To Raynes' answer, he nodded. It was always good to know who was on duty and when the next patrol shift would happen. In the recent years ever since the theft, he had been pushing for an overlap in shifts because it would allow greater coverage of the city's areas in case anything else happened again. "Indeed, the Orb has disappeared for a long time but it is never too early to start asking questions again. Now that we have the help of the creators of the Orb itself, perhaps the answers will reveal themselves soon." Blinking a moment, he turned to the small Laerethe at his side. "Have you been in contact with such evils out in the plains, M'lady?"

"They know I am innocent. I am being held more for my protection than anything else since I have never formally been arrested and charged. You, however, have which is why you cannot escape. And I fear that Hunter may have set you up a little too neatly. There were feathers at the scene and even if they don't match Chy's it means very little. We are strangers here and have nothing on our side." She sheathed her dagger adn walked over to her friend turning her. "It is soon to set on this side of the room."
Eilynne studied the young human for a long time, not speaking, just looking at him. She didn't understand why he avoided her questions as though he was still ashamed. When she finally looked away, her gaze moved back to Kaznec and she nodded. "Questions allow me to understand much that occurs both on the outside and inside." Her hand lifted and she toyed briefly with the mirror around her neck. "Such evil is not consuming yet but I fear if paths are trod, it will soon be. Remain alert, young human. There is a storm on the horizon." She gave a nod to him and began to head back to the tower, knowing Kaznec would fall into stride. "Obtain the list. I will rest and we shall begin tomorrow."

When the commander actually said that they were having the help of one of the creators of the Orb it then clicked, so now he remember where he saw this little person standing in front of him, well he only heard of them but the description was good enough to build the image in his head. so he was able to meet one of them, now that brightened his day. "I understand Ma'am." He gave a small nod to her and smiled lightly, probably no one would believe him but he didn't care for the moment. Though when given the warning from the little one Raynes just blinked as he watched her leave, well now if he were to ignored that warning it would be a dumb choice since it was coming from one of them, so he would do what she told him and that's to just stay alert; in a place like this though anything could happen and mostly likely it would someday, maybe it's going to happen now. So with a small sigh he returned to his normal duty, continue to walk the path along the wall he was on, his eyes now opened to look for even the oddest thing that was out of place.

"Then if they know and such, let's make it easy on ourselves. And remember...Chy had some rather...unique feathers." Letting her friend turn her and such to give her a better way to think of how the sun was and such. "Hm...we should get some rest. Believe me Shyrae...you're better off staying here with me. Otherwise I might of done something really really stupid by now." Smirking lightly and then sharing a laugh with her friend.
Lycear had been up all night. He had seen the sun set and he had watched it rise. His desk was littered with evidence and notes on all the things he could think of. Tapping a talon on the desk he nodded then got himself up, stretching his arms as well as his wings. They were well worn, showing scarring in the membrane as well as battle and hard life earned tears. A scratch behind his broken horn and then he relaxed some. Well...he had personal visits to make.
Making sure orders were given out, he gathered matters of evidence and notes into a bag and slung it over his shoulder. Leaving the tower and hitting the streets he stopped for a moment to look over the fair city with a light smile. Well then, pleasure on hold and onto business. He had a few places to visit.
Well...she was getting irrtated. The most attention they had gotten today was breakfast being delivered. It was certinally better than any prison food they may have gotten. Along with breakfast came a note speaking of how they were going to have an audience with Lycear once more. More specifically to see if they could get anything out of said soul. She held the piece of paper for the moment...kind of stupid for a mostly blind woman to be holding a note. Then again it was pleasing at the same time...meant they didn't know the state of her vision. Idly she held it out to Shyrae.

She took the note from her friend and scanned it then dropped it on the bed. "They expect a showing of your powers later. A soul reading of the victim to be more specific. "Hopefully you'll be able to prove your innocence through it." That was rather exciting, wasn't it? Picking up the plate, she walked to the window. "Do you think if I cause a fuss they might let me go out with a guard? I hate being inside all the time."
Eilynne was once again in the falcon form, scanning over the city as she sat there on the wall. The early morning crowd was always interesting to watch and she found she learned much by just obvserving. Her sensitive eyes caught sight of Lycear and took to the skies once again before diving down and landing quite peacefully on his shoulder. Chirping at him, she nibbled on his ear. Any news, dragonlord?

"Goody." Poking at what she had assumed to be eggs on her plate a moment before taking another bite. "Depends on what kind of fuss. The mean crazy fuss may not get you anywhere but the being cooped up fading away elf fuss may get you what you want."
He blinked and then gave a chuckle at the falcon that really wasn't a falcon at all. "On any particular subject M'lady? Your reason for being here or my own troubles?" Heading his was down the street, stopping into the various smith shops and weapons shops and such. He was first inquiring about this murder weapon.

Xaeus leaned over the table, staring into the eyes of the young women. "Life is about making difficult decisions, those decisions are always leading to more complicated, and unpredictable directions, no matter how well you plan out the situation..." He body leaned forward, "At times, all it takes is another, kindred spirit, another piece of cake, to make this chaotic life worth living." He dipped is fork into the women's cake, and took a long bite. "That sweet moment, when the chocolate hits your taste buds, and the whole world melts into a vague, unimportant blur, and the only thing that matters is the texture of the cake, the sweet sweet love of the pastry sliding over your tongue, down your throat, and into oblivion..." He quivered with joy. "But, then its over. The cake is gone, and you are forced to live in the real world, where the vivid situation of being alive is forced upon you like the wildfires of hell." He paused, and realized he was in weapon's shop.
A man walked in and started asking questions about 'murder' and 'weapon'. The elf paused, and looked about. Apparently he followed this woman across town, with only the hope of having a bite of her sweet cake. "I better be going... not wanting to be thought suspect of any illegal doings or avoiding the census..."

