Surrounding the area was the massive serpent of blood, its form continuously circling the area. In the base of its head, hidden by the shells of blood was Kotsueki's undead body, suspended by veins of blood that speared into his open wounds. Several spouts opened at the snakes side, each distanced from each other, as each of them shot more spears of hardened blood from the serpents body, heading once more for Reinsin, each similar to the first strike, as the tip widened and flattened into a blade.
--
As kegawa gazed at Reinsin he slowly placed a hand at the trunk of the tree his was on, the symbols upon his arm lightling up dimly, his hand slowly being pulled into the tree as the bark came to life and accepted the entry. Roots would suddenly shoot from the ground and the tree from most directions reaching to bind Reinsin.

"pssft, a small man makes a small threat... neither my people nor I fear death.... and we most certainly won't be subjugated to a weak willed man such as yourself Reinsen.... heh heh heh... you play with fire.... and you will get burned..."
Standing up straight and looking into the eyes of the ruler Sin smiled as the darkness behind his eyes began to glow lightly with a crimson orange hue. His bunt arm cracked and the burned scar along his eye slowly pulsed as if fire was getting ready to seep out from the wound.

"You will pay for this impudence!" Reinsen exclaimed as his form suddenly burst into black flames laced with crimson hues only moments before the prior launched attacks reached his position. Outwards, the fire spiraled, catching hold of the trees and underbrush until the immediate area was alit. Leaving no option of escape for any of those gathered there.
Finally the shadows that clung to the ground, swamed together like pools of the darkest ink...forming together back into the Larovian ruler.
"Perish." Reinsen uttered before he launched himself forward, drawing a long ornate knife with his now injured left hand to join the katana that his right hand held. Though in mid air as he hurtled towards the group, Reinsen's form suddenly dissipated into the air with a rush of chill air.
Though before he could reappear Issildia was already moving, the heightened senses granted by Kojin's efforts immediately tracked Reinsen's presence as he changed positions. Moving faster than she herself would have deemed possible, Issildia moved in to intercept Reinsen's now corporeal form as he appeared within striking distance of Sin's back. There was a bitter clash of blades as Issildia countered Reinsen with her sword, now precociously positioned between Reinsen and Sin.
Discreetly Issildia looked out of the corner of her eye toward Sin in unspoken consent. This was not only her battle anymore, it seemed that they all had their reasons for engaging in this duel. Suddenly Issildia threw Reinsen's blade off and spun back, dropping to a knee to remove herself from the path of whatever Sin had prepared to unleash on Reinsen.

[(((Jan sweatdrop Do calm it down just a touch. I doubt I have to give you the speech about antagonistic NPCs again and godmodding against them. Now I wanted this to be used as a chance to do a bit of character development for Sin, but what you have done is a little to extreme and sudden. All the other characters are taking hits and displaying a struggle in this final battle with Reinsen. There was also a nice effect of unity and coming together that I was rather proud to see as an evolution in everyone's writing. Being able to fight as a unit and attempting to predict the next person's attack to work with the moves of others is a difficult thing to do effectively, and we were doing rather well I might add.
But I am going to have to ask you to revise those last couple of posts. If you want to try this again, then do it at another time after you have constructed a traceable line in the plot to display the reasons behind Sin's actions. I am quite fine with you going a little crazy in this final battle with Reinsen. But if you want to stage a literal character evolution then you need continuously weave numerous hints into the plot to reach your character's figurative climax. For example, throughout the entire duration of this RP, my character has always reflected upon her past and the reasoning behind her actions. And through a very long line of changes in perspective she is finally given a true chance to accomplish what she once believed to be an act of revenge. But I can assure you that revenge is no longer the primary reason that Issildia is fighting Reinsen. All the things that she has experienced...and all the things that have ever been said to her by any character, including yours Jan...have brought about a change in her persona.
That is the beauty of character development. whee
I wanted this to be a chance for Sin to perhaps change in his perspective or perhaps learn something new, not to become fire incarnate. Literal character evolution will take place for all the players in this story, but to gain strength first you must overcome an obstacle that is deemed an action worthy of regard. )))

((Yeah point but the only problem is that I did make several comments about Sin not being able to take part in the battle and then to have Reinsen suddenly appare and start fighting him pushed my hand a bit becouse if he was to fight Reinsen then there would have been no way he could have survived. Although I do agree this whole 'fire thing' was a bit eairly and I would have perferred to at least make a few more refernces to it before it came down but like I said Sin wasn't ready to fight and then BOOM Reinsen pretty much goes for the throat rolleyes
I would have perfictly been content to sit back and stay out of the last battle with Reinsen seeing as I just got off fighting Azure's character...
but anyways I will go back and edit the post but like I said it kinda felt like I was backed into a cornener here...))

