Cagalli Yura Attha XRedSamuraiX Cagalli Yura Attha shinyman75 I play Daemon Hunters and the reason is the grey knights r awsome the speaicl rules r awsome (read them) and the reason I only occasionally use a few of them as allies is the fact they're friggin' expensive. you pay 25 points per dude with a storm bolter, and 50 points for a dude with a power weapon. As a marine, I pay 15 points a basic bod, 30 points for a veteran, plus whatever wargear I choose. You can't change your justicar's weapons. says so in your rules. Plus due to my chapyer trats, i can pay 25 points to upgrade that veteran to an apothecary. That really does make basic marines better than grey knights. Why would you want to change a justicars weapon? You can change a Justicars wargear though, and If used right is mostly well worth it...I do agree that sometimes a grey knight being only able to wield storm bolters is annoying, but thats what thier allied units are for...I've had plenty of battles with space marines and so far its pretty even. ((heh, and the guy up there with the nightbringer must be a very lucky man.) because a justicar ONLY has a power weapon and a storm bolter in game terms. I can give my veteran artificer armor, a lightning claw, and a combi-plasma gun if I so wish. I can give the guy anything, as it goes... except a bike or jump pack, because of movement locomotors. Althought the justicar can't change his weapons, he can have any other equipment from the armoury...his nemesis force weapon (power) also gives him +2 strength, and I honestly don't see a weapon I would want more...the downside is yes, I really don't like the Idea of stormbolters on every grey knight although it is really effective against high numbered armies and gives them the true grit rule...but thats what I'm going to use my allied forces for...and my inquisitorial storm troopers. I will equip them with the weapons I'm lacking. And besides your comparing my troops to your elites in this case arn't you?

Alright, I'm having problems finding a role for my main HQ that started the army in the first place now. They don't have the firepower to sit around and shoot at people, they don't have anywhere near the assault powers of my Stormtroopers in Rhino, let alone the mighty Teleporting Grey Knight squad I use. I could get them a transport (have one Chimera and am currently scrathbuilding a Land Raider Crusaider), but to what purpose? More than anything else I just like modelling the Inq. Lord and his retinue, but now in games he's a heck of a points sink not because he sucks but because everyone else does everything better than he and his peons do. He just sits on the battlefield looking cool and soaking up shots. Any tactical suggestions on how to re-arm him or a focus role he should be playing? I don't like for my one HQ unit to be useless.

Ahh, the rightly feared grey knights, or not it seems. Its funny how everyone seems to have a way of beating them easily. Either they haven't played many games against these warriors of the emperor or the people you do play are not that good with the grey knights. They're a power house of an army and with their +2 strength and five weapons skill. Even my Space Marines veterans have a tough time taking on a regular squad of them. I mean with hitting on a four plus and wounded on a four plus I need to master craft everything or have a librarian with Veil of time on to make them equal, but then my veterans cost more pimped out then a standard grey knights gets his stuff for free. They are the most challenge opponents I have fought up to date, I get a kick in the pants my first battle against them thinking my space marines are the toughest fighters. It's a different game when you out number an enemy for once with SM

Won my first ever battle with my pure Grey Knights. With nothing but my grandmaster and dreadnought left standing...

If your having trouble finding a good inquisitor selection, I found a lot of ideas on the games workshop site...they have a really helpful sublink on the sidepanel of the DaemonHunters section and it lists...5 or 6 different Inquisitor combos that can devastate almost any army if played right.
I would take a look at that if your having problems. (and congrats on your first time playing win with Grey Knights...Although I love the grey knights and am ashamed to use lesser, I highly doubt I could bear to brink a pure Grey Knight army...not enough AP to take down Space Marines...other than that though I seem to be in the clear with pure GK. (by Space marines I'm also including Chaos Space marines, witch hunters, and other grey knight armies, but not necrons...although they have a 3+ I don't think that I'll have a hard time out shooting those warriors. razz ) But, even up against armies such as these, the Grey knights I bring will vastly outnumber the other "lesser" units that I call upon to aid me.

SetgTheiDe hey red, you play G'kights. post your list. wink I'd rather not, it's not much of one unfortunately, and I'm at kind of an odd phase in my list...heh, found a good deal on ebay and although the terminators I bought are of course effective, I got so many of them compared to my grey knights I look like a complete "n00b" to anyone who knows what they're doing. Why, do you know any grey knight players?

SetgTheiDe i know one, but he doesn't use a complete G'knights army. Eh, neither do I...I'm very attracted to the suggestion however, but some of the other available units in the DaemonHunters codex produce quite an unrefusable offer. Some of those assasins sound pretty nice and I really like the Inquisitorial Stormtroopers. (thier good enough to satisfy my quiet lust for a guard army) Although my force will definately comprise of a VERY high percentage of grey knights.

I am new to the game. I had no intention of even playing it I just meant to paint figures and sell them. Then I bought a box of Grey Knights and was wonderring what else I might need. I saw the stormtoroopers but found that they were of another race, i belive its cadian? I wanted to know because I also saw the Grey Knights Stormtroopers are they different? Can I buy a box of the Cadian stormtroopers and play them as the Inquisitorial Stormtrooper because more comes in the box? Also I was wondering on an HQ? I like to get into peoples faces and destroy anything that even thinks it is going to survive and i was told this is the army i want. So My questions are.
-Can I play Imp Stormtroopers as Inquisitorial Stormtroopers? -What kind of HQ do I want if I want to be in someones face? -Any helpful tips?

Yes you can use Imp Stormies. The ones in the DH codex are the old models.
Grey Knight Grand Master for getting up in someones face.He dosen't even need to be given anything and he's still awesome. If you give him an Incinirator or psy cannon he will be more usefull.
I recomend either going all out GK for every unit or have lots of storm troopers and inducted gaurd with GK heavy support choice guys(I forget their name) and GK termies backing up a GM.
Always give him atleast 2 Termie retinue.he needs them for support.
