Looking at Silver, Shamira smiled slightly in thanks.
"Wonderful." she really had no idea when they were leaving, already having forgotten anything Val had said about when they were leaving.

Val looked a bit concerned. "hmm, well I would be careful Leshya'e, the future still seems to be forming right now and it is very uncertain but there appears to be danger ahead. Help Anezka develop strong and eventually it seems she will be the one protecting you." She stood up. "Well, we really need to get going."
Valelldia went to a wooden box on the floor to pull out a small amythest. "Take this and put it under your pillow when you sleep. It shall help you remember more of the dream. It seems the details are still vague. It shall also help you to remain lucid while you dream helping you to figure out what is going on." She looked at Shy for a response.

Leshya'e nodded and squeezed the amethest in her hand, "All right...yes...Thank you, Val" She bowed her head and headed back out of Whistle Stick, hoping that the dream wouldn't appear again.

Anezka crawled slowly around the wagon, attempting ever so often to pull herself into a standing position. After falling back onto her bum a few times, she made a grumbling sound and crawled out to the steps of the wagon, looking out at everyone and waving her hands at Leshya'e.

Caroline, sitting on the steps to Mountain Air, cradles a sleeping Rojiza in her lap. She smiles down at her radiant daughter. Without warning, Rojiza awakes. She looks distraught. She leaps out of Caroline's lap and starts wandering around. By now accustomed to Rojiza's restless nature, Caroline smiles a little more and keeps an eye on Rojiza. However, when Rojiza starts to head away from the caravan, Caroline swiftly scoops her up and holds her close.
"You know you aren't to wander away from the caravan, carina," she gently chides. Rojiza only makes some noises and struggles to be away from Caroline. She seems focused on something else, off in the distance. "What is it, darling?" She asks, trying to see whatever it is that Rojiza sees, without success.

((Alrighty ladies and ... more ladies... XD We've been sitting here on the road often enough. Now that we've picked up our lovely additions, we are on the ROAD!! We will be arriving in Mulden by TOMORROW, so be ready for the RP. The flatsale is schedules for soooooooon... so we have to get everything up and running before then. ^_^))

Valelldia stepped off the wooden banters that led from WhistleStick to the flat, muddy earth of the road to Mulden, and arched her nimble fingers over her eyes to protect them from the glare of the sun. It was high in the sky, and casting a direct shadow onto the wagons of her caravan- illuminating the worn wheels and tired animals that carried the gypsies through their course. That sun also told the caravan leader that it was time to depart. Mulden was but an afternoon's ride, and they were desperately in need of supplies.

She gathered the gypsies together to speak with them, drawing them to the outside of her wagon with not only her words, but a drifting desire that she set upon the wind to cause their heads to turn to heed her. (Simple magic, but effective- windbringing had been a gift of hers from the time she was small; it was one of the reasons her Paj teller had told her she was meant to guide others.)

"Tonight we ride into Mulden, and camp on the outskirts of town. We're in desperate need of supplies... so long were we in the woods." Her eyes travelled up to where the Sheulan lay, in the distance- but they had been on the road so long that the only thing she could see were the tips of the trees, pointing towards the sun... far in the distance.

"I would like you all to comprise a short list of what you will be needing in town, so I can help facilitate trading. We will start the wagons up now- no need to waste time. When you have your lists, either committed to memory or scrawled on parchment, either bring them to me, or dagger them to the side of your wagon- I'll pick them up in the night."

Hearing this, Caroline disperses with the crowd back to Mountain Air. She takes a piece of parchment from her desk, along with the one small inkwell and rather raggedy quill pen she owns. She sits to comprise her list. She glances back at Rojiza, who's fussing in her bed. She'd been like that all evening...what could be wrong with her? Shaking her head, Caroline turns her attention back to her list.

