It was safe to say that Yula didn't like being hit by dark-type moves, and though the attack had really hurt, she recovered quickly and teleported away, quickly mixing herself up in all her clones once again. She was also feeling a little more angry every second of the battle, and she wondered why Riza had paired her up with the awful Corphish in the first place. Even though she was partial to the more positive emotions, like love and happiness and hope, she couldn't help but draw power from her anger towards Diemia. She and all her copies began to twirl on the spot, generating a current of electricity through them. Or rather, the real Kirlia generated electricity while her clones simply mimicked and copied her appearance and movements. With a sharp growl, the Kirlia and her clones all sent a powerful Thunderbolt streaking towards Diemia, who'd been too caught up in chasing down the next clone to realize what was going to happen until it was too late. Yula grinned when she heard the satisfying cries of Diemia shrieking in pain from the electricity as it shocked the daylights out of her. 'Serves her right!' the Kirlia thought, she and each of her clones giving a bow at the beautiful execution of their move.

Riza had glanced over a second time as Yula powered up a Thunderbolt, and all she could do was hope that Diemia remembered her Protect technique. She winced and frowned as the electricity hit home, looking back to Eris as she was now trying to create an Ember attack that would last long enough for her to grab a hold of it with her Extrasensory. "It's not the Ember that's the problem, Eris," Riza told her after her fifth failed attempt. "The Embers are fine, it's your Extrasensory that needs work. You have to tap into your psychic energy and draw it out quicker. It's a tricky move, but I'm sure you'll get it with time." Eris snorted in reply, but had to agree. She was a fire-type Pokemon after all, so it made perfect sense that her flames were well, perfect! Riza looked over at Faustus then, who was watching the two separate fights like he were watching a tennis match. Riza knelt down beside him and patted his head. "Are you ready to give this a try?" she asked the Dragon, and he replied with a gentle coo and a nod. He was a little scared, admittedly, especially from the powerful moves his teammates were throwing around, but he knew that with time he'd be able to compete with them, as well. He also wanted to be able to participate in these contests his new trainer spoke of, so he listened to her quite carefully as she explained how she would like him to combine his Twister attack with his Dragon Rage. Concentrating, the Dratini started off by focusing on a single point in front of him, a small grey rock that most people probably would have noticed (something he'd learned from Clair). Soon, a small spiral of wind began to form on that focal point and it quickly grew in size and power, yet the Dratini kept perfect control of it. "Nice Twister, Faustus!" Riza commented. "Now add the Dragon Rage." Faustus nodded and inhaled deeply before breathing out a small, thin stream of indigo coloured flames. They raced into the Twister and began to swirl and whirl around with it until the Twister had transformed into a large flaming indigo spiral. Small purple and blue sparks flared off it in all directions and it was gorgeous, but just looking at it Riza knew it wasn't enough.

Kilik nearly spat up the soda in his mouth upon hearing Keegan's mega belch. He swallowed hard and let out a laugh. "Good one," he said, setting the can down on top of the mini-fridge and leaning against the table with his arms crossed. Keegan was pretty cool and collected about the whole situation. "I'm not too worried," he said, tapping his left foot against his right heel. "Mike and I have done something similar before. We crashed the Team Aqua base to rescue Sasha." He cleared his throat and shifted slightly. "Though that was just a rescue mission. Never thought I'd be part of taking down an entire organization."

Keegan's rhetorical question made Kilik laugh a bit and he shrugged. They were going to be in for a lot of trouble, that's for sure. "I think," he said to break the momentary silence, "that between us, Team Magma won't stand a chance. If we can defend ourselves against Team Rocket as a group, I think we'll be alright against Team Magma. We've all gotten stronger since Slateport." At least, he'd assumed so. It felt like that's all he had done since then - constant training. Battling this trainer and that, making his Pokemon train amongst themselves...It was the best thing he could do. Something to better himself, and strengthen his bond with his Pokemon. Kilik picked up his can and gulped down the rest of his soda, crushing the empty can in his fist and tossing it into the trash.

"That'll be Maxie's head if Mike gets out of hand," he said quietly.

Giovanni crossed his arms as he watched his scientists begin to show him the progress they'd made on the mechanical components of his newest project. "Flip the switch," he said simply. One scientist nodded and pulled a lever. Inside a green compartment, Shocker, who was trying to nap, was given a rude wake up call and forced to power the machine in a room beyond them. The robotic arms and legs of the contraption began to move very sluggishly and jaggedly, like something loading on a bad connection. A gem in the chest plate began to glow in response to the energy that Shocker was providing. "Yes...Yes!!" Giovanni cheered.

