I'm listening to the finals from one of our marching competitions, and one of the trumpets from ne of the bands must have sore lips plenty. He seems to be able to play pretty high. He's pretty good.

xX-Catha-Xx on the note of sore lips..... *murders the last post* i had to play it for my school. in front of everybody. and i'd only gotten the music that day eek twas very hard........ and my lips had died by the end. (not to mention it was freezing outside) I think I played the Last Post five times in a course of three days. And I have to do it on Anzac Day as well... Note: Australian New Zealand Army Corps ANZAC

I don't own any. In fact, I'm not a trumpet player. A friend of mine is though, and a darn good one, too. She has two trumpets, I kinda helped her get the second. We were out on the field last year, ready to practice our drill, when the incedent happend. I reached for her trumpet and like a dork that she is she stepped on it to keep me from grabbing it. The next thing I know she has this "OMG" look on her face and she picked it up. She had bent the bell of her trumpet. Both of our eyes got wide and she said her mom is going to kill her. Her mom didn't find out until the day of our Christmas Concert. Needless to say she got a nice silver trumpet for about $75 bucks off of ebay. We still laugh about it today.

I was pondering mouthpieces...what a nice thing to think about right before Christmas but....Anyways, I've always played on a 3 or a 3C, becaus eit's what my band director always wanted my to use, but now when I talk to people form other....places, they all use 5Cs or 7Cs and I'm wondering if I'm just wierd or if anyone els plays on a mouthpiece as small a I do crying xp sweatdrop

My concert band section leader plays on a Bach Megatone gold plated 3C. I envy him.
