Your know you're a band geek when you join the Band Nerd Guild and realize that your geekiness doesn't even match that of most of the members of the guild but you want it to.
It's so true! omg i have no idea what everyone's talking about most of the time. i thought i was a big band geek but now i just feel like my school is really poor. sweatdrop

Sakeyum When you can understand the rivalry between Trumpets and Percussion as the leading section (and realize it IS the percussion). no no no battles: flutes/tubas percussion/colorguard 3nodding woowind/brass etc etc

FabledAddiction And yes, I've been trying to make a note come out of a flute for 5 years, but I've never been able to *stabs* *pouts for you* i sowwy. ummmm, YOU KNOW YOU'RE A BAND NERD WHEN: -you don't know what life exists outside of that which revolves around band practice. -you stay in band even though you hate not only the director, but also your instrument. (guilty guilty guilty) -the drum major(s) is part of your inner circle of friends. -you buy a birthday present (not from the band or your section, but just from you) for your director. -you take more than one period of band classes AND it's not required. ummm, brain fart? i'll think of more laters.

Mirri Night Nintendo Punk 05 You know you're a band nerd when you start to sing past shows and your friends join in. My friends did that once, they were walking down the hall way and one asked how this part in one song goes, and they got to it and on the next downbeat they all busted into last year's show.. xd I LOVE doing that! It's so much fun! 3nodding domokun My friends and I do that all the time! Last year's tune was Looney Tunes and this year's was Blood, sweat and Tears, Chicago and Earth, Wind and Fire. Everyone in our band walks around humming the old songs. You know you're a band geek when your percussionist boyfriend plays rythems on your legs and you can join in.

You know youre a band geek when...
-you have a key to the band room and the bd doesnt care -you see your bd driving past you in her car and you start waving frantically at her and she waves back -when you know what positions all of your notes are that are in your range and can even hit all of them -you know what the starting note is for every instrument in a certain scale -when you say guilty to every single statement

You know you're a band geek when....
Your director asks a favour of you, and then follows up with puppy eyes. As a result you now clean the music room on fridays afterschool every week. (I was a victim.)

minethine You know your a band geek when you know how many chairs each row takes.... I set up the chairs each day before band and for each concert..... 9, 18, 24, and 34... plus 7 for the percussion. You know you're a band geek when the teachers sick, so you, a tuba, a bass guitar and a bass drum drive over to his house with the Drum Major during jazz band and play the National Anthem in his front yard. ..... When you reffer to people by their instrument. ^ ..... When becoming Equipment Crew Captain was the happiest day of your life. ..... When you think the word Senior means God.

...you learn a new insturment every year.
...you carry reeds and mouthpieces in you purse (and your not doing anything band like that day, they are just in case!!).
...your christmas/birthday list is comprised of stuff relating to what you play and new insturments.
...everytime you go to a music store to get a reed or some music you come out with a whole bag of stuff. (same with pawnshops that have music stuff)
...you give the band room phone number as a way to reach you.
...you give up Saturdays and Sundays to build Hal for your junior year marching show prop (Our music that year was from A Space Odyssey, you know Hal the big computer who takes over, we ((my dad, another guy from the band, myself, and the directors)) built Hal and had himn on the field), or any other piece of equiment that needs building...