Shocker fell over inside the tube, panting heavily. She couldn't give anymore. Giovanni's eyes widened as he watched his glorious machine fall apart and completely shut down inside the room. "You worthless rat!" he roared, slamming his fist on top of the tube she was encased in. She cowered before the man, shaking inside. He growled and took a step back. "We've run this rat dry," he said to his team, "Postpone this project until she is at maximum strength. We'll give her the night to rest up." Even such a powerful Raichu such as Shocker had her limits. The electric mouse gave what seemed like a smile and immediately fell asleep inside the case.

"So I must wait until tomorrow to see my machine in action," he said to himself. Mai had already accomplished setting up a base in Sinnoh, and he owned two of the Relics. With Leo looking for the third one at the moment, he was starting to feel invincible; feeling as if someone had finally dealt him a winning hand. Though he had countless other Pokemon to run the machine at the moment, Giovanni wanted to see how it would be using Shocker. She was much stronger than all of the Electric Pokemon that he owned. Perhaps in the morning he would attempt to run it with, not only Shocker, but the rest of his Electric collection as well...

It was true, that Jun had noticed Olsen's perplexity when it came to the secret about human hair, while he seemed a natural with Pokemon's vines/furs/etc. The Tangela was too earthy for the likes of human hair, which needed to be treated with ungodly amounts of chemicals and hairsprays; but he understood that natural and healthy was best for Pokemon.

So essentially, Jun thought to himself, distancing himself from the battle for the moment, besides the marvelous me, who can do everything, I've got Demi who's talented with human hair and isn't too shabby with makeup, Posh whose designs are killer (though I bet she'd be great with makeup too, her palettes are quite wonderful -- maybe she oughta take that over that field, when she's not working on her lines?), and Olsen, who's great at grooming. Unfortunately, this also meant that Olsen had no direction, and he wasn't much of a battler, unlike Posh and Demi. The poor Tangela was currently running away from a charging Grotle as if its life depended on it; surely it would seem so, for with each bound the Grotle made, the ground reverberated beneath it. The Grove Pokemon roared with laughter. Roy sighed. His Grotle was a bit of a bully in situations where he was clearly ahead.

"Ah, yes! Olsen! Sorry my friend, I was a bit distracted," Jun announced. The Tangela didn't have time to stop and acknowledge Jun's apology. The poor thing was terrified. "Looks like a great cardio workout, though..." Jun trailed off, about to get lost in thought again, when Olsen positively bounced fifty feet in the air when the Grotle headbutted him into the sky. This new master of his! Olsen thought to himself, tears flowing from his eyes. No wonder Demi had warned that he was utterly irresponsible! Prone to outrageous ideas and at the same thoughtlessness!

Jun noted the sobbing Tangela falling, and hurriedly checked the Pokedex that Roy had given him. "Use your vines, Olsen! We both know you've got plenty of volume in there, use some to cushion yourself and, I don't know, Vine Whip that Grotle!"

Surely enough, Olsen's notorious volume came in handy, here. He would never curse it again! The Grotle found himself victim of about fifteen vines flailing about him, while the Tangela safely landed about ten feet away. Who was laughing now, huh?!

"I don't understand. You didn't know Mirrikh was in Sinnoh?" Markus asked, stopping his bike in front of hers. His Grovyle also stopped, watching the Growlithe carefully.
"I really haven't spoken with my brother since he left. I mean, we write letters but we haven't spoken face to face." She sighed; this was the first time she heard about her brother in nearly two months. "Is he okay?"

"Mirrikh's fine, but...he changed his name. You're the only one to still call him Mirrikh other than me. He's known as Russell in Sinnoh." Markus was starting to feel bad for the young girl, like it was his baby sister.

"Russell? But, why?" Her Growlithe rubbed against her leg carefully and caringly. "Why would he change who he is? His name is dignified."

"He didn't like his old life. Changing his name is a way to change his life. He's doing very well in Canalave City and is starting his own adventure very soon." He smiled, but his Grovyle moved closer to the Growlithe. "Vine, behave."

"The nearest ferry is here in Vermillion. I mean, fifty bucks is fifty bucks. I can afford to take a ferry to Sinnoh, but would Mirrikh want to see me? I mean, it's been five years since we've seen each other and...we haven't talked for about six months." She bit her lip in consideration.

"He'll be okay with seeing you. I bet he misses you. Let's go down to the port and get you out of Kanto. If you want, that is." Markus didn't really want company, but he wanted to reunite this family.

"I...I don't know. I mean, seeing Mirrikh would be a dream come true, but I don't know if starting somewhere else is a good idea." She looked at her partner and hoped to find an answer with him. He looked back at her, his eyes saying It's up to you boss. I'll go where you go.

