"Ah... yes," Iris admitted, a bit bashful. "I've only read up on the subject. And I'm afraid in my town, those books were incredibly limited."
She paused, and opened her book to the place where she had last left off. "So, how long have you been studying alchemy?"

"Ah well it's a pity, They really need more books available even to smaller towns." Piper tssked, she was a big supporter of learning and the fact that some towns didn't have a great bank of various, well rounded-knowledge upset her. She got over her small fit, if you could call her being upset a fit, and she smiled once more, "Oh well it's never too late to learn a new art." she hymmed and thought back to the first time she'd first read about alchemy. "I believe I was four. My uncle taught me, it started out as a hobby, and slowly I've noticed, I've started using it almost daily so much so that it's practically a lifestyle."

Iris nodded, a bit envious that Piper had had so long to learn about alchemy. Iris felt that she would never be up to par with Shtona or Piper. Kain seemed to know quite a lot about alchemy as well.
Anslia didn't seem to know much, but she seemed like a good fighter and a quick learner.
Iris sighed. "How extraordinary," she exclaimed. "My town really looked down upon alchemy - they sought it out as a black art and disapproved of my interest. Good thing my parents were supportive... I suppose," Iris said thoughtfully.

((OOC: Sorry i'm so late...these people stayed in the restraunt 45 minutes after close -_-))
Shtona sighed and pulled his eyes away from the paperwork. I think i need to get some fresh air...he thought, standing and heading toward the door. He grabbed his coat which he'd lain on the back of a chair on the way out. He went down the stairs to the second floor of the classroom building and walked along the empty halls. His footsteps echoed back to him and he smiled. He descended the next flight of stairs at the end of the hallway and stepped outside.
The headmaster crossed to the fountain, his footsteps echoing back to him even in such an open place. It's so quiet...

Piper nodded her eyes wavered off on a distnt bookcase as she did. "It's always good to have support in something that you like, especially people who are close to you." She smiled again at the thought, "You're town being so opposed to alchemy...but you're parents still backing you up, It sounds as though you truly have a nice family, it takes guts to stand out like that."

Anslia hadn't returned to the dorm rooms like the others. She had simply lain back down on the grass and taken a lengthy nap. Now, she was awake again and stretching her limbs. It had been silly to become immobile so soon after a fight. Her muscles screamed at her, but after abouta half hour, she had loosened up.
Time for a run... And around the grounds she went, keeping a rather fast pace. Before she knew it, she was near the front of the school, too intent on her jog to notice much else.

Iris nodded and smiled. "It was hard leaving them, but it's not as though I'm leaving them behind forever..."
She thought some more about this and opened her book to the page she last left off. She had taken several notes in the side of the text.

He sat on the edge of the fountain, running his fingertips through the crystal-clear water. He would've taken a drink, but he had no idea what kind of stuff could drift into such a fountain during the day and night, so he abstained. He almost laughed when he saw Anslia come around the corner of the dormitory building. Always training, even at dusk...

Anslia paused, jogging in place once she saw Shtona. "So... two questions. When can I start? What do I call you?" Seeing the fountain made her a bit thirsty, but she was ok. Remember to stop in the kitchen for a drink when you're done.

The first question was easy: "Tomorrow." The second one, not so much. He hadn't even thought of that one yet. He never liked people calling him by his last name, it made him feel old, which was something he definitely wasn't. He also didn't want his students calling him by his first name either. He was their teacher, not their friend. Of course friendships could bloom out of a strictly teacher-student relationship, but he'd cross that bridge when he got there. And so back to the original question, what for them to call him. He stuck with the easiest answer: "Whatever you want as long as it's not my name..."

Anslia paused for moment, forgetting to jog. "Crappy answer..." Looking at him more closely, she realized that he couldn't be much older than her. Well, appearance wise anyways. "How old are you anyway?"
She was trying to figure out what to call him. Mentally, she ticked off the names she refused to call him -- teacher, sir, master, and anything of the like. She hated authority. Never did well with it. She'd come up with some nickname or other...

"That's true." Piper nodded and opened her next book only to reveal a folded up peice of paper. She couldn't remember off the top of her head what it was so she slowly unravvelled the page and laughed slightly that she had forgoteen it had been only a few hours since she had written it. She turned her head so that she was facing Iris once more, "Do you want to alter the bracelets sometime tomorrow, or put it off for a bit?" she asked, the note she was holding in her hands was what she had written earlier about the transmutation circles, bracelets, and gemstones.

Iris looked at her for a moment, a smile spreading across her face. "Can we do it now?"
She patted her jacket furiously, and seemed to locate what she was looking for. Out of another one of the pockets she pulled out three bracelets.
After several more pats, she located the other two.
"Here are the bracelets. They're pretty thick, so I thought putting gemstones on two or three of them and transmutation circles on the others would work. So... do you think that would work?" Iris asked hopefully.

"Twenty-four..." he said, still running his hand through the water.

((Heads up, my relatives are coming to stay at our house for like a week, so I don't know how much I'll be on the computer.))
Piper thought for a moment and stood up, "Sure just let me go get the supplies from my room, I should have everything needed to engrave them. You might want to draw out the transmutation circles that you want on them." She said simply shutting the book in front of her and headed for the doorway. "be right back." She pushed open the door to the hall and headed down to her room, where off to the one side was nothing but books, papers, beakers, different chemicals and metals. She grabbed one of her tote bags and filled it with a couple of different labelled brail bottles, and a few poles of very dense metal. "I think that's it." She said, leaning awkwardly to the side as she held the tote bag. It weighed more than it probably should have. It was one of the things she had determined she must work on while she was here, strength and stamina. But she didn't figured she could practice by carrying a tote bag, and she wasn't going to keep doing it either. With some effort she slung the bag over her shoulder and started back down the hall towards the common room once more.
