Unless you mean if someone altered your body so that it wouldn't follow your mental instructions..." A mildly content flick of his tail as she took his words as compliments. Well, he just spoke the truth. "What are you planning?" Look of keen interest.

Again, a different frequency of pulsing happened as different colored lights joined for a brief second. Perhaps beautiful to the passerby but probably uncomfortable for the Seons themselves if they hadn't toned down themselves before doing the action. Burst of energies would overload anyone. "Maybe it's because I don't find enjoyment in your games. Why do you like them so much anyways? And where did you learn them?" A pause. "They are always having private conversations. It's like he's hesitant to talk to anyone else."

Floating towards the human who had an odd vocabulary. "We are neither man or woman. The different genders of your race cannot live in peaceful harmony without arguing? Is that part of the procreation process?" Paying no attention to the other human that then joined them, he merely hovered back over towards the yellow ball and settled in the air, motionless. "Did Eilynne say anything about Ilindal?"

Oh well that made sense...but these things had minds of their own in a sense and that was still disturbing for her. Though she did venture a look through other people's eyes...just a peek seeing as she was personally feeling taxed in that department. A frown however at the first mate as he came to bark orders. "Are you always a slave driver? I did my part...now leave my be to rest." Uh oh, getting argumentative again.

"I'm just saying that not everything goes according to plan. Leave it at that." No sense in twisting him up in things that would only do to frustrate him and the like. Someone had to be clear headed right now...and she was either not feeling well...or experiencing contempt for one who had done nothing to her. It was shameful really. "That's a surprise. You're just going to have to wait and see. I'll let you be first to see too."

Shyrae reached out and scribed a rune to shift the direction of the falling rock, which was rather large since it was meant to harm Caden, over. Unfortunately for Mister Richard's, he happened to walk into the very spot Shyrae had just shifted the rock. She blinked as he made an allusion to disciplinary measures and she huffed, "If your cook were not so heavyhanded, perhaps he would still have my help. As it is, he claims that he doesn't need me and so I see no reason to put up with his abuse when he can make his own slop by himself."

"Because they keep me busy when Lynnie is off doing something and they're fun. The children taught them to me." Flickering her rune for a moment. "They understand them, why can't you?" She bounced around the small space for a moment and then her rune flickered very quickly in a way that one might interpret as a giggle. "Kazzy made Bellah blush and she got real hot. But we don't make babies so we can't be a couple. I guess I love him the way you humans claim to do so. At least when he's not being a butthead." Xeke was so literal sometimes, much like Kaznec. "No, but she's worried. I don't like it too much, either. I keep waiting for her to have me contact Lord Lycear...."

the rock was duly caught in hand, and tossed on the deck.

"work does not end with single tasks. your duty, shyrae is to assist with the galley. he doesn't want to let you help cook, then serve food, or clean the area. and I'm pretty sure if someone had dumped out your special recipe, you'd been upset enough to slap someone. he just happened to have a spoon in his hand."

looking at the other one.

"The riggings on a ship need much more attention than you seem to think. they need constant looking to and care. those riggings support our sails, and thus our speed and ability to maneuver. I give out breaks on six hour shifts. and you haven't been working the rigging for six hours, have you."

glancing around.

"I cannot afford, anymore than the Captain, to have people get the impression that you are special, or that we are going soft. anymore than the commander of the guard can afford for those under his command to do the same, isn't that right, Caden?"

A look to Xeke and he raised an eyebrow for a moment. "I know that you are neither man or woman, I'm just saying the way you two speak to each other is like a couple fighting sometimes." A blink though at the blue ball's choice of words. "No we can, there are times though when people argue over things, though no it isn't apart of the procreation process Xeke." These little guys needed to spend some time around people other than dragons. Still a look to the other one as 'she' spoke and he raised another eyebrow and smiled. "Kaz made Jae blush eh?" A light chuckle as he gave a small nod to the floating ball. "I never meant to say you two were a couple really." Though he had to chuckle at her last statement about the other Seon, sometimes these little ones were good to have around.

A blink as he heard that dragon shouting something to him, when he looked up he saw the rock close to his head but at that moment Shyrae decided to move it away from him. Looking to the drow he smiled lightly. "Thanks Shyrae." He wasn't paying much attention to the first mate, he didn't see anything wrong with the elves being up here. Though when the first mate decided to drag him into it Caden sighed knowing how the answer was going to go, he couldn't lie now could he? "Yeah that's right." Damn his principles sometimes, even he liked to relax once in awhile on duty, as long as he wasn't caught or bugged for it.

"Humans...you all stick together." Shaking her head and slipping off the railing she headed off to work.

((Day Switch because I have plot to do...and have computer withdrawl. TV is simply not entertaining anymore.))

Gem frowned at their decrase in speed. Blast this salt...it turned soupy unlike how the sand grew firm for ships to break through. This just bogged them down. "Mister Robins, I need full sail if we're going to be getting anywhere today. And give me an extra watch up in the crow's nest...the day feels heavy."

Dhairiss stood on the deck of the ship, holding a hand out and catching water in it. He turned his eyes skyward, gold in his eyes flicking at the little bit of light from the gray cloud covered son. Rain...something he missed sometimes. Though he frowned at the feelings from his sister. She wasn't happy about the rain at all...she just hated water too much. A look out over the land, watching the salts turn think and kinda soupy, the smell of it much stronger in the air.

Indeed she was well...pissier than usual if that was possible. Rain, water in general did that to her. And the rest of the world was just going to have to deal with that. If they wanted her up there...well someone was going to have to drag her kicking and screaming up there...if they even had arms to do that with by the time she was done with them.

Jae raised her head off of Kaz's shoulder at the sound of rain falling on the deck above, not to mention the distinct strong blend of water and salt that flitted through the air. Ugh it was horrible...clogged her senses in a way. Giving a little yawn though she got herself up and changed her clothes, which she had put back on the previous night when the air had gotten cooler, and grabbed her satchel. Sitting down next to their corner, she duly pulled out her tools and started working.

Sky was quite happy in the air, prancing around on deck with wings splayed, often turning her head skyward with mouth open to catch rain on her tongue. Obvioulsy this was not something she was treated to regularly and she was having a grand time.

Rain. enjoyable, but aggravating out here. Hunter was keeping things running smoothly, mostly, without the problems from the elves. but his clothes were wet, and he was manning the helm, his usual helmsman was helping with the rigging. it was advised not to bother trying to get the blind elf up here. Desdemona was doing her task fine, and he knew she enjoyed the rain. just like the blue one apparently.

But the salty sludge was slowing them down, even at full sail.

Malik was below, packing what few things he had gathered. he'd be leaving today with his son, back home for him but at least some things had been patched up, and he at least got them out to 'sea' safe and sound. and he was only a letter or linkstone away. But once he got back home he was sure he'd hear about this from his wife. oh the grilling he was going to get.

Fang sat in his cabin, listening to the rain while he smoked his pipe, glancing up only to see his first mate come into his cabin and give a nod.

"Rain is slowing us down. but I imagine our quarry as well. shall I break out sweeps to get us up to speed, or carry on as we are?"

Fang took a few drags off his pipe, before nodding.

"Use the sweeps in hour intervals. I don't want to arrive too early, but not to late either. the chimera and the claw both have allies that may be able to enhance thier speed or adaptability."