Leaping up into the air and into the trees Sin quickly moved about from the branches until he leaped down and behind Issildia.
"not for nothing Issildia... but I am just blowing smoke here, I'm wounded, partially blind, and out of power.... Unless Grevious is willing to come out of hideing and ACTUALLY HELP HERE! I'm just going to be in the way... Of course at this point I will be asking for your assistance in the upcomeing battle with the Monkoto..."
He turned and faced her, his burned eye giveing him a mixed image of her in his eyes, his calm stare faceing her eyes.
"Unless my trust was mistplaced..."

"There will be no need to protect your people Sin..." Issildia said icily, though it could be easily sensed that the wounds she had sustained were finally taking a toll on her strength even with most of the direct pain held back by Kojin. "My father shall not be causing any more harm...at least...not here among the living." she added as she locked eyes with Reinsen.
"Foolish child...you can not even see the dangers closest to you...the snake that dwells among you even now." Reinsen said as he settled into a offensive position to prepare for a final attack, the very air beginning to hiss and crackle with electricity. "I am not so naive." she countered sharply. "No matter if one of my comrades was once your servant...I have no right to criticize one's past...not when I share the same blood as you father."
The fire Reinsen had summoned began to flare higher, illuminating the area with a crimson glow, filling the air with an unbearable heat.
"Cease in your petty words...let us end the suffering of the other, for your disobedience continued for far to long. " Reinsen paused for a short moment before he continued as a slight smirk crossed his face. "We will use the Dagnir en taur'ohtar...we are no savages daughter... as it is the way those of our blood should meet their end...so shall it be here."
Issildia narrowed her eyes slightly at the offer for the Dagnir en taur'ohtar; a sort of duel that only allowed the use of a blade and nothing else, it was also known as a ritualistic battle used within royal families...intended to end blood feuds with one chance at a kill. The latter belief was simply instated because no Dagnir en taur'ohtar had ever lasted more than a single instant...always one of the combatants was slain before a second round of the duel could continue...One chance, one kill. That is how the workings of the celtarie clans were decided. In a way it was an act of what one might call mercy from one such as Reinsen.
The silence stretched for some time before Issildia finally spoke, here eyes lowered as she refused to look up at her companions. "I accept." she stated coolly...though the grave undertones of her voice could no be missed as she roughly cast aside her father's blade and stepped forward to take her place exactly forty six strides from Reinsen's position as dictated by the terms of the duel.
"My thanks for what you have done..." Issildia said wordlessly to Kojin. "But I am no longer in need of your assistance...I believe you understand why..."

Kojin's grasp would weaken its hold on Issilda's mind returning her burdening pain back to her. "Farewell." WIth that, his astral body soon appeared once more as it pulled itself free of Issilda's.
Kojin stood there momentarily before fasing out once more, returning directly to Seishin's mind. The barrir around him faded instantly. Seishin rose slowly to his feet, wobbly from the great power he exerted while Kojin was away from him. Seishin was soon reassured by Kojin's grasp as it returned to his own mind, sturdying him and his senses. Understanding Kojin's own thoughts without communicating to him he knew what the outcome of the duel before him might be.
Seishin's blind gaze fell upon his brothers as he watched them, each also curious to what may happen. Ketsueki had returned to normal form and now stood by Kotsuizi.

