Opener: The Yard

Ballad: Confinment
Closer: The Escape
It's pretty cool, since we live by SF and that's where The Rock is. The story is, is that there are several different gangs and cliques in The Yard of Alcatraz. They don't really like each other. (Clarinets don't like flutes, pics don't like flutes, flutes don't like trumpets and so on) So there's some trouble that starts up, which leads to a Riot. Thus there's mass chaos. Of course, the people are going to be locked up for starting trouble, in the Confinment cells. After a while in the cells, a plan is hatched to Escape. (It's cool, because in confinment the colorguard has giant bars they're using as props, and in Escape we're going to have a siren that sounds like an angry cow.)
Yeah. It's coo'.

-[[Take a little bit of time everyday to reflect on bits and pieces of life. Relax and view life to its max.]]-
Our show's titled Snakes, Lizards, and Dragons. C: For the first movement, it's about 3:45 and based off Hindemith's Symphony in B-flat. We're even playing all the triplet runs at 180 and stuff. xD
Second movement is based off Glyde's Carnival of the Animals. It's supposed to be the 'ballad' movement, and right before the drum break, we have scatter drill to chase Dragonflies. C: The third movement should be really cool, but I know next to nothing about it. In the beginning, though, we have a siren sounding run, in which the clarinets play the same octave as the flutes. o.o And it's at 190.

The names "Rhapsody for a New Era." Its basically alot of songs for the twenties
Mvt 1- Rapshody in blue
Mvt 2- Take the "A" Train ((bells)), Dont mean a thing, ill be lovin you always
Mvt 3- Charleston ((part of it the band just plays Kazoos)) and happy feet
Mvt 4-what a wonderful world with a Rhapsody tag at the end

We doing "Joy" THis year. WHich includes Joy, Olimpiada, Cider House Rules, and vaious other melodies with the word joy in them.

The Lake Norman Marching Wildcat's Show of '06 is:
The Life and Times of Billy the Kid: The Outlaw
Opener- Street in Frontier Town
2nd piece- Wanted: Dead of Alive by Bon Jovi
Middle piece- Gun Battle
4th piece- Billy's Demise
Closer- Legend of Billy the Kid
Our show takes place around the life of Billy the kid, the famous outlaw who gives the famous line, "I'll Make Ya Famous" due to his shootings and bank robberings.
It starts with Street in Frontier Town where Billy is just a little kid and his mom is shot in a shootout.
Wanted: Dead of Alive is the piece that shows how Billy becomes the outlaw by robbing a bank and Sheriff Pat Garrett comes into play by chasing Billy and his gang.
Gun Battle is a Drumline/Colorguard feature where the snares and tenors face off the bass drums in a gun battle and do the sound effects while colorguard does the visual stuff. Snares and tenors represent Billy and his gang while bass drums represent the sheriff and his gang. Billy is "shot" and killed by Pat Garrett.
Billy's Demise is a woodwind/colorguard feature that shows the sadness of Billy's death with colorguard action and strong band sounds. There is no Drumline action in this.
Legend of Billy the Kid wraps the show up with the sudden appearance of Billy to show that no one knows the true death of Billy the Kid. Did he really die in that battle with Pat Garrett? Or did the sheriff let him go? No one knows the truth....

Last year was Machine, and this year is Momentum- with music from X!, Dreams, and Icarus.
yay, our first competition was yesterday. We got 1st in division, and our percussion got 1st overall. It was pretty sweet. Some people on the busride home had a Queen cd,so we were singing "We are the Champions" and "Bohemian Rhapsody." xd

I think our show is called "Children's Play", but I'm not sure. Anyway, our field show is based on the music from Pee Wee Herman. It sounds childish, but our drill writer and arranger made the show complex and very cool.
