As people have said, yaoi has nothing to do with whether or not you do or do not like men or women. I am a lesbian and absolutely love yaoi, more than yuri even, but that is not what makes me a lesbian. In fact, that is what made me confused about my sexuality in the first place. I thought I couldn't be a lesbian cause I liked yaoi, I was wrong. Though, to be completely honest, I do not like graphic yaoi. I don't wanna see anything below the waist.
Yaoi is for everyone! Gay men, lesbians, straight men, straight women, bisexuals, pansexuals, etc.

People that I know say that-
Girls are lesbians if they read yuri,
and that Guys are gay if they read yaoi.
or if they read both they are bisexual.

I am not lesbian, and i read yaoi.
do not get me wrong I go to gay pride parades and even participate in them, i believe love is love and not a matter of genders.

its been they called my guy friends gay for watching/reading yaoi (two of them are actually gay but that's not the point).

Oh. My. God.
I've never gotten comments, but my friend has.
And I think the same person who asked her is she was lesbian is telling her friends that I'm lesbian.
To be honest, I don't care.
Nobody believes her anyhow.
Her reasons for both of us are....
arrow We like Yaoi! *gasp*(SSSSSSSSStupid! If girls were more attractive to us than guys, why in the WORLD would we want to watch something with ONLY GUYS involved?)
arrow We have female friends.... whom we hug! *gasp* (BTW Rachel also has male friends she hugs, just not as often 'cause some guys don't like hugs... duh)
arrow We wear gay ninjas t-shirts to pride.

One of my friend accused me of not being straight for my fandomness... But that's just silly.
Don't people understand that maybe if it was the other way around where a girl was watching two girls have a go, then there's something wrong there?

I do read Yaoi and i have discovered tht i am bisexual. Other wise i do also think it is rude when ppl just come right and and ask it. It's just terribly rude!!!

Ugh, this happens all the time to me, and it pisses me off so much.
But I guess, it might be the thought of how if we like yaoi, we must support gays, and if we support gays, we are gay ourselves, or some kinda of stupid logic like that.
I don't mind it much when people ask if I'm les (even though I'm not. . . I'm not even bi. =|), but it makes me mad when people end up with that conclusion because of my love for yaoi.

That has never happened to me in my entire life. In fact the exact opposite happens.
But the reason they think your a lesbian is simple. Anime boys are just like girls except wtih no boobs or v****a. I mean, look at them! There so girly!