"The choice is yours and yours alone. I'm going to Sinnoh and to Canalave. Whether you follow me or not is your choice, but Russ won't come back to Kanto ever again. He doesn't want to come back. So, this may be your only chance to see him for a while."

Ryka and Iris had found themselves wandering north of Cerulean City, past the long suspension bridge. It seemed like Coordinators were sprawling all over the city - some looked especially powerful, but for the most part, it seemed to be mostly beginners. It seemed that all the coordinators had decided to find fields to practice on, for Ryka and Iris had a difficult time finding a place to work. Going north, however, they were able to find peace and quiet, for there were many trainers hanging about instead.

In a flash of red light, Blitz was out of his pokeball and on Ryka's shoulder. He happily nuzzled against her cheek with his. "Awww, my dear Blitz, I missed you too." She pulled him into a hug, and then set him on the ground in front of her. Iris obediently sat next to the Pikachu, giving his head a pat with her paw. Ryka smiled down at her two oldest Pokemon, who seemed genuinely happy to see each other again after such a long time apart.

As her two Pokemon got reacquainted, Ryka noticed that Blitz had been shivering quite a bit. Pulling out her backpack, she shifted through all of her belongings until she found what she was looking for - a purple Focus Sash. "Here, Blitz, this should help you keep warm..." Ryka said as she bent down to tie the scarf-sash around the Pikachu's neck. "There!" Blitz ran around in circles a few times, checking how the scarf felt. The way it flew behind him when he ran..he felt like a ninja! Ninjas were awesome. A smug look of satisfaction glowed on his face.

"Okay, now we must get down to business. Blitz, we're going to enter a Pokemon contest today." His ears perked up. What? he thought, a bit angrily, No battling? Aren't contests about prissy Pokemon dressing up and trying to be pretty? That's really stupid! He tried to voice his thoughts by looking up at Ryka, giving an audible groan of resentment.

"Don't you worry, dear. I know that you're a battler. That's why I've decided that you should participate in the battle round. Or, rounds. Remember that battle that I had you all watch earlier?" Blitz gave a nod, less angrily. "We want to be able to battle like that. Beautifully. Gracefully. With style. But still with the power that I know you have in there." To emphasize her words, Ryka bent down and poked Blitz in the stomach with her index finger, eliciting laughter from the receiver.

"I'll bet you didn't know there was a battle round, did you? Well, we're going to practice a bit now, okay? Iris here is going to be performing in the appeal round. So I'll have to work with her alone first. But I'm sure you need a bit of time out of that pokeballs, don't you?" Ryka grinned and picked up the Pikachu, who yawned a bit. "I've really missed you, Blitz. We're glad to have you back."

"Haha, tired. . .yeah, I suppose I am. But I'll be fine," Mitsu smiled at the pink haired girl. It was a poor attempt at a smile. Truth be told, she had mixed feelings about her. She was loud but had good intentions. Mitsu also couldn't tell if Sasha liked her or not, though she had the feeling that the girl hadn't been too friendly to her as of late. It was the damn beach party. Giovanni was right, all of their existing relationships were all screwed, changed in some way. Altered. She had confirmed with him that they could trust no one but themselves, and in that she felt that there was some truth. . .but then again here they were teaming up to take down an evil organization. That definitely required some trust. They were either all great friends despite all the turmoil, or they were stubborn and stupid. Maybe it was both.

Mitsu's clutch on her forehead hadn't moved since she clasped her fingers around her head. Not even when she spoke to Sasha. In fact, she tightened her grip, her head pounding even harder than before. Stupid headaches. "We should get to bed," she managed to squeak, still hoping she'd get away scott-free. Sleeping, though, did sound nice despite the constant nightmares.

----------==========-----------

There wasn't much Mia could do without seeing her Pokemon, or her opponents. "Jello, go ahead and get in the tunnels too!" she shouted, figuring at least down there they'd be safe from the sandstorm above. "Be ready to strike when it gets close!"

The Tangela nodded, jumping into the hole closest to her. She wasn't sure what kind of havoc that Rock Pokemon could wreak, but she was going to be sure to give him a good slapping with her Vine Whip when given the chance!

Unlike Katie, Gardenia stood out in the open rain. She loved the feeling of the water sliding down her body, soaking her hair with nature's tears. The rain itself was starting to pour harder than ever, a torrential downpour, yes it was!

Roserade herself was surprised that the Staravia's wings weren't completely soaked with water. The bird still seemed just as fast, though that could just be an illusion due to the Double Team, not that it mattered after Gardenia issued her next order: a Magical Leaf.