Caroline Rainiera
Needles--thin
Needles--thick
Cobbler's thread
Regular thread, black
Jingle coins
Lengths of satin and chiffon in bright colours
Black face colour
Leaf of mint

An interesting list, to be sure. Caroline's a very poor cook, so she works for most of her meals--by dancing. Her costumes were in desperate need of repairs, and the entirety of her list is comprised of supplies to repair them with. Well, except for the mint leaf. That's for tea. And the face colour. That's part of the costume, and she'd run out a long time ago.

Caroline takes her list outside and sets about finding Valelldia.

Lorelei took her own good time getting washe up and dressed, moving with the aching sluggishness of either somebody who had been on the road for too long with no rest, or the elderly. And as she was somewhere under twenty, it was probably the former.

Once she had changed into the spare clothing, she unplaited her hair. The woman tried to organize her hair with her fingers alone, but soon spotted a hair brush laying out nearby. She dragged it through her russet locks a few times, then struggled with a couple rather nastily tangled knots.

After about five or ten minutes, her hair finally gave in and decided to behave, and she began to braid it once more, the braid coming down from just behind her left ear. Since she'd started braiding it herself - Lorelei had had to redo it on occasion when she took it down for Shamira's pleasure - it'd been easier to plait it on the side, rather than in the back.

Lorelei made the bed quickly, then opened the wagon door, looking out, eyes searching for Shamira.

After listening to Val's announcement about trading in Mulden, Silver figured it would be a good idea to go ahead and look through her wagon and make out her list now, instead of scrambling at the last minute and forgetting a few things like she normally would. That way if she missed anything she'd have time to think of it again before sundown. She got back to her wagon just in time to see Lorelei poke her head out, obviously looking for Shamira. "She's over there,"
Silver said, gesturing with a wave of her hand, which she hastily replaced before Aisrhan started to slide to the ground.
She smiled at Lorelei and eased past her through the door and began looking through a cabinet for some parchment and and ink. Some people liked to use more modern writing utensils but Silver had always loved quill pens. Finally, coming across her last few pieces of paper and a mostly dried inkwell, Silver picked up the quill, and, walking across the wagon, unhooked the latch that let the table unfold from the wall. She eased it down and sat on the bed next to it. Aisrhan quietly crawled onto the bed and curled up next to Silver to watch her. Dipping the quill in what was left of her ink, Silver began to write:

I don't expect you to be able to find everything on this list, or in the amount I've specified. It's been too long since we've been able to get supplies, as you well know... If you can get any of this, I will be most grateful. I will look for some it it myself, as well as a few other things I've not listed.

- lamp oil
- ink
- parchment
- a new quill
- dried fruits like apples and bananas (or fresh fruit - I can dry it myself)
- herbs and spices: sage, thyme, ginger, chamomile, salt (if you can find any)
- new needles
- black, green, and white thread
- 2-3 yards of green cloth (cotton)
- 2-3 yards of white cloth (also cotton)
- 2 pair of size 9 traveling boots

Thanks, Val.

After signing her name, Silver drew her mark as she always did. Only for those she trusted, like Val and other caravan members, did she sign her name as well. Normally her signature was only several odd lines that formed an image of a sleeping dragon. Those that needed to would recognize it, and others would see it as scribble. She put the stopper onto the inkwell and put bottle and quill back into the cabinet. She left the table down with the list on it, held down by a small stone she used as a paper weight, and went back outside, with Aisrhan once again clinging to her neck.

((I am finally working on a sketch of my wagon and Silver's background story. ^^;; Took me long enough, ne? ))

Leshya'e walked back to her wagon after hearing Valelldia's announcement. To her surprise, Anezka had taken the initiative to crawl out of Varekai and was now waving her arms around. "Well, hello there, dear" Leshya'e smiled and leaned down, kissing the top of Anezka's head. She walked into the wagon and grabbed some paper and a writing utensil. Going back outside to sit on the steps, Leshya'e bit her lip thoughfully as she made a list of needed items, starting with the basics:

Milk
Eggs
Flour
Sugar

She glanced over at Anezka and nodded, continuing the list:

Mortar & Pestle
Assorted fruits and vegetables (whatever is available and fresh for the season)

Putting the paper down she looked over at Anezka and smiled, "What do we need, Ani? Can you think of anything we don't already have?" Anezka bit her lip and scratched her chin in imitation of Lesh, then rolled onto her back and wiggled her bare feet. "Ah! yes...shoes and socks...we could both use some of those when things get cold.

