You walk through the dark, shadowed forest. In the middle of a clearing, with one single ray of light centered on it, is a mirror. What do you see when you look at it?
I see my reflection - I see who I really am inside.
I see who I have become - all my past efforts and endeavors roll before my eyes.
I see potential - the future, with all its possibilties, becomes clear to me.
I see my inner demons. I recognize them, so that I may conquer them.
I see darkness; the mirror is not a mirror, but a window to my soul.
I see someone else - the mirror is not a mirror, but a window, showing me my heart's true desire.
I refuse to examine the mirror. It is an illusion - I do not need it to tell me what I already know.

Farfarello was silent for a second as he stared at the silent babe in his hands. It was so small, tiny, in fact, as it stared up at him with giant eyes.
The demon's simple logic was this: if it was dead, he didn't have to take care of it.
"Well." He said finally, after much inward scheming, "I'll just have to find something else for us to eat, since not all of us will eat that," he pointed at the pile of dirty, crumpled leaves and grass. "I shall return," he declared, marching for the woods, the Rincaida child in hand and devious evils in mind.

"Oh, good. I shall accompany you." the Ganzi stated simply before strolling after the demon.

Farfarello jolted a little at Raedou's words. "No; that's quite alright. I can accompany myself. ...And this one." He held up the child by the arm.

Raedou squinted at the demon.

"No..." he replied, "I insist. I wouldn't want you to be all alone with a crying infant. Lead the way, bean sprout."

Farfarello frowned. "He's perfectly quiet right now. Trust me; I can handle it. You stay here and help the princess."

"I'm coming with you, bean sprout." he snapped back, "And that's that."

Farfarello frowned. Operation: Kill the Baby was off to a bad start.

((Well hurry up with all that. I'm just waiting to get to Favraes/Eopia, now.))

A strange green diamond appeared over Farfarello's head, divinely forcing him to abandon Operation: Kill the Baby and turn back to the caravan. "On second thought," he said, a glazed look in his eyes, "let's leave. I'm not hungry."

Raedou shook his head, confused, and limped over to his pack, where he pulled out another lace-covered container filled with salad and sliced fruit. He was saving this last meal for himself, but the princess was probably starving, and therefore was top priority. He took the meal in his hands and gave hit to Callisto.

"Here, Your Majesty." he said softly to the princess, "Eat. We have a long journey ahead of us."

Calisto nodded. "Thank you, Ganzi." She said, being as grateful as she knew how. She really was - grateful, that is, - she was just a princess and thus, didn't quite know how to show it. She began to eat.

Now, Farfarello wondered, what to do with you? He squeezed the Rincaida's soft, pink body.
The child laughed.

As Raedou climbed up to the driver's seat, he glanced at Farfarello, who was... squeezing the baby?

"Bean sprout," he called to the demon, "You get to sit with me on the way to Eopia. Come, and I will teach you how to raise your new son as we ride."

"He's not my son!" Farfarello said defensively. Had he not been completely black, fury, shame and general confusion would have shown itself in the form of redness on his face. Nevertheless, the demon clammored into the front seat of the caravan.
