The dog started to fuss again, and Progolo watched Taal carefully. The griffin's ears flickered, but there was no change...Besides the smell of something burning. And then, as Progolo watched, Taal's fore paws began to glow and liquify, scorching the floor.
"Oh, not now..." Progolo dug into his bag quickly and retrieved a bottle of water, which he poured on Taal. There was a loud hiss, and the two of them were hidden in steam. Progolo coughed, waving the vapor away.
Over Taal's quiet commotion, Progolo heard one of the other guardians speculating about a volcano, and then suggest introductions.
"Did you say...volcano?" he asked suddenly, trying to keep the shrill out of his voice.

Sanar waved lightly to the whistling Aerandir and wrapped one arm firmly around Tobais before her ears flickered and she looked at the crackling radio.
Chao didn't even glance back to the other residents as the commotion rose, her frown merely deepened at the message the radio was relaying. Fire?! She shivered as the one sided conversation abruptly ended and Anthony suddenly strode in and locked the door.
"Anthony! A man named Alyosha just radiod looking for you, he said for all of us to stay inside, stay away from the windows and doors, and fill the buckets that're in the store cupboard in case of fire," she relayed quickly, mentally ticking off what the man on the other side of the radio had said, "if there's any problems were're supposed to radio back."
"What's going on?" she glanced at Progolo as he mentioned a volcaneo, having not caught the earlier refrence to it. But... it made sense....
"Is a volcaneo erupting?" she asked, arms tightening around Sanar, wasn't their volcaneo supposed to be inactive?!

Whoa, an adult aerandir. Momentarily in awe, Wyv stared at Osero before snapping back to the problem at hand.
"Don't think it's our volcano," she repeated calmly to answer Chao's question and hopefully steady the man she didn't recognize. Panic would be detrimental. "The smoke was easterly," Wyv peered at the walls, as if seeing the landmarks beyond them and pointed, "not west where our beast lies dormant." Now she swung her hand to point where the montain lay beyond the river. "I think anyways. I was in a bit of a hurry." She grinned sardonically. Okay, maybe not so comforting, but honest was best.
With a push, she gently herded Makai to the floor. A gentle prod of her boot-tip got him moving over towards Chao. "Go say hi." Since the aerandir child was with Chao, she had to be Sanar. "She took good care of you when you were in bottles, Bloo." Standing, she stretched and proceeded leasurely to the storage closet. "Ima go fill those buckets," she annouced with a nod at Anthony.
The otter-gryph approached cautiously to the child and the gryphon in her lap. His green one was placid once again and that made him feel better. He whistled, placing a paw on Sanar's leg and peered up, switching between her and Tobias.

That was good at least, "we probably would've evacuated if it'd been our volcaneo anyway..." Chao murmured, more to herself and took a deep breath to calm herself and hopefully not frighten Sanar anymore than the child already was. Yeesh, what a thing to happen the day she grew.
Smiling at Makai Chao plucked Sanar out of her lap and placed her on the ground with the two gryphons, "see hun, remember the jars you took care off?" the teen pointed at one of the other guardian's jars.
Sanar blinked from Chao to the gryphon and let Tobais down gently before sitting and smiling cautiously at the new gryph. He did feel quite familar....
Pressing her lips together she clicked quietly in welcome, not quite willing to use the strange sounds Chao and the others used just yet.

After hearing Chao relay Alyosha's message, Progolo lifted his weight off of Taal for a moment and dragged the retriever-sized griffin further away from a nearby window, which was darkening ominously. He thought worriedly of his other charges. He'd directed his largest griffin to take all the smaller creatures and fly to another island, but a volcano could cause such widespread damage that any of the Aerandir islands may not be far enough away...
He needed to do something to settle his nerves. Something that required attention. He thought about helping the woman with filling buckets, but Taal might cause a scene. The last thing Ar'Idil needed in a volcano was a berserk griffin melting into magma and liquifying their only shelter.
He reached into his bag, making the jars clink together, and produced a small wooden flute.
"I don't suppose anyone would object to a little music?"

She looked at Chao, she was speaking to Anthony, so he obviously wasn't outside. That was good. After a moment Karma decided that it would be a much better idea to get her butt in gear and do something constructive that sit around and mope. She started to followed Wyvern, and caught up to her, "Would you mind if I helped to fill the buckets?" She was just a little nervous, alright, very nervous, considering that several people were speaking of a volcano. While she was following Wyvern, she heard someone ask if music would be objected, Karma tuned her head around, so she could see the man holding the small flute, "I'm not sure about everyone else here, but I think music would be nice."

Wyv shrugged. "Sure, the more the merrier," fumbling with the door a bit, she finally managed to prop it open and began to hand buckets to Karma. "I think the best bet is to use the sink." She nodded in the direction of the kitchen.
Makai whistled happily. Although he couldn't quite mimic Sanar's vocalization, he did manage to clack his beak together in a fair imitation. Sounds! Sounds were fun.
Inspired, he gave her an affectionate headbutt on the leg. Maybe she could be persuaded to play with him, the other gryphon too. It was scary here, with the rumbles and the dark, but even worse, it was boring.

