"Be careful, Jin." Eir said between mouthfuls of splintering wood and whatever this was holding the bars together. She had made progress on the first joint. Just a little more and she would be able to wiggle the bar. If she could get the one bellow it to give as well, she might be able to move the bar enough to slip between them. She heard another voice. "Tabi! Yeah… yeah we seem to be. Are you ok?" She glanced around to try and find the naga hybrid. She was pulling the last fibers of the fastening free as she did. "We all seem to be here. All three groups near as I can tell." She lowered herself to the floor of the cage, looking at the next fastening to work on. Here goes nothing. She started clawing at the fibers once again.

"That's right, come here little buggy. I'm just going to take you as a pet. I'll take real good care of you and everything. You just have to come over here with some of those twigs. Preferably a good one." Marolyn quietly coaxed to the little buggers that were swarming up and down the tree nearby. In the distance she could hear singing and crying so at the very least she wasn't completely alone.
At the moment though, she wanted something to throw should anyone come near her. And the bugs were the only thing in sight. They would do.

Alright, she was certain one of the bugs was making its way closer to her. The bars were just wide enough that she could fit half her hand out of them before she started to get stuck. If she wasn't part slaugh, she probably could have gotten a hand out to fiddle with the lock. She was sure she could have unlocked it if she could reach it. Wooden cage? The lock probably wasn't all that complicated.
Maybe they had left something that she could use to open it? Marolyn checked herself over again, hoping to find some useful thing that they'd left behind on her. Unsurprisingly, there was nothing. Her coat would have had something, but it had been taken. She cursed whoever had it. She'd get back at them. Clare too if she ever saw her again.
She must have muttered something about throwing the little buggers aloud because the one she'd been doing her little chant to was wandering off in another direction. Upset at herself, Marolyn used that excuse to kick against her cage again. It might have been her imagination, but she could have sworn that the door was a little more loose than it'd been before. Maybe if she kicked it enough times, it'd break and she could figure out a way down from there. The forest floor was a long way down, or so she imagined, but there were trees all around. It couldn't be too hard to just climb down one.

Character Name: Mao Score: 4 RP Response: Maoli kept pressing into the bars, clinging to them as though that would save him if the suspended cage decided to take a dive. Taking a deep breath, he found himself shaking his head minutely in response to the question… followed by a wave of nausea and throbbing. ”I-“ he tried, before swallowing heavily. ”I think so? My head hurts a bit…,” he breathed. ”And I feel ready to spew out my stomach,” he added with a small amount of mirth in his tone. Hopefully, ‘lupe was in better shape than him. His eyes examined the small, skittering bugs. How creepy… ”You? You’re not uh… bleedin’ out or anything, yea? I don’t know healing magic.” Not that it mattered… he had already tried to ignite a bit of light and nausea overcame him enough to make him stop trying. [wc: 139]
Character: Alice Current Score: Not Rolling Response:
When the song stopped Alice opened her eyes and looked back at the nightmare who had been singing. They seemed not to be doing so hot now either. Clearly frustrated. Considering the situation Alice completely understood. The situation sucked. Alice was slowly accepting her fate, whatever that was. She slowly took in her surroundings and considered the idea that this wasn't purgatory but just a trap of some sort. She noticed as the person fell and the cage spun chaotically.
Alice called out to her. Are you okay?! The idea of that motion on her own cage made her stomach churn. I really liked your singing for what its worth. . She adjusted slowly her body so that she could face them without shaking her wooden prison. Alice hoped perhaps focusing on another person would make things easier.

Character:Lycos Score: 0 Response: They heard Latros' voice and it was an immediate relief. While they still couldn't see them, their voice was good enough to put their worst fears to rest.
"No...I'm...I'm fine. I don't.." No, there was nothing hurting at the moment, except maybe their pride. Those mushrooms were absolutely a horrible idea in the end, and Lycos was...well, not happy.
"I..." Other voices were piping up. Not Latros', but others that they just didn't recognize. Some, they did, others...they must have gone to the other places. So, now they were all here. It wasn't looking good, but the panic was dissolving.
Character:Lycos Score: 0 Response: Soon enough, as well, Lycos calmed enough to process the words of the one next to him. A grimm hybrid they'd seen while on the carriages, a calm one. And probably level-headed enough to get them out of this situation, right? Lycos could count on him? Yeah, yeah that's right.
Yeah, okay, concentrate on him. Breathe. Close your eyes. Breathe. Get rid of the terrors. Breathe. Close the rest of your eyes. Breathe some more.
"s...Sorry for yelling." Lycos apologized, to him and to whoever else was around to hear them. "I just...this sucks...I'm sorry, I shouldn't...Ugh." But their ears perked up soon enough.
"We'll get out of this!"

