Novel of Tragedy Farferalloie Novel of Tragedy Farferalloie Novel of Tragedy Farferalloie I bought a transverse flute made out of bamboo today! 'Tis awesome sounding, though I really need to get a book of music and a case for it, which only cost three dollars each from the same place I purchased it from. Very decently priced to, 26 dollars for a key of C, it's the largest they make. Sweet! I think i'm buying a Brannen flute soon. I can't wait. That's like, the best of the best. So it's exciting. Supposedly the best, but also wicked expensive. If I were to buy a professional flute it would be a McKenna. Yeah, Brannens are really expensive which is the only not exciting part. I was going to wait until next year to get it, but I'm going to need a little while to break it in and get adjustments on it if I want them. Plus if I wait until next year I may not have it in time for college auditions. Yesterday my mom said we can go to the flute place and place orders on a bunch of them for me to try biggrin Awesome. Ya, shopping around is the best option, look before you spend several thousand dollars. xD So, do you know if you're getting any of the fancy extras? Split E mechanism or a high E facilitator? A gizmo key should be automatic, same with french pointed arms. Oh! And inline or offset G? I'm going to get the split E, and of course the gizmo and the french pointed arms. And I always go with offset G. Always. Coolness *jealous* XD I really wonder if the split E makes that much of a difference in the E of the third octave... Ah, I have an inline right now, but, hell, I'm getting this flute at a bargain price because it's been used two or three times before I came into possesion of it. Still plays like a charm, though.

I'm not exactly sure. But I do know a flute like that is always going to have a better sound. I just don't know if I'd be willing to give up the one I have right now for something like that(Even if I had the money). It's doing fine with the school band and I love it to death. When the time comes for a new flute, I'm still keeping my old one. So I can love it and hug and... Heh. sweatdrop

fatcheehcs do french pointed arms anything for sound, or is it mostly for durability? Nothing for sound, mostly cosmetic but supposedly it's more durable. Thanks for telling me the pic is broken. xP I'll fix it.

Huzzah for flutes! lack of huzzah for piccolos! even though I play both! Flute's are so much better. does anyone find that most of the color guard members in their marching band play flute during concert band? Of our 6 guard members, 5 have played flute/are playing flute and the sixth isn't in concert band. Is my band weird, or is that normal? I even did it last year to see what it was like, and also because they needed someone who could march and dance to helpt the noobs, so I was drafted into captain status, but now I'm happily flute section leader. Commeents?

Farferalloie http://www.oldflutes.com/im/fren.gif The blue arrows point to the french pointed arms. :3 Most intermediate and all beginner flutes have Y arm construction. Y arm: http://net.unl.edu/musicFeat/bach/images/flutekeys.jpg Ah. As in, Daniel's compared to mine. Eh...you wouldn't understand. Do you know why they're called arms???