"I think I can play the vulnerable needing fresh air and such sort of elf pretty well. I just have to be quiet and depressed and not eat anything." She frowned down at her plate. "That shouldn't be too hard..." The food was certainly lacking something and she had no doubt that not only would her mother have a fit and personally instruct the cook how to prepare food. Spices! she would scream. Spices! "I have to get someone to pay attention first."
Both are fine, dragonlord. I merely seek news of any sort. She blinked and hopped up onto his head instead, resting on his good horn for a perch as her mind scanned through the surface thoughts of the various humans, elves, and dragons. Her kind would fit right in here just like they had before. She conducted a quick study of her current ride and chirped. What are you searching for?

"Be hysterical before you have your big break down? Or start a fire. Starting fires is always very effective." Giving a snickering chuckle at that before another bit of her eggs. A feel around her plate till she found a piece of toast and took a bite of that as well. Free food always did taste the best. "Caged things often bounce around thier bars before they give into thier defeat."
"Our business I have not yet anything new on. This muder business however." Giving a smile and a not ot the shop owner at all the information that had been exchanged. "I am finding out much...all it takes is the right questions to find the right answers." Leaving that place adn then hitting a few more, repeating his processes and such. Sure it probably either looked perfectly normal or weird that he was talking to a bird perched on his horn. "I search for the truth among lies...such as this weapon for example. It's Ilindal make...and I have yet to find someone who has sold it. It could be taken from someone in the desert, but there is blood of only one...and no trace of any rubbed off on anything yet. There is little water around the wasteland."

The elf followed the detective. "It would be very sloppy to buy a weapon used for assassination when it would be much more effective to build your own. Foraging weapons is a skill which can be performed in the comforts of your own home, given that you have the means to do so. Since forges are not small, and the size of the oven required to smelt metal is rather large, you may wish to consider investigating private homes and forges. If it is the work of a professional, I doubt you would find any evidence in the way of spare parts or failed attempts. The metal composition is probably a good way to figure out which type of environment it was made because most people do not keep the necessary weights for the proper material combinations to create the common alloy. It is possible it was forged outside the city and brought in for this use, if you have more than one identical blades. Most smiths sign their weapons, if these lack a signature you can probably assume that the forger knew what the weapons were going to be used for. Perhaps, you should watch the crowds for someone who is snickering at your back because you cannot find the origins of this weapon, as the ruse to make you waste energy investigating all of the local smiths had worked well, meaning their plan had succeeded in garnering them more time for any second phase of their plot... Unless, it really was just an assassination."

Well, three deaths one injury and abandonment. not bad. so back on the ship, using pulleys and such to lug up the huge stone chest they'd found. oh and the strange looking scimitar type weapons and a few pieces of armor.
then they set sail, before Hunter let the bird out of the bag...and kicked off the stone lid. look at that, filled with gold coins with a skull on them...and a few large peices of rainbow-like glass. might be sellable...but the coind caught attention.
"Now that's a nice haul out of there. wonder if that's what those others were after. We need to get some replacements for the crew, so back cityside with us. and I got a date to keep."

Lycear stopped in his tracks, turning his head and thus attention over his shoulder to the elf whom decided he wanted to play detective in offical matters with long and involved thought out theories of things. Raised eyebrow before he crossed his arms over his chest. Not many approached the head of the Guard directly with talk of such things that were not for the public to speculate on because it would only bear forth nasty rumors. Rumors were not what he needed.
"Like an elf to come up with a long winded explaination for something he knows little to nothing about in specific reguards." Yeah a little weird for him to be approached as such. Perhaps that was what he got for being out on his own and every one knowing him in some way. "Though yes, I have taken some of those things into consideration...though you seem to be interested in this all, don't you?"
He grumbled as he made his way into the city. They were efficent in digging out those gates from the sandstorm, he would give them that...they were almost done. Unfurling his wings, from being draped around his shoulders he brought himself to the top of the wall. A breif conversation with guards and he dropped down into the city easily enough. Of all the hassles of children. It wasn't enough that he fed them two times a day and clothed them, but one had hoof issues. Now where was that smith again?
Chylithair was not a happy creature still. Being in a bag was not a fun thing at all. Pissed as all hell when he was let out and a few of the grew got a good pecking and clawing at before he settled once more on the railing. City huh? Good.

"I dislike the idea of murders going unpunished. Just an everyday person wishing to keep his everyday the way it has been always." Odd response, "Thus, my interest is born from my desire to see nothing change."
"Is it so rare for elves to care about peace and prosperity these days?"

"Nothing is going unpunished, we simply do not want to be unjust and punish those who are innocent." Though he did give a chuckle as he started to continue on. "But fair elf...nothing every stays the same. Ever. You, if any, should know that. A world without change would be desolate and unhappy...much like the wastelands." A shake of his head. "Not rare for you all to care about peace and prosperity, but rare for you to not accept that things change around you."

Kaznec landed on the city wall from his morning flight, folding his wings behind him naturally. With the case in mind, he proceeded up the tower to find his father, hoping that they could discuss it together. The guard on duty informed him that Lord Lycear had already gone out. However, as long as he was up here, there was probably something else that he could do. Turning the key in the door lock, he knocked then opened the door where the two elves were being kept. "Good morning. Is the breakfast suitable to your tastes?"
