Now she was baiting him. Jett made another quick count, breathed and looked back up at her. "That remains to be seen. I know you value your freedom very much but I do ask you not to risk an innocent child."

((Suji and I had been talking about slipping in this scene. >>; ))

"I know what you mean," Ana sighed enviously, "there are so many beautiful places here in the castle even though it seems that I never have the time to really enjoy them."

The two girls were eating breakfast in one of the small dining rooms reserved for the Dragon Knights, the same one Celia and Baran had eaten in the other day. Ana toyed briefly with the food on her plate as she continued talking. It seemed that she had finally made a real friend in the castle.

"Um," she blushed, embarrassed at her directness, "I don't mean to be rude, but I can't help but be curious... I overheard some of the other maids saying you are seeing one of the Dragon Fighters...?"

Celia had been quite enjoying the conversation, being really very friendly (for her at least) and talkative, but as soon as the last question slipped past the maid's lips, the knight turned bright red. She stopped eating for a moment, and simply stared at her food, putting her two index fingers together and apart, together and apart.

"Well...I um...Um...See...Its sort...sort of..." Seeing? as in Dating? Was that what it was? She knew she and Baran had gone somewhere, and that could be considered a date, she supposed, but she had never actually (so far as she knew) been on a date, and wasn't quite sure if that was a date. Was it a date?

Suddenly sentences began chasing each other around in her mind like lightning, and she could only try to keep up with them to work it out. Was it a date? Yes. No. Yes.

Okay, so it was a date. That was decided. But did that mean they were seeing each other? He had asked her out again after all...So...Were they? Yes. No. No...Yes? Maybe. Yes. No...Why wouldn't the sentences just make up their minds?!

"I...I went on a date...With Baran...If that's...If that's what you meant..."She managed to stumble out, glancing up at Ana, hoping she had given a response that was accurate, face still crimson as a rose, her eyes sort of sneaking up towards the other to see if that was the correct response.

Ana nodded, obviously curious in spite of herself. "I, uh, well..."

They both sat in awkward silence for a moment while Ana worked out what she wanted to say.

"...How was it?" She blushed deeper. "I'm, I'm kind of... myself. You know," Ana got out, fiddling with the flower on her breast again.

"Oh?"her eyes light up at this response, finding it quite interesting. The two girls who seemed so very similar had at similar times found someone they liked!

"Who is it? Will you tell me...?"Celia asked, not wanting to pry, but honest and truly interested in this. Ana was so shy...Did she find someone equally shy? Or did someone more outgoing ask her out?

The knight leaned ever so slightly closer to her, and then said,"I promise I won't tell anyone, if you don't want me to."

"I... I don't know if he would mind," Ana admitted. Then, shooting a glance towards the closed door leaned in towards Celia. "Liozu," she whispered, the pink spreading up to the roots of her hair and over to her ears. "Now, um, tell me something about Baran!" Ana added quickly to give herself a moment to recover.

"Really? Oh Ana, you two must be so cute together!"Said Celia, in her quick moment of excitement for the other, before she calmed down and realized that the topic had changed suddenly. For now, she would let it slide, a bit...Not for long, though.

"Well...I'm...I don't know how to say it...I guess...I'm comfortable with him, which is strange...Normally I'm so nervous...Especially around guys,"she said, trying to think of the right words to put it into. After a moment of silence, a slight rose color crept its way back onto her cheeks as she said the rest of her thought, "But...He makes me feel...kind of warm. I like it."

Quickly, she turned even more red, but then closed her eyes tightly and shook her head just a little to try and counter-act the effects of the blush. "Well...How about you-know-who?"She asked after a second, bringing Liozu very secretly right back on topic.

"I..." Ana turned her gaze from Celia's face to a spot several inches over and behind her head. "It's strange," she said, her voice almost confused. "I feel... I've dated other people before, before I came to the castle, but this is..." Ana bit her lip lightly, brow furrowed. "I'm not sure how to describe it. I wouldn't say he makes me feel 'warm'. It's like..." she tried anouther route. "Of course I knew who he was since I first came to the castle. I'd seen him around many times. I thought he was cute," she met Celia's eyes and giggled momentarily, "but that was it. In the past few days, however, it's like something has changed..." Ana's voice trailed off, her thoughts uncertain. "I can't put my finger on it. Maybe I'm the one who's changed," she finally concluded with a ghost of her nervous laugh. "I've never felt like this before. It's almost like I'm possessed."

