"All the better to hug you with, my dear," he responded, wrapping his arms around the girl now next to him. While that wasn't written, he assumed it had probably actually happened.
"Nuh, wath aoot!" Manior cried, giggling like mad.

Mayu blushed, wondering what Kimiko would say if she saw them like this without an explanation. She would probably just faint, she guessed.
"Grandmother, what big legs you have!" Mayu said, trying to recall the order the lines went in. It was first arms, then legs, then eyes, then ears, then teeth? She shrugged, It didn't really make a difference if she mixed up the in-betweens, as long as she got the first and last lines right.

Demare didn't remember that part of the story. Legs? Hmm... Since it was a wolf, the only thing logically was to run, right?
"All the better to run with, my dear," he explained.

"Grandmother, what big ears you have!" Mayu said, still trying to recall the order used in the book.

"All the better to hear you with, my dear," he said, lifting a hand to flick at one of the plush ears.

"Grandmother, what big eyes you have!" Mayu stated, wondering if the toddler was still listening. It would be no use to continue if he had fallen asleep already..

"All the better to..." he started, but then trailed off. He peered over at the toddler for a moment, and noticed that he was curled up on his bed, hugging a black cat plushie to himself. They were so caught up in the story that the two hardly even noticed the child falling asleep so quickly. "Ah, that worked a lot better than expected."
The halfling sat up after a moment, looking down to Mayu and smiling, blushing a little bit.
"Th-thank you for helping me out," he said, his wings fidgetting a little bit. "I think Manny really liked that."

"You're welcome," Mayu smiled, and sat up herself. She picked up the blanket that she had used for the cloak, and placed it back on the bed neatly.
The lights began to flicker, and after a few minutes of going on and off, began to shine brightly again. Mayu squinted, having gotten used to the dim light that the sudden return of power almost blinded her for a moment.
"Well, the lights are back on..." she said, shuffling off of the bed. "What do you want to do now?"

Demare thought for a moment, scooting himself off of the bed and straightening it out a little bit.
"Well, there's some movies downstairs... We could try to watch one?" he suggested, looking back to her.

Mayu thought about the idea, then nodded. She wondered what movies Demare had in his collection.. Perhaps they would have Ringu! She had heard Kimiko talking about it on the phone before, probably phoning one of her siblings.. It sounded interesting!
"Would you happen to have Ringu?" she asked curiously, as she wanted to find out what all the hype was about. Kimiko had made such a big fuss over it that it was bound to be a good movie.

Demare was a bit surprised by the question, stepping out into the hallway and making his way toward the stairs.
"I think so," he replied before getting too far. "Wait here a sec, and I'll go ask Neko."
He wasn't gone for too long, maybe only about three minutes. His footsteps were lighter as he'd taken his shoes off downstairs, and the halfling entered the room holding a DVD and the cat-eared headband he was wearing.
"She said we can watch it in her room if the TV in there works, because the TV downstairs won't turn on for some reason," he told her, waiting by the door. "She thinks something happened during the outage."

"Alright," Mayu said, in a happy tone of voice. She was finally going to see what all the hype was about!
"Can I see the DVD box?" she asked, peering over his shoulder -- though it was a bit hard, considering she only reached up to his shoulder in height. It looked interesting enough, though a bit creepy.

Demare handed Mayu the DVD as he stepped over to Neko's room, pushing open the door before going inside. The room didn't have anything too interesting, and he figured it probably looked like any other master bedroom. After all, Domonic didn't leave much room for Neko to go crazy with things in the house, even if it was hers.
He stopped in front of the TV and pushed the power button, a bit relieved as it turned on. He then began to mess with the DVD player a little bit, trying to remember how to hook it up. It wasn't that hard, but there wasn't a lot of space to move his hands around to do it any faster.
"Did you want any snacks for the movie?" he asked once he was done, pushing the edject button to open the DVD player.

Mayu read over the back of the box with interest. Ah, so this was a scary movie.. She shuddered, though sucked it up as she was too prideful to show her fear in front of a guy. Taking the DVD out of the box, she placed it into the DVD player and found herself a nice seat.
"Um.. no thanks." She smiled, not wanting to make herself seem like a parasite, or something of those terms.

Demare found the remote before taking a seat on the bed, scooting back and adjusting the pillows so he could have something soft to lean up against. He fiddled with the controls for a moment, coming up to the set-up menu screen.
"Hmmm... Do you want to watch this in Japanese or in English?" he asked curiously, not minding either way. He could read subtitles just fine, but he didn't know about Mayu.
