Shinichi glanced at the string that she and Aski-san were playing with. It might be possible to play with three people, but he didn't want to intrude. Then again, Aya had welcomed him so it couldn't hurt to try. As he struggled over his decision, Shinichi's eyes went to her legs. Bruises? From what, training with her new sensei? That must mean that her genin squad was training even harder than his! He shouldn't be here talking like this if that was the case! Shinichi sighed and asked, his voice very soft, "Can I play too?" This would get his mind off of things for a while, he hoped.

"Sure!" Aya said happily as she brought the stringy puzzle over to Shinichi to work on. "You were the very first person I played with remember?" she asked him while holding the string in front of him. Aya remembered when Koro taught her to play the game. They had been in the dojo practicing something for class and Aya had finished early. To stop her from being bored, Koro showed her the game and then had her and Shinichi play once he finished the exercise. It was so easy to play then since they had done such easy puzzles.

((Sorry, I have to go. The bell just rung.))
After a quick nod of his head, Shinichi wrapped his fingers securely around the string and examined the puzzle. This one was almost like a pattern, although one much more complicated than the last time he had done this. He looked up at Aya and then quickly ducked his head. Gah, why couldn't he just look at her straight like he did with Myobi-san and Sumire-san? What was so different about her? Shinichi smiled inwardly as he realised that he knew the answer to that. Aya had been "considered" (he frowned inside at that) the top genin of the graduating class and his goal ever since she first beat him a long time ago at the Academy. And her cheerful personality... what was not to like about something like that? Shinichi blushed and tried to cover it up by moving his fingers around the stringed puzzle.

Aski watched as Aya made a puzzle for him. He looked at it for a few seconds and started to move his fingers. He saw Shinichi come in and smiled. He liked shinichi he seemed nice even though they never actually had a full conversation.
"Yeah! My Genin teams really cool!" He smiled at Aya. "Amai is really nice even though she shoved me into the ground" he chuckled silently to himself. "What about you Shinichi?"

Shinichi raised an eyebrow as he heard about a seemingly ruthless jounin-sensei. "Koro-sensei took us on a mission and my team is pretty good. Who's on your team, anyway, Aski-san?" He averted his eyes to the string puzzle and occupied his mind and hands by trying to make sense of the mess of twisted string. Aski-san seemed nice enough, although just like Aya, he was from another team and therefore should be considered a rival. However, Shinichi wouldn't mind relying on the genin in times of trouble.

"You're with my brother then!" Aya said as she heard Aski mention Amai. "Aw...no fair. You get to be with Koro-sensei?" Aya whined slightly, but happy to hear that Koro was teaching a good genin team. "I'm with Heishi and two older guys. They're pretty nice! Shinji is the most hyper active person I've ever met! While Drakyn is one of the quietest. Almost as quiet as you, Shinichi," Aya said, teasing him just alittle. "I can't believe she stuck you in the ground! That's weird," she said back to Aski.

"Oh..." Aya sighed as she tried to get the puzzle from Shinichi and make her own from his. She was doing rather bad at cat's cradle today. Her fingers were pretty fumbley and she was having a hard time focusing. "I'm sorry! I'll try to make a new one," Aya said as she began looping the string around her fingers.

As Aya's eyes stared so hard at the string, they could almost burn through it, she noticed the shadows casting over her hands. "Oh! Its pretty late! I'm suppose to be home at 7 for dinner. Aski, Shinichi, do you want to come to? We can keep playing there," Aya suggested as she stood up from her spot. "Koro's going to make beef Udon!" she said happily.

He smiled, this time for real. "Of course." Shinichi hid his disappointment in his mind. She was with Drakyn-san and Shinji-san? From his experiences all around the village, the boy had discovered that both of those were highly skilled genin. He didn't know much about Shinji-san, but Drakyn-san had some kind of bloodline or something that was really just amazing. Shinichi perked up when he heard Aya mention his quietness, as almost an insult or disapproval. Maybe if he were more outspoken, things would be better between them... That sounded about right, he thought. Shinichi chewed on his lip and worked his way through the stringy mess.

Aya brought both index fingers up to Shinichi's cheeks and poked them just as he smiled. "I like that smile!" Aya said happily as a new smile crossed her face. She had seen him smile like that at the festival and it made her smile. "Aski has a cute smile too!" she said poking her friend in the sides with those same small fingers.

Shinichi blinked out of sheer shock for a few moment. Woah. He ducked his head as the blood rushed to his face. What were his options now? He could run, but that didn't seem to solve problems the last time. Or he could... no. Yes. No. Yes. No. YES! Shinichi slowly brought his head up and made eye contact with Aya. "I'll smile a lot more from now on... you can bet your... uh... your chances of beating me the next time we fight on it!" He grinned shyly and rose, offering a hand to lift her up. "Wanna... go out... to eat, I mean?" Shinichi could feel his breathing quicken and although he couldn't risk looking down, his knees were probably shaking right now.

"You mean betting that I'll beat you!" Aya said teasingly as she took his hand to get up. Almost like a train, Aya went to offer Aski a hand to get up off the rock. "Food sounds good! Let's head to my house and see if Koro has started cooking," Aya said happily. She had noticed that Shinichi looked her straight in the eyes. It hadn't occurred to her until then that he had always been avoiding eye contract with her. She had to admit that her eyes were a little strange, especially when someone was cose up to her, but from Shinich's distance there would be to much to steer clear from.

He quickly finished up another puzzle and giggled a bit as Aya poked him in the sides. "Dang you Aya, getting me hooked on this blasted little game!" he said to her sticking out his toungue at Aya. He quickly focused back on Shinichi. "Well, there's Myobi and she's really nice, and Aya said I'm with his brother. He's really quiet but awesome with chakra control!" he said smiling at him. "Hey Shinichi, what type of stuff do you prefer, jutsus, genjutsus, taijutsu or what is your preference?" He questioned the boy. Shinichi was nice. He hadn't talked to him but would probobly be very useful as a friend.

As Aski finished yet another puzzle he looked up at Aya who somehow pulled him up without him noticing. "Well, I'd like to finish this up because I'm in the mood. How bout i catch up with you guys in a few minutes?" he said smiling. He plopped himself back on his little rock giving the girl no choice. "Go on! I'll catch up with you." He said smiling, he quickly looked back down at the puzzle and moved his fingers around trying to make another.

Aski didn't do this puzzle correctly and was a little surprised. He hadn't lost a puzzle in a long time. He quickly looked up and saw the two still there. Then it hit him. "Oh Man! Im supposed to meet my sensei!" he said quickly. He looked at his watch(Which he totally has >.<) "Oh, I've got a few more minutes. Maybe i won't catch up with you guys." he sighed. "Im gonna finish this then head to the meeting spot.