Celia smiled a little bit, glad to find that Ana seemed to be enjoying herself. "Possessed, huh?"her smile got a little bit smirkish almost, thinking this was quite a lot like the love stories she read from time to time.

"I think you might be in love,"she said, picking up her cup and taking a little sip. "You've got all the classic signs...Or at least the signs from books,"she said, realizing she'd never seen someone truly in love before, except for her foster parents. They were a happy, in love couple right up until their last days.

Ana laughed, relaxing. "You think?" She rested both her arms on the table, breakfast pushed to the side and forgotten. "Hm." Ana half-smiled, feeling suddenly oddly clear-headed, as if the world had momentarily sprung into focus. "I don't know... Oh, why not," she giggled, turning pink again. "I don't mind."

That was wonderful, now Ana recognized it too! "Alright! So its decided then, we're in love,"She said, nodding with a smile.

Wait. Say what?

Celia's eyes suddenly got very large, and she fumbled to cover her mouth quickly. "I mean you! Your in love..."she said, turning pink all over again, and turning her face away from the maid as soon as she had finished speaking.

"It's all right," Ana laughed, sitting up properly and clapping her hands in delight. "It's all right." She smiled. "I'm happy for you. You know," she mused, "I can't believe we only met today. I feel like I've known you for a long time. I, uh, I don't normally talk to people like this. It's nice." She glanced up at the clock on the wall, then stood. "I'm sorry," Ana started, "I need to get back to work. Can we... meet up again sometime? I'd like to hear more about Baran."

Celia nodded, still very pink, but glad to have been a little reassured that it okay. "I know exactly what you mean...I would like it very much if we could do this again,"She replied feeling like she had made an excellent friend, simply by oversleeping today.

Before Ana had even got out of her chair, though, another maid came up to the table with a grin, handing over the three slender flowers and a note, which would be revealed to read: "What kind of jewellery do you like? Meet me for dinner."

"I don't know what you did to snare him, Ana, but the Earth Knight seems so much more... intense, these days!" Laughing, the maid fled the dining room for her own duties.

Humming in contentment at her quick thinking when she met one of the maids before leaving the castle and unconcernedly having snipped a few flowers from behind a tree (something more of deeper thought should be given later, but one does what one can with what one has), and scribbled down her note. She should spread her coming plan wide, after all.

Laughing, Empress grinned friendlily at the little girl skipping out from the bakery, who froze for a second, eyes darting around as if she was seeing something else, before she giggled shyly, waved, and ran down the street. Indeed, she was getting back into the hang of things. Children were always the trickiest to dupe when it came to her sort of possession, but it seemed she was making good speed in her adjustment to once again living in other people's bodies.

It was, nonetheless, not her preferred way of living.

Smirking openly at the jeweller whose shop she'd just entered, Empress laid her bag of goodies on the wooden surface.

"My good man, I have some rather rare jewels that I need to have worked into several pieces... I hope you will prove satisfactorily in what I want done," Empress purred at the man, keeping her usual disdain out of her voice and posture.

This would, most assuredly, be glorious.

((Kekekeke.))

Ana (later, outside the back entrance to the kitchens where she was sweeping the floor), was certainly pleased with how her day had gone so far. She had made friends with Celia, been informed by the head maid that not only had she done a fine job cleaning the Water Dragon Knight's room but that she could expect to do the Wind Dragon Knight's room sometime in the next month as well, and was now eagerly awaiting Liozu. He had sent her a note, he meant to come hear her response sometime, right? Of course, she was not quite sure how to respond. Ana was not used to having much jewelry; she owned a few simple pieces, but that was it. Still, that was not the point. She would be able to see him again and the mere thought distracted her from her work so that it was not until she looked down that she realized she had been sweeping the same area repeatedly, completely ignoring the rest of the floor.