Of course the Grass Leader was brilliant! Despite the attack being not very effective, it couldn't miss, making the Double Team virtually useless. The Bouquet Pokemon raised her flowered arms again, summoning leaves from the forest around her, causing them to glow several different colors of the rainbow. They sparkled with the raindrops that continued to fall from the sky before soaring at Noa, the real Noa.

The Dragon Rage/Twister petered out slowly as Faustus lost his hold of it, and the Dratini took a deep breath and looked over at Eris, who was staring at him in awe. The Quilava couldn't understand why it was so easy for him to use two attacks at the same time, and she pawed the ground in annoyance for a moment before she turned away. She took a deep breath and focused on her psychic powers, wishing they came to her as easily as her fire-type attacks did. Her whole body glowed with a blue and violet hue and she pushed the energy outward, creating a small force that acted almost like wind. The mental exertion left her mind feeling tingly, but now she was more determined than ever to tap into these powers. Faustus watched the Quilava with a twinkle in his eye and he cooed softly to cheer her on. He looked back at Riza, who was still thinking about what they could do with Faustus' move combinations, because a flashy indigo tornado wasn't really showing of the Dratini. 'There's got to be a way to finish it,' the raven haired girl thought, looking over at Akima and Plua, the latter of whom was screeching and squawking something awful. Not surprisingly, the Sneasel had really managed to anger the Fearow and Riza laughed a bit. Good old Akima was never one to disappoint.

The Corphish, meanwhile had slumped to the ground after the Thunderbolt had run its course, her limbs twitching ever so slightly as the leftover electricity crackled noisily. Diemia couldn't remember ever feeling this kind of pain in her entire life. Still growling, she clambered to her feet, rage coursing through her. How dare that little upstart make a fool out of her! The Corphish slammed her pincers on the ground, ignoring the pain that shot through her arms. She slammed them again and again, feeling her energy start to build up until it was white-hot beneath her shell. She was moving forward now, unaware of the fact that she was now growing much larger. In fact, the only clue she had at all that something was happening was the fact that Yula's eyes had grown wide with fear, though the crab figured that it was because she was right to fear her wrath! Diemia raised her claws high in the air once again as she descended upon the Kirlia, opening her mouth and letting out a mighty "Craaaaaww!" as she did so. It wasn't until she'd brought her claws down in a heavy sweep, scoring a solid hit against the now-smaller Kirlia that she realized she'd changed, and Diemia stopped to look down at herself. Her claws were huge, much bigger than before, and her legs felt stronger and more powerful as well. She had a massive tail too, and she smiled as best a Crawdaunt could and bashed her claws on the ground again. She still wasn't sure what had happened to her, but she liked it!

Eztli nearly panicked when she saw Mix and his kidnapper striding towards her very casually. Had she been caught? Had she been found out? She considered bolting for safety, but that would reveal her guilt much too obviously, so she instead ignored them until they were standing right next to where she had stopped to sit on a bench.

"Well hello there," the red-haired man said, smiling brightly, turning on the pleasant charm. Eztli was still creeped out by his white, soulless eyes. Still, she kept her face plastered with a naive smile, nice but wary.

"Hi there!" she said, using a voice much too sugary sweet for her own likes. "Can I help you?"

"Well that depends...What's your name?"

"Alixandra Harris," Eztli responded immediately, "Why?"

"Well, Miss Alixandra, I've noticed you have been following us for a few blocks. What caught your eye?"

"Oh, you did see me?" Eztli felt a rising fear. "I'm so sorry," she forced herself to blush embarassingly, "I just...I saw you across the way. You looked so handsome, I wanted to, you know, ask you somewhere. But I'm just too shy." Eztli looked down, her fake smile staying in place. "But now that you've caught me..." Eztli forced herself to gaze into the man's eyes, those cold, dead eyes, "Would you mind terribly if we...got lunch together? It is lunchtime right?" The man smiled toothily, wolfishly.

"Of course. Your accent tells me you aren't from around here. Where are you from?"

"V-Violet City," Eztli stammered, saying the first city that came to mind that wasn't Azalea or Fuschia.

"Ah, a Johto girl. You are far away from home aren't you? Come, let's go for lunch. By the way, my name is Kai. This here is my...friend Mixcoatl." Mixcoatl, who had hung back, nodded in response. Could this man seriously be so dense as to not recognize the girl he had taken hostage? Maybe all his victims just blended together. He knew some agents that were like that. Not Mix, he remembered every agonizing detail of all his missions. He kept a wary eye on his sister, who was playing the part of a lovestruck teenage girl surprisingly well. He was shocked to see that she had cut and colored her hair, she had always protested the use of such chemical dyes.

