((OOC: Um, Aer landed on Tekira with his gitacr, Wraith took Aer, Janika and Tekira on his boat and healed her, the boat identified Aer as the next Wraith, and Aer's father Rivus has shown up with evil plans that Ikken has not yet specified. That's about all.))

((Most of us are now at Forteresse de Terrain Vague, my home port, and you and Xaron just kinda wandered off. Me and Ikken kinda collaborated on Aer being the next succesor to the title of Seeker (and possibly the chosen one sweatdrop ) So now, Wraith is sleeping; Janika, Aer, and Tekira are enjoying a feast of pork roast (Ikken kjnows how good my mothers pork roast is); and you and xaron are doing your own thing.))

((Not much else to say. I'll get you a profile for Rivus ASAP, Faey, or should I say Clockwork?))

Aer shook his head and dropped his fork on his plate. "I don't know," he murmured. "I don't know what my father plans, but Wra--Amryk... Amryk plans to make me the next Wraith. Or his ship does, or... Something, I don't know. I'm not enjoying this, though, that much I can say for sure. I don't want to stay here, not with Rivus wreaking havoc... And I certainly can't go back home after this. I don't even know the full scope of that ship's capabilities; it might not let me leave." He growled. "I don't know why I'm the bloody best choice. I haven't even been off my home island for a whole day yet, and this flaming ship thinks I'm the best prospect to be flying around the world, going on adventures, putting it and myself in danger..." He picked up the fork and jabbed at a piece of meat as if it had insulted him. "Bloody stupid ship."

Tekira smiled at him soothingly. "Maybe you are. It must have been around for a long time, from what I understood. If it's survived this long, it can't be that stupid. And..." she paused. "They say the best people for adventures are the ones with good intentions or at least a good heart. You've got that. And your father left, didn't he?"
She knew that what she was saying was making very little sense, but she hoped the meaning behind it would be clearer.

((OMG, I can't resist!))

As if on commnand, at the words "Bloody stupid ship," There was a flash of light and a bolt of energy struck the fork, knocking it from Aer's grasp and stinging his hand.

Tekira eyed the half-melted, twisted fork and grinned. "Apparently it doesn't take insults well."

((Okay, thanks.

(( It is situated just above a large fresh water lake on the wastelands, between the two main realms of civilization. It's supposed to bae a hidden city so I can't give an exact location, buts around a days flight to the northwest from the black dunes.))

Aer jerked his hand back, staring, of all things, at the meat on his plate. "Well," he muttered, "all I can say is, the current Wraith had better not need much more than a few hours' rest. I was never much for cliffhangers."

((Thanks. I'll put a vague mention of it on the front page then, so no one knows where it is, is that okay?))

Tekira tilted her head slightly to the side. "I'm sure he'll be up soon."
She absently twirled a strand of hair around her finger, a habitual gesture that would tell someone who knew her well that she was thinking deeply about something that worried her.

((Okay...lessee....how to re-introduce my characters...)

After meeting the Black Marauders, Faeandra and Zepher were taken to their base for refreshing and meeting with the chief. After arriving, Faeandra didn't see her companion again except for in brief moments. A few days were spent telling the new chief her plans and whether they had any information to help her in her quest. Interestingly, they had records of her grandfather passing through the area, being drawn by his Hearrte in the same direction as Faeandra herself was now being drawn. Perhaps family clans had Hearrtes in similar locations?
A few adventurous young Marauders offered to go with her, but she denied, accepting only a sketchy map based on the records they had of her grandfather's travels through their lands. With that, she headed in a semi-northernly direction.

((Dang. I had to make do with Sloppy Joe's tonight. I wish I was a bad person with pizza, instead of a bad person with barbecue sauce running down my white shirt. sad ))

Aer glanced over at Tekira. "I still don't know if we can even trust him. Who can say whether he is telling the truth? I don't know what he could be scheming. I'm not my father, and I don't have his skill at reading people; the only thing I have to go on are Wraith's words."

~

Rivus stood facing the painting on the wall, his hands clasped behind his back. For the moment, he'd hidden himself beneath a magickal mask, the appearance of a small, thin man, nondescript, and with a full head of thick black hair, pulled back tightly.

He turned and moved to the next painting. "Liebesgöttin", the plaque beneath it read. The painting depicted a tall woman with long, flowing orange-brown hair; nude, of course, and standing in a large half-shell. There were other people around her, basking in her glory, but she--the Liebesgöttin, 'Goddess of Love' in an old Gortul language, dominated the artwork. This was no gateway, of course, unlike the paintings in the chamber above. This was merely an art gallery. Other refugees, those who had willingly given up their Hearrtes to Wraith's cause, milled about in the gallery as well.

Rivus was tempted to kill every last one of them. And, Hearrteless and helpless as they were, he could have, too. But Wraith would know he was here. The ship, if not the man. Either could mean disaster. Hopefully his plans had not already come to failure; he had expected something of a more warm welcome from his 'friend'; after all, he had played the helpful acquaintance to Wraith for at least two decades. More likely than not, Wraith had simply been put off by the fact that Rivus had entered his domain without his knowledge. That was a mistake Rivus was not going to make twice.
