"Alright, Follow me." Sai said and led them to the column in the center of the village.
They consulted the crude map that was engraved into the stone and then left for what appeared to be the only diner in town. When they arrived they were confronted with a relatively tall pleasantly wooden building. There were high arches over the doors and a fenced-in sitting area just outside of the building. There were no lines, so Sai led the way into the building and they seated themselves, Stratus had stayed outside and perched on the edge of the roof. He could see a bulletin near a counter stating everything on the menu, which was moderate. He was extremely pleased to see that the prices here were reasonable.
"Well, what are you two having? I'll go place our order." He said having already decided to order himself a large popkin.

"I'm fine, I can go awhile without eating. Besides, I'm not one who has much money." Kin replied, sitting down.
Kin said slightly annoyed.
Vix replied.

"Okay, so a popkin for me and a water for Kin. Minatsuki? What will you be having?" Sai asked.

Minatsuki walked up to the menu, and studied it carefully. When she decided what she wanted, she turned to Sai with a smile.
"Double plate of Hyper Kabob, please."
Asako cried with joy, seeing Minatsuki order.
"I'd also like a separate box of apples, please."
Less enthusiastically, Minatsuki ordered for Asako.

"Alright then, I'll be right back." Sai said.
He went up to the counter and ordered. He noticed that the Hyper Kabob was one of the medium priced items on the menu, but by ordering double Minatsuki had assured that her meal would be expensive by this diners standards.
That's all right, I asked her what she wanted, she told me.
He returned to the table to wait for their meal to be prepared. He was sure it wouldn't take long. He took his previous seat.
"So, Minatsuki? How long have you been a combatant?" Sai asked.

Sitting down along side, Minatsuki rested her head on her hands.
"Umm... Not too long actually... Couple of months, I think, but I can't remember when."
Looking up at Asako, Minatsuki sighed, shrugging. She did not have any obligation to tell them about her family.
"What about you guys?"
Minatsuki quickly redirected the question with a smile.

"I've been a Combatant for a year now. But I put in some extra study time to make up for my former delinquency, so I just left home today." Sai said.
He noticed that the apples and Kins water were waiting on the counter so he went over and retrieved them. He returned to the table with them and set the apples in front of Minatsuki and the water before Kin.
He felt a sudden surge of satisfaction, like that of a job well done.
He asked Stratus.
Stratus answered

Kin slowly picked up his glass and sipped slowly and quietly set it back down. Kin kept quiet and thought about what he should do next.
Kin said to Vix.
Vix replied.
Kin asked.
Vix replied again.

Minatsuki muttered thanks to Sai and stood up, taking the apples. To the side, she opened the box, and called for Asako, who immediately flew down to charge at the apples. Smiling and petting Asako, she returned to the table.
"What about you?"
Minatsuki asked Kin, a smile on her face.

Kin looked slightly confused at Minatsuki's question. "Uhhh.... I have been a combatant for only a few months..." Kin tried to explain.
Vix reminded Kin.
Kin replied.

Sai went back up to the bar, they had set two more plates on the counter. One had his extra sized popkin, and the other was laden with double kabobs for Minatsuki. He took both plates back to the table and set the kabobs down in front of Minatsuki. He sat opposite her and began to eat his popkin.
"So, Minatsuki," Sai said between bites, "How did you and Asako come to be partners?"

Sparkling eyes, Minatsuki dug in to her food, eating happily. She savored the taste, throwing them in her mouth. Swallowing, Minatsuki sighed, satisfied at the taste and happy that there was more to go.
"Well... I guess I can say we sort of grew up together. I got her egg when I was just a toddler, and I guess we're more of a childhood friend than a combat partner."
Minatsuki scratcher her head, smiling at Sai.
Asako glanced over at Sai and Kin, but shrugged, going back to her apple heaven.
"You?"
Minatsuki asked, going back to her food.

"Look at the sky, Sky. It's like a wave of color."
Faia was laying down on the cool grass. Her boots sat next to her, her barefeet disappearing into the long blades. Sky stood next to her, blades of lush green grass disappearing into her mouth. Her sapphire eyes gazed up at the sky for a moment before returning to Faia. She nipped at a strand of Faia's silky, blonde hair, causing the girl to giggle.
Faia smiled at her partner, running a slender hand down Sky's silky nose. The mare watched Faia with curiousity glittering in her eyes. Faia returned that curiousity with a smirk.

"I first saw Stratus while searching the wilderness with Master. Stratus flew overhead. We followed him for days before catching up and I was able to bind him after a... very long and drawn out confrontation." Sai said and then took another bite of his popkin. "So, any familial traits or spells passed down or anything? For me, my family has an affinity for wind element spells. Plus, Stratus is a wind dragon so that actually heightened my wind abilities slightly."

Taking another bite and a swallow, Minatsuki thought as she held the spoon up to her lower lips.
"Not really, but... I suppose... My family attribute is... Techinique based. Not real elemental or trait."
Thinking back to her big family of its own characteristics, Minatsuki sighed at the expectation placed upon her shoulder.