'She must have an inkling of the dangers she faces,' he thought to himself. That, however, begged the question of why she had come here in the first place. Eztli herself didn't know the answer. She was led away by Kai to a tiny restaurant by the canal. It didn't have any patrons inside, and Eztli was fearful that she would suddenly disappear and no one would notice. She quickly realized that she was digging an elaborate and deep hole for herself, and she needed to somehow get out. Just as she was turning to tell Kai that she was sorry, but she had some previous engagement, he led her through a back door into a stainless steel cell. An elevator, in reality, though it moved so quietly Eztli couldn't tell. She turned around and faced Kai.

"H-Hey what's going on here?" she asked, in a bubbly, yet frightened voice. The bubblyness required a lot of acting, but the fear took no effort. She backed away from Kai and Mixcoatl, her hands held up in protest. Kai smirked in response.

"Eztli, Eztli, Eztli," he said in a singsong tone. Mixcoatl's heart sank. This guy was smarter then Mix gave him credit for. But then why was Eztli still alive, and even more, why was she in the back entrance to Doulos' HQ? "You thought I wouldn't recognize you? A pretty girl like yourself? Sure, the brown, short hair threw me for a loop for a few minutes. But those eyes...Yes, your sparkling, fiery eyes are what gave you away." Eztli shivered. "But I have to say, I was impressed. You melded into a completely new person fairly quickly. You show definite potential, and I'm sure the Boss would agree. Which is why you are here. You are going to see the Boss, and if he allows, take the Aptitude Test. If you pass, you are allowed to join Doulos. If you fail, or if you refuse, you will die." The elevator stopped, and the doors slid open smoothly. Kai motioned. "Come now, there is no need for your facade anymore. Let the Boss see the true you. If you have half the potential Mixcoatl had, you will be recruited for sure."

It was Yula's turn to weakly pull herself to her feet, her head reeling from the painful strike she'd just received from Diemia's claws. Blinking slowly, the Kirlia wasn't sure if the Corphish had in fact gotten bigger, or if it was just her head swimming, a little punch drunk from all the hits it had taken, making it appear that she had. Yula steadied herself on her feet and narrowed her eyes. Yup, Diemia had definitely gotten bigger, and undoubtedly more powerful, at that. Her whole body was shaking, and the Kirlia's eyes went wide when she realized that it was rage that was causing her to shake. Not her own anger, as she wasn't even sure she knew how to get that angry in the first place, but Diemia's. She was attuned to the now-Crawdaunt's anger and rage, and she could feel it fueling her body, as well. Tears of frustration welled up in her eyes, and without thinking she thrust her arms forward, launching a Confusion directly into Diemia's chest. She gasped when it did nothing but make the Crawdaunt smirk and start to come after her again, and she barely missed having her whole body crushed by a mammoth swing of those claws and a Knock Off attack, though Yula thought for sure it should be called "Knock Out." She summoned up her energy again, this time sending out a much more powerful wave of psychic energy, though again it did nothing but entice the lobster even further. More tears fell now, as the Kirlia's frustration began to build up even more. How could she protect Riza and the others from harm if she couldn't even stand up to this overgrown lobster? She teleported away this time, landing on the complete opposite side of Diemia. It was now her turn to feel an overwhelming buildup of energy, as her desire to protect her friends was suddenly stronger than the rage felt by the Crawdaunt.

Diemia's sudden (and provoked) evolution had stopped Riza and all the other Pokemon in their tracks as they'd all turned to stare at the newly-evolved Crawdaunt in awe. Riza had fumbled for her Pokedex but had been unable to hold it tightly, and now she and the other Pokemon watched as a bright light now encompassed the much smaller Kirlia, glowing brighter than any light Riza had ever seen before. When it faded, she was surprised to see nothing standing in Yula's place, but a sudden loud crackling of electricity could then be heard, and all eyes turned in time to see a Thunderbolt arc towards Diemia from behind, giving her easily what was the zap of her life, and the Crawdaunt fell heavily to the ground, unconscious. Yula, now a fully evolved Gardevoir, had teleported behind her foe to launch her attack, and now that she'd come out of the fight victorious, she turned to face her trainer. She was only able to give a slight bow before she too fell to the ground, having expended an incredible amount of energy.

'Just as I expected,' Katie thought, though her expression was one of slight shock, as though she were surprised by the move. Her own Roselia knew how to use Magical Leaf so she had expected it to be known to the Roserade as well. She also wasn't worried about it being overly damaging, as she was sure Noa could easily take a few more hits before she'd have to call it quits, it was more about passing time and scouting out as many of Roserade's attacks as possible. If they could get through the majority of the Rain Dance, Genki could easily roast that Roserade before she could even get a chance to summon another one.