Both Reinsen and Issildia settled into a slightly inclined stance with their blades held out behind them as if extensions of their arms. "Even under the terms of the Dagnir en taur'ohtar, you have no chance at defeating me...All you have done will be for naught...you and your people will be left to your empty legacies...forgotten by all in the coming days. " he said with a sinister grin.
"No action is without purpose, you would have become truly blind if you can not see that Father." Issildia said bitterly as she locked her gaze with him. Memories came unbidden of all that had brought her to this point. The burning of the White City, meeting Archer and traveling across the entire expanse of the Aldrene desert to only join forces with the Ryera. Then coming upon Khastur within Ryera lands and escaping with he and her azerian companion to the free lands of Keirdon....The massacre that took place in Faltora then came into her mind as if she had watched it transpire only moments before…then the journey to Trenian lands and meeting Kyrion the lord of the azerian’s. Then there was the duel between she and the lord of Baledon Sukiyo, than ended with her defeat. With what luck she still possessed she had managed to survive the encounter to aid in stopping the larovian advance upon the city.
And with other unforgettable events that transpired in-between…the burning of Anier seemed such a small thing compared to the rest. It was not revenge that now drove her actions...whether by her will or not, she had changed. Whether it be for ill or not, had still to be seen.
"Cease in your petty words…it is time that this was brought to a close!" Reinsen seethed as he suddenly leapt forward, blatantly ignoring the rules of the Dagnir en taur'ohtar in his own impatience. Left no other choice Issildia followed in suit, the pain that tore through her arm was near unbearable as she moved forward at a full sprint towards Reinsen. As the distance closed between them, time seemed to slow…the pain from the wound that plagued Issildia become a distant thing as the duel approached its climax. The memories continued to consume her mind until they became a deafening roar that threatened to overtake all senses.
Then as they brought their blades forward…the memories became silent and fled back to her subconscious leaving an unsettling quiet as time seemed to leave it’s sluggish pace and race forwards. The bitter hiss of metal biting into flesh broke the silence as the two combatants suddenly froze in mid-step once the climax of the duel had completed itself the moment blood had been drawn. Both stood completely still as those that observed were left in the dark as to who would fall.
The moment seemed to last for eternity as Reinsen and Issildia remained unmoving with their heads still lowered. Then the subtle sound of a single drop of blood hitting the ground could be heard…at that moment the sound of a body sliding to the ground quickly followed.
Slowly Issildia turned around…blood dripping slowly from her blade… The crumpled corpse of Reisnen Nevar lay on the ground with blood pooling around him from where he had been struck in the chest…a blade slipping cleanly through his ribs to strike his lungs and heart.
For a moment Issildia stood in utter shock at what had transpired until a wave of agony tore through her abdomen. Immediately her left hand reached instinctively towards a gaping wound as her side where her father’s blade had struck during the duel.
As she drew away her now bloodied hand, Issildia fell to her knees, finally giving in to the wounds she had sustained. She managed to look at the others for a fleeting moment before collapsing to the ground barely concious. At least she had accomplished what she had intended…but as she began to slip away from the conscious world, part of her would not simply allow death to some so easily. Issildia realized with a great deal of surprise that she did not wish to die as she once had. Death and glory were not the only things that life offered, though perhaps this realization had come far too late...

"ISSILDIA!!!"
Sin had only been able to watch as the duel took place but now that it was over it almost seemed like his muscles suddenly remembered how to move again. Rushing over as fast as he could he slid next to her and looked at the gaping wound at her side.
"Oh sure you can never do anything small can you!"
He shouted at her, his words holding more fear then anger in them.
"hey whoever you are! Get over here and help me!"
He cried out the Ketsueki and his brothers, as he pulled off his vest and immediately wrapped it around the wound, hoping to stop the bleeding. It was a large wound and the bleeding was the least of his worries but in his weakened state this was all he could hope for.
"Dammit Issildia if you die I'm going to kill you!"

Kegawa stood, shocked by what had happened. He froze for a moment, having never lost a friend. He snapped out of his statue-like state as Sin's words rang in his ears. He went to them knealing down next to the both of them as he gazed at Issilda's wounds.
"Seishin. Is it possible for Kojin to help her again?"
Seishin lowered his gaze slightly. "Kojin would not allow it, for I am to weak to be left to myself at the moment. Regardless, he wouldn't at all be able to control the bleedin-- Ketsueki, I do believe this is your field."
Ketsueki shrugged slightly, his arms crossed over his chest, as he turned his head to the side. "Bleh.. I'm more of the killing type. helping people live isnt exactly my thing."
