Tou snorted happilly at the crab comment. Then she leaped after Chiyo, still giggling.
"Yes, beautiful!" she exclaimed. Then a mischevious little grin spread across her face.
"Race you to the beach!" she shouted, already dashing across the sand.

Chiyo started and voiced her surprise. She had never been in a race before. But she shot forward, surprised at her own speed. Soon she leveled Tou, and smiled at her happily, forgetting to be competitive. She just breathed in the light air. The sand felt good on her paws, warm and rough.

The adult giggled, not bothered about winning either. She just wanted to get to the water, to splash and jump over the waves and look for fishies and jellyfish.
"Oh, you know what jellyfish look like?" she asked, slowing down a little.

Dora and Irwin trot steadily down to the sand. When Irwin's paws hit the strange surface, though, he freezes.
"Something wrong, Irwin?" Dora stands a few paces off, barefoot in the sand.
Irwin lifts one paw and cautiously places it back down on the sand. It sinks slightly.
"Mum, the beach is trying to eat me!!"

Chiyo shakes her head. "No...what is jellyfish? Are squishy and fun?"

Tou stopped for a minute, staring at Irwin.
"Irwin, it's just sinky. It's ok!" she yelled.
"Ahem, anyway. No, not squishy or fun. They are really stingy and painful, so don't touch them!" she warned.
"Oh, they look like little blobs of goo!" she added, walking now instead of running.

She stops. She didn't know there WERE bad things in the ocean. "...pain? Hurt? Oh..." she lowered her head. What a dissapointment, they sounded like so much fun. "But...lots more good fishie too?"

"Oh." Irwin tries walking again with a little hesitation, but feeling much better thanks to Tou. He takes small steps until he reaches Dora, who is caught in a fit of giggles. "It's not funny, Mum!"
Dora quickly composes herself and leans down to rub Irwin's back. "Okay, okay. Do you want to go down to the water with Tou and Chiyo?"
Irwin nods. "Yup."

Tou swayed a little. She didn't mean to upset Chiyo.
"There aren't many jellyfish in the sea, just on the sand. But YES, plenty more good fishies. All different colours too!"

(Damn. Mom's kicking me off for a bit. Don't get too far without me!)
Chiyo nods, reassured. "Okay Tou. Wow...LOVE to see colors! Sound...so...wo-...wonderful!" she exalts. The thought of the joyus little creatures in a rainbow spectrum excited her, and she giggled.

Dora stays a few steps behind Irwin as he bounds towards the other Skull Monkeys that are standing at the water's edge. He stops abruptly, though, when he notices a shell skittering across the sand.
"What is it, Irwin?" Dora leans down to see what he's discovered.
"I dunno, Mum. It looks like a shell... But how come it's walking?" Irwin tilts his head in confusion.
Dora giggles and carefully picks up the shell, gently turning it over to let Irwin see what's inside. "This is a hermit crab."