Noa and all her clones swooped and dived, staying relatively together even as the Magical Leaf closed in on them. Noa clicked her beak and ignored the leaves as they cut into her, instead glaring down at the Roserade as she continued to fly. Katie called for a Quick Attack, though she wouldn't mind terribly if Roserade spent this turn evading it. The Staravia's clones all flew back in to meet her before they spread out, once again identical as they sped towards the Bouquet Pokemon, more determined than ever.

Amy felt the tears dry on her cheeks as she reached the PokeCenter's counter, gently placing the two Pokeballs on the surface. She sniffled, and the nurse was thankfully tactful enough to not say anything.

She had spent about five minutes crying in someplace where she thought she was hidden, and now she had gotten the will-power to move. She had something to say to her team. The girl remained right at the counter while waiting, murmured a thank you, and walked out.

Amy continued her way through Cerulean, trying to find a nice little spot. And she had found one, a little park secluded from the hustle and bustle. She sat down and released the fully healed Marshall and Flora.

"I am so sorry," Amy began softly, hugging her knees as she sat on the grass. Her Pokemon made no response. "I let you down today... I froze up in battle. But Riza's right. I have to learn the basics of being a trainer. So I have to keep practicing." She paused, but again, none of them responded. "I don't know if I'll get better... but I want to try."

"I guess I'm asking for you to forgive me," she admitted, smiling a little. "and for you to bear with me... We'll keep doing contests, but we need to start battling so we can... practice." She took a deep breath and looked straight at her team. "Are you with me, no matter what?"

Marshall remained impassive for a moment, his head gradually tilting to the right. Finally, he donned his largest grin yet and let out a gleeful "Woopah!"

Flora frowned, staring up at the sky for an answer. She remained undecided even after Marshall's affirmation, and seemed to ignore the fearful look on Amy's face. Finally, the Chikorita looked straight into the girl's blue eyes and did nothing.

And then she began to glow.

"Flora?" Amy asked, blinking. The Chikorita's silhouette grew and grew, and finally, with a twist of her head, the glow shattered. Flora now stood before Amy, a full-grown Bayleef.

"Bay!" Flora cheered, nudging Amy with her head. She offered the girl her widest grin, and the message seemed clear: Flora was, without a doubt, with Amy one hundred percent.

“Okay everyone, we’re almost to the drop zone.” Moti noted as the crew was strapping on their parachutes. “According to our data, you’ll want to pull the chute after about a minute. Any longer and you’ll be in for a rough landing. You can steer by pulling on the left or right cord although it isn’t the most precise.”

“Sir!” The pilot shouted suddenly, “There seems to be a flock of Spearow and Fearow flying this way.” Moti looked over to the left side, and sure enough, the birds were right in the drop zone. The larger Fearow began to change course aiming for the now stationary helicopter.

“Okay, change of plans everyone!” Moti shouted as he opened the side door. “We go now and hope to high heaven that those birds don’t catch us while we fall!”

Rajasi nodded and quickly dove out of the copter. “Things are never as simple as they seem are they?” Claire chuckled. Truth be told, she was nervous enough about skydiving from the plane without some angry, territorial birds chasing her as she tried to land for her first time.

”Afraid not, my dear. Now, off you go!” Moti said cheerfully as she shoved the poor girl off the edge of the chopper. He looked over to the pilot noting the goggles on a rack. “Oops, look like I forgot to give our friends their gear. Oh well!” he grabbed a pair for himself and stood at the threshold of the copter door. "Try to draw the birds away Mr. Pilot.” Moti added as he too, took his first dive from a helicopter.

Claire squinted against the wind, her eyes tearing at the pressure. She made out Rajasi below her a few feet and tried to angle somewhat closer to him. After a few more seconds the two were somewhat level and nodded at one another. In a moment both had pulled their chutes and were gracefully falling toward the grassy fields west of Cerulean City. Claire took a moment to check the flock of Fearow now that her eyes were adjusted to the slower air speed. It appeared that most had gone after the helicopter but one was quickly approaching the still freefalling Moti.

Moti glanced to his left, about fifty meters diagonally upward a Fearow was closing in. ’Well, that’s just greeeaaaat. Looks like my team is safe though.’ The trainer thought to himself as he saw the other two floating much further away. Deciding that he couldn’t outrun a Fearow, his best bet was to pull his parachute and hope one of his pokemon could fend it off. Worst came to worst, Yang could psychically levitate them down the remaining two or three hundred feet… yeah right. 'It would be nice to be a flying type trainer right about now.'