Karma waited while the door was opened, "Yes, that's how it usually is, isn't it?" She took the buckets handed to her, slipping the ones with handles onto one arm. Seeing Wyv nod at the kitchen, she turned her head, "Alright then, the kitchen sink it is." She carried the buckets over to the kitchen, and placed them down on the counter around the sink. Carefully, she also laid the jars down on the counter-top, making sure that they were as far away from the edge as possible. Taking the buckets one by one, she filled them with water. When two were filled, she called over to Wyvern. "These ones are filled, should I put them on the table?" She set one of the buckets down on the ground, and pointed at the large table across from her.

Anthony nodded slightly to Chao, acknowledging her message. As to her question he had only great suspicions himself. "I think it may have been the small volcano on Ai'Ilyn." he said. "That's the only other one on the Islands." he apused briefly, thinking. "I'm glad they seem to b allright over on Cetalu... it's right next to the damned thing. I was told that all of these volcano's were dormant too.." He looked over to Progolo, another resident he had not yet met "Music would be nice" he smiled, thinking that it might distract and calm people at least a little.
He sighed worriedly and walked over to where the others had begun getting the buckets ready. Taking one of the plain silver pails he began to help fill them himself. His mind was all over the place currently.

Emiko was deathy quiet in the circumstances. Her ears flattened against her hair, sending a few more locks falling into her face. Emi brushed them to one side without a word. No word, nor sound left her lips. Her arms still bundled both jars close to her chest, her silvery blue orbs watching the dog. Contemplating his next move, her gaze flickered around the space to one side and then the next. Good, she wasn't anywhere near to any windows or doors- rather she was situated right in the middle of the floor.
Two was company, and three was a crowd. The furry picked herself up to her feet, only to retort back a few moments later as Karma left with the other guardian. No need for any commotion at this hour. Jars held close to her chest in the camera case, she slung the midnight strap over her back. Determined to make herself useful, she headed towards the first window on one side of the lodge. Good, it was shut. Her darker brown fingers locked around the latch, pulling the piece of metal. It clicked, but other than that didn't move at all.
"I'll make sure all the windows are locked just incase," She'd seen Anthony wander back in, his normally pale head turned a darker hue. She'd even watched as he'd clicked the latch on the door, the windows clicking into her thoughts a moment later. The furry clicked the first latch, and then headed towards the next window at almost what could have been classed a heroic dash. Well, it would have been if Emi hadn't been so light footed. The second latch clicked, and then the third. It was then, and only then, did she allow herself a brief look outside.
Toby, who had been settled on the floor, picked himself up to his feet. It was a rapid dash over to Emi, and from there on in he circled her paws. He followed her, making sure his side wasn't anymore than a few millimeters away from hers - and if it was, he made sure to get closer. Weaving between her legs as she ran, his tongue lolled out in a pant.
"Feel free," She offered back to Progolo. Tearing herself from the ashes raining the skies outside, she pulled the camera case closer to her chest. They were all going to be just fine, they were all together. Almost tripping over the dog around her ankles, the furry subsided to find the next latch. Most of them were closed or locked already, but a select few she just wanted to make sure. After all, what was the point of being told to stay away from the windows if they were still locked?

Karma sighed, it had been a long time since she came into the lodge, scared at every rumble. Now, it had become almost second nature for her to pause when the ground shook, and just continue with whatever she was doing. Most of the buckets had been filled, but there were still a few empty ones. She picked up one of the buckets that had nothing in it, and poured some water in it. Setting it aside, Karma scooped up her jars and glanced out a window. "What?" She took a step closer. The once dark grey billowing clouds of smoke that blanketed the sky, had started to subside. "Hey, look!" She yelled, not taking her eyes off the window. "I think it's getting lighter!" Karma continued, though not as loudly.

Progolo lowered the wooden flute from his lips, stiff from playing so long. Not to mention his awkward position on top of Taal...Progolo had played through every song he knew and even made up a few while he sat there. Taal had fallen asleep beneath him, lulled by the music and the tremors shaking the earth. Progolo stretched, emitting an audible crack in his elbow, rubbed his sore mouth and glanced out the window.
He did a double-take. The sky was clearing. Patches of blue were visible through the smoke and ash, and there hadn't been another tremor for several minutes.
"Is it...over?" Progolo asked, perplexed to hear his own voice coming out of his mouth instead of flute music. Playing for several hours could do that to you.

Karma looked at Progolo through the corner of her eye, she didn't dare move her complete attention away from the window. She didn't want to look away and find out that it had all been a dream. "I, don't know..." She took a step closer again, and peered out the window. It definatly was getting much lighter, like it had been when she arrived. "It's getting much clearer though, so I'd imagine that it is." Her arms loosened thier insanly tight grasp on her jars, and a small smile flickered on her face. It sure seemed like it was over.

Osero looked up sharply as one of the humans called out. Rising to his feet, he carefully approached one of the windows until he was close enough to see out. She was right - it did look as if the sky was lightening. However, there was still smoke hanging, and the hunter could detect an acrid, unpleasant smell still. Perhaps it was safe now. Unfortunately, this really was not Osero's area. He was experienced in outdoor survival.. in normal conditions. Volcanos and earthquakes were not something he considered normal conditions. Acia had always been the one to deal with the earth, afterall..
Leaving the window for the moment, he padded back into the centre of the room. Still somewhat concerned, his large, bushy tail flicked from side to side slowly. The hunter glanced at the radio machine for a moment, before speaking quietly.
"Any word from Cetalu?"