Wool Socks
Wool Sweaters
Leather Boots

"I think that's it...most of those things can be bartered for...but I have plenty of gold coins to buy what I need if a trade can't be agreed on" Standing up, she went back into Varekai and came back out with Valelldia's brushes. Picking up Anezka, she brought the brushes and the list over to Whistle Stick.

((Okay, so as not to confuse anything in the ongoing plot, I'm going to have any posts of Lorelei at camp here! I think that'll work nicely... then people can come "home" to this main thread, or something like that. sweatdrop ))

Lorelei sat on the grass outside of Silver's wagon, staring up at the stars. It'd been a while since she'd been awake enough once the sun had set that she could really pay attention to the twinkling fireflies of light dotting the sky.

She hadn't gotten much of a chance to talk to Shamira all day, what with getting ready to set out, and actually moving along. Shamira had been eager to help the caravan, and though Lorelei wasn't at all useful at manual work, she helped as best she could. There hadn't been too much hard work, but it wasn't a picnic, either.

A picnic... hm, it'd been a long time since she'd been on one of those.

The party venturing into Mulden had yet to return, and a part of her mind was starting to worry... from the position of the moon, it was nearing midnight. Where could they be?

The redhead flopped onto her back, resting her head on her arms. She hummed a soft tune under her breath, from time to time breaking into an odd, ancient language. She usually didn't have much luck at singing, but this old song seemed to fit her enough that she could follow the words and melody if she wanted.

Shamira rubbed her hands on the old dress she was wearing, smiling slightly. She'd been helping as much as she could, but opted to stay at the caravan with Lorelei when the others had left.
There hadn't been much time to talk to the other woman, and Shamira was beginning to miss her lover's company. It was more than weird to be surrounded by so many people again, many of which were gypsies like herself - and quite frankly, the gypsy woman in question was a bit concerned about how Lorelei felt about all of this. It'd been a busy day, and she hadn't had much time to talk to her, as both she and Lorelei had been helping around the caravan.

As she sat down beside the scholarly woman, Shamira wrapped her arm around Lorelei's shoulder.
"Hey," the gypsy woman mumbled as she laid her head on her lover's shoulder in what could almost be called a sign of vulnerability.

Lorelei smiled, looking over at Shamira. "Good evening..." she murmured in response, slipping an arm around the gypsy's waist. "Tired from all the work you've been doing? You did so much today, even after our exhausting... journey." The last word was said with a slight furrowing of her brow, and a cruel twist of her lips. Apparently, she didn't like the memory of the journey... the flight? one bit.

She rested her cheek against the crown of Shamira's head, closing her eyes for a moment.

"I don't want you working too hard... I don't want you getting hurt, or sick, or something like that."
PostPosted: Sat Sep 24, 2005 6:53 am

"Mmm.." Shamira nuzzled her head against Lorelei's neck, quickly forgetting about everything and everyone.
"Y'did mor..." her voice was muffled, and the woman's sleepy brain hoped her lover got the message. She'd been quite impressed with how Lorelei'd handled life in a caravan thus far.

"Hardly... but thank you." Technically, she'd done proportionately more... she wasn't used to labour of any sort, unlike her gypsy companion. So the amount of things she'd been able to help out with certainly might seem impressive to one who knew her background.

"Shami? Where do you think you'll be sleeping tonight?" Lorelei stretched a little, shifting so the other woman was more comfortable. "The others aren't back yet... did they leave their wagons locked?" She really wasn't looking forward to another night of sleeping on the ground.