“Here goes nothing!” Moti shouted to himself as he pulled the chute and began to slow down. He quickly pulled out Yang’s Pokeball and released the psychic Eevee a few inches away from himself, grabbing the slightly confused feline when she was solid and holding her close to his chest.

’This is new.’ The Sun Pokemon mewed.

’I’ll explain later, please restrain that Fearow if it attacks us once it catches up.’ Moti thought-spoke to his pokemon. She nodded in affirmation awaiting the fast encoming bird. When it saw that it’s prey had slowed down, the Fearow also slowed it’s descent and was soon flying in a wide arc around the parachute, plotting the best way to attack the aerial invaders. With a loud cry it charged in for a peck attack on the strange white mass that made up the parachute.

"You forgot to set it on fire," Keegan said, quite serious as he motioned towards the trash can, deciding not to mention what would happen to the man if the redhead was to get a hold of Maxie first. He wanted nothing more than simple revenge, as Keegan didn't really have anything to atone for, other than not standing by his friend and trying to do more to stop him. He grit his teeth and flopped back on the bed, his dangling legs swinging back and forth slightly in anticipation. There were times he wished he hadn't outright refused Maxie's offer to join Team Magma. Maybe then he could have had a chance to talk to Mike, figure out how the Magma boss had gotten to him and put an end to the whole plot before it even started. But then again, would it have made a difference? Mike hadn't listened to him then, when Keegan had told him that Team Magma was nothing but bad news, would he have bothered to listen later, just days or hours before the awakening of Groudon and Kyogre? Keegan really didn't think so, as by that point he was sure his friend was too far gone; lost in and consumed by his mission.

His pulse was racing, and for a moment he could only hear the sound of his own blood pounding through his veins. He was still certain he wouldn't be able to sleep, but he wasn't sure what else he could do. He remembered that Cinnabar also was home to some very nice hot springs, but he knew there was no way he could sit around relaxing, not with his mind buzzing like this. He propped himself up on his elbows. "I'm gonna go have a shower," he announced, though it was unlikely that the younger boy really cared. He stood up and grabbed a few things from his backpack, holding back a groan of pain as his ribs harshly protested the movement. "And uh, would you mind keeping an eye on Themis? It's not like he's gonna go anywhere, but you never know with that one."

Kilik kept his eye on Keegan as he fell back onto the bed. He could tell there was a lot going through his mind. After all, this was Lavaridge. It was just as much his home as it was Mike's. And considering what had happened to Mike, Kilik was very certain that Keegan wanted to get his share of taking out Maxie. "Sure," he said, looking at Themis as the red head disappeared into the bathroom for his shower.

Themis was sound asleep, which gave Kilik very little to do. He sat down on the edge of the bed and took all six of his Pokeballs from his bag and held them in his hands. What if one of his Pokemon got hurt to a point of death? He didn't want to have to go to Mt. Pyre after this mission. Not if he could avoid it. He was certain that none of his Pokemon would get hurt that much. After all, he was a strong trainer and he had powerful Pokemon at his disposal. He was glad that he decided against bringing Treecko, Chimchar, and Drifloon along with him. It would have severely weakened him and his ability to attack Team Magma straight on. Even Cable, who was quickly rising to be his strongest Pokemon, wasn't quite at the same level as his other five Pokemon. He was getting there, though.

He looked up at the other bed at Themis, admiring the Manectric. Kilik had grown a special fondness to Electric-types thanks to Cable, but he couldn't see himself using any other Electric Pokemon. He put the Pokeballs back in his bag and headed towards the window, looking out at Cinnabar. It was lit up with lights from all the other hotels and buildings. Yet in the corner of the island, there was a large black hole. The abandoned Mansion, Kilik thought to himself. That's where I managed to catch Weezing. Has it really been that long since I've come here? He yawned a bit, though he wasn't exactly tired.

This was going to be a long night.

Watching Jaeshan look up the weaknesses on the pokedex Robin couldn't help but be a little surprised. She had no idea you could do that! That would certainly be useful for the future. Until now she had either been following the obvious or just guessing on what attacks sounded cool. "You can probably get some practice against rock type pokemon in the cave were gunna go through." Robin mentioned as they stepped out from Jubilife city and onto Route 203. "It's not a very long route though, so unless we run into a battle we can be there pretty quickly."

Black*Star who had been traveling alongside Robin until the route had now taken to running ahead of them and posing on various objects so that people would pay attention to him. The energetic Totodile was certainly gathering a lot of attention from various pokemon and a few early morning trainers. Of course everywhere the Totodile went he was leaving big signatures of his name either in the ground, by cutting the grass, or after one particular incident carved on a rock with the ample use of Dragon Dance and his Scratch attack. Either way where ever Black*Star went he was sure to make sure everyone else knew he was there.

