A leaping centipede smacked him in the face, mostly harmless as he knocked it away but falling flat on his a** while America kept crushing them like a champ would be a wound of pride later.

She was only vaguely aware of Tobin and Dean screaming back and forth at each other somewhere further away from where she was currently preoccupied.

The voice, normally incredibly silent save for the off and on humming, threw Dottie completely off, and as she swung the katana, two handed, at a centipede that was leaping towards her, she only managed to just barely nick it.

Yes I ******** do, actually! Now get back to shutting up.

With newfound conviction and purpose surging through her veins, invigorating her entire being, another arrow was loosed. This one was so powerful that it buried itself right into the gaping maw of the centipede, its blood and bile washing over her shields, scalding her skin with something like a vicious sunburn.

Her cry was sharp, but brief, as she turned to look at Caroline. "Ama?!"

He still felt tiger-ish and he held up his club again, swinging it around and he sent one flying before it exploded - and somehow HE STILL GOT WET.

"DEAN YOU BETTER STAY ALIVE!" He paused. "GOES FOR YOU TOO DOTTIE! AND EDGELORD IF HIS HEAD IS OUT OF THE SAND!"

Lucky looked over at the cluster of abandoned tents with a pensive look. Each interruption by an eager centipede ended with a gaping stab wound through the head of said centipede, by a very long and serrated knife.

Two of them burst immediately from the shock of it, in a spray of caustic venom. Lucky wiped the mixture of sweat, sand, and burning acid away with his scarf as he made his way toward the remains of civilization.

Roland scrambled to get upright again, he was on his hands and knees Sylvia laying across the ground in front of him. Grasping her he gave an awkward swing baping a bug on the head with the flat of her blade for minimal affect.

She saw Stryker's golden runes light up, felt the build of power and his readiness to take on all comers, together the girl and weapon synced up perfectly for one, beautiful moment. The golden ball swung into the remaining centipedes and as they moved away from it, they didn't notice until too late that a fiery ball of death was finishing the weapons trajectory, hitting straight at their center exploding.

Turning her back to it, America slipped on a pair of sunglasses and walked away.

Another catching glance of frigid thorns, but this time the centipede vanished into a puff of smoke. Like a shadowling, then? Except...painful. It'd ruptured like an old boil, stinging sharp against his shield as it dissipated.

He scrubbed at his face, rolling his shoulder to throw off a centipede that had crawled up his back. Leslie wanted to retch.

Roland staggered to his feet scowling at the group of bugs moving towards him. He gripped Sylvia towards the end of long shaft raising her up feeling something swell up inside him.

It was too late though, he brought the scythe down letting out a cry of frustration that was mirrored by the sudden burst of noise and air around him as his scythe let out a Banshee Wail. The noise was like thin knives cutting across the sand wildly.

Most of it bounced back at Roland ripping at his coat while Sylvia focused on trying to keep it from cutting him up instead.