Character:Cian Points: 2 [1 /3 rolls] Rp Response: Cian nodded towards the litch (Devon) in the cage near the nixie. He'd missed the introduction between the two, but was grateful to see another who was not entirely lost to shock or anxiety in the situation. Not that he didn't understand the reactions--far from--but the warrior was far too aware of how irrational acts could further a catastrophe. Still. He could see other cages, and how some worked at breaking the wooden bars of their own confinements. If they could get out...
"Strength doesn't mean much if my enemy can outwit me, or outrun me, or stealth around me before I can register they're around," he stated to Lupe easily, offering the kid a faint smile. "It's more finding what your advantage is, and learning how to adapt to your weaknesses." Though he hoped that to be some level of assurance, he was aware he could offer little else. Indeed, he gave a grunt of agreement with... Doctor... Dev? No, not likely, given the man's wince at Lupe's use of it. "If they mean for us to starve here, it'll give us the time to escape, is the one bright side to that."
He leaned back somewhat from the bars, collecting himself to kneel more comfortably. Something he could do for a long period without his legs getting the circulation cut off. The bird was slowing its pecking and clawing at the cage, it itself drawing up to make itself more comfortable. As if understanding the lad's words, its golden eyes perked up, looking towards Lupe as Cian chuckled. "It might take you up on that offer. I'd suggest waiting, in case we need to cook up ourselves some food." He said that in a jest but... well.

Character Name: Maoli Score: 5 RP Response: Maoli was studying the critters closely, breathing still shallow and slightly panicked. What were they? They did look a bit… alien-like. But also like leaves. He watched them closely, so focused that he didn’t notice one coming down the wood planks, landing easily on his head. With a surprised and strangled yelp, he tried to brush it off. He couldn’t deal with this, he could be here. A sob nearly ripped out of him as he tried to call for the one person who could even possibly comfort him. ”’L-Lupe,” he cried out, hands going over his head, head between his knees, curling tightly into himself. Character:Cian Points: 3 [2 /3 rolls] Rp Response: The gradual cease of screaming beside him drew Cian's attention and his shoulders heaved slightly in a sympathetic exhale. So the one he'd heard shouting--or one of them, anyways--was the one the screaming fox-spider was calling for. They seemed to take his advice, though, and he shifted his focus onto them for a short period. "You're doing good," he offered gently as the other began to calm their breathing. Multiple eyes began to shut. "You've nothing to apologize for. People handle situations differently. It is good to see you calming, though." He wasn't about to lecture someone who was in distress.
Well. Alright, that entirely was dependent on the circumstances and what the person was doing. In this case, Cian wasn't entirely nervous of attracting unwanted attention by screams and shouts. Though he'd considered the trees could be hiding any number of immensely large--or even small and equally deadly--predators. Wasn't about to voice that thought.
At least the fox-spider was starting to perk up. "We will," he grinned, before his gaze narrowed again on the wooden bars. It occurred to him that they'd likely be far more efficient than he could be at climbing out of the cage... if they could break out.

Character:Sierra Current Score: 2 Response: Sierra managed to hang on and not cry....then she heard a voice below her. And after another moement another joined in......for a few moments sierra laid still but opened her eyes enough to watch the bugs carrying their food up and down the tree. Strangely it helped comfort her............"Th...thank you" She called out....and carefully sat up trying to not make her cage swing. Taking a deep breath she looked below and saw a lovely fallen looking rather the worse for wear and an equally ruoughed up fey.
"Hello.... I- I am Sierra" She said lamely. Feeling a little dizzy as hieghts were not a strong suit of hers she gripped the bars of her cage in her claws. "Who-.... are you guys all part of the expedition?" She asked
Character:Sierra Current Score: 3 Response: *looking about in the filtered light of the forest she could make out other cage shapes and hear other voices......."I wonder if this is the whole of the expedition she wondered......" Are we all here- the whole expedition?!? " she exclaimed curious and terrified. It was one thing to be captured, another to know that there was no hope of rescue.....She fought against the panic and fear that once more threatened to swamp her....she wished she had her precious here, or even that lovely bird..............but at least there were the cute little bugs........she forced her tired hangover filled drugged muddled mind to focus.
"Ok Im gonna call out some names, try to find out who all is here"
Character: Alice Current Score: Not Rolling Response:
I'm Alice and...guess everyone up here is expedition crew. I haven't spoken to anyone since we arrived....so I don't know.....I have regrets. She looked around and saw the other members in cages as far as her eye could see. Clearly someone had been playing clean up crew. They captured members from all teams. She still was very uneasy with the heights so she kept looking upwards as much as possible. They knocked me out... took all my stuff. I could see the wildflower cart so they were close.... What about you? She used the them they encompassly since she had no idea who their captors were.. much less how they kidnapped everyone without being seen.. caged them and hung them all in a system of trees.