So they were going down into the tunnels to. Well, they would be out of the sand but they also had no idea where they were going. For them there were only two ways out and that would just make it more interesting. "Cranidos they are in the tunnels with you." Roark called out as a warning to his pokemon.

Inside the tunnels Cranidos just snorted quietly, all sound would be echoed in here and he had to be quiet. That was fine he could be quiet if he needed to be. Now that he knew where the other pokemon was though Cranidos quickly left the tunnel entrance on his side of the field and dashed swiftly to the other one the Onix had exited that the Tangela had jumped into. He had to be careful and not out for to long, that powder was still out there. It was time for more guerrilla warfare tactics, or course thats how his pack had hunted back in ancient times so it wasn't to difficult for him. It wasn't hard to spot the Tangela since it was still in the dim light and near the entrance. Lowering his head Cranidos gave a little smirk as he charged forward in a Headbutt attack, he was going to have to make a quick dash into the tunnels after this though, no need to get hit by that pokemon.

Carlos nodded as he adjusted his Sombrero, looking at his pokemon who were now finishing up their meal. "I agree Mr. Maz, we should be on our way soon if we wish to make it to Cerulean without having to stop for the night again. You guys just about done here?" He said looking from one pokemon to the other, and all three of them nodded as they pushed forward empty cans of pokemon food. "Very well then." Standing up he grinned, his own tray of food surprisingly clean considering how much he'd taken, and looked at Train. "I can see you aren't the only one curious about my pokemon. Mr. Maz doesn't appear to recognize Javier either." Talking over to his pokemon Carlos scooped up Maria, who chirped happily as she flapped her cottony white wings. "This is Maria, my Swablu. She's native to the Hoenn region as are some of Mr. Maz's pokemon. She's a flying type now but when she evolves she'll also be a dragon type." Recalling Maria to her pokeball Carlos pointed at Javier who was found this a perfect time start playing a tune. "And this is Javier, my Kricketune. He is the evolved form a a Kricketot, both pokemon are native to the Sinnoh region. He's a bug type, and one heck of a fiddler." With a chuckle Carlos recalled Javier to his ball, then Julio who was staring off into space. "And you both know Julio by now, another Hoenn native. He's a grass water type. Any further questions? Let's go then!"

What time was it? How long had he been up? More importantly, how much sleep had he gotten? As the sunlight flooded into the room and fell over Crenu's eyes he awoke, the first thing he noticed was how much left hand was hurting. As he sat up he looked at it, he couldn't help but notice the small pool of blood that had soaked into the sheets where his hand had rested as he slept. His bandaged hand was completely soaked, the white bandages dyed crimson and sopping wet. "Damn..." Most of the cuts on his hand from the shattered mirror weren't that deep, but there were a lot of them all over his hand. And shallow cuts or not if they kept bleeding through the night then of course his bandages wouldn't be useless. Crenu tried to get up but felt terribly light headed, most likely from the blood loss, and fell back onto the bed. This was troublesome indeed.

"I see you've gotten hurt again. And again." Said a voice from the unlit bathroom. "I take it this mirror was your doing. You gonna pay for the damages or are you just gonna leave without saying anything?" The voice was not as cheerful or light as normal, no this time it was somber and a little angry.

"...Pokemon centers are well funded. Otherwise they wouldn't be able to give trainers care lodging and even food without charging them a dime. New sheets and a mirror aren't gonna set them back very far I'm sure." Shiro mustered up all his strength and managed to fight off his wooziness long enough to get up and look out of his window. Putting a cigarette to his mouth and lighting it all with his non bleeding hand, he took in a deep drag as he tried to hide the pain that came from moving his badly burned hand. "When did you get here Ken? Finally finished your errands?" He said noting that the window was unlocked and slightly ajar. He was foolish to have let that slip last night.

Ken simply shoot his head as he stepped out of the bathroom into the main room where he looked at Crenu arms crossed and very disappointed. "You know there's no smoking in here right? What am I saying, of course you do. Shiro what the hell is going on with you? You've always been apathetic but never careless. Just what was going through your mind when you broke this mirror? And did you even treat your wounds?" He said angrily as he eyed Crenu's bloody left hand, blood starting to drip into the floor. "And while we're at it why don't you explain just why your other hand is bandaged up too? Was it just for kicks or something!? What next you gonna mess up your right arm too and bandage it for symmetry? Explain yourself now Shiro. Please."
